Just ran my high level roulette. The healer was an AST.
free company im in already has a couple of level 50 dark knights and machinists lol they said with new exp bonus its really easy ;/
Armory bonus for level 1-49 is at +100% (used to be 50%).
Yeah, I've only played about 6 hours since the update and I'm already level 38 DRK. If you do the challenge log and levequests/FATEs while queuing for dungeons (or just do dungeons with a group), the XP is really fast.
Yesterday I got my DRK to level 50 and today I'll get it to level 60 or very close to it. The class is super interesting to play and way more complex than Paladin. I love it so far.
got my drk to 50 as well at 3am EST.
then i kinda pooped out.
Let me just say I have made SO MUCH MONEY off the folks power leveling.
Four million gil since yesterday and counting.
I <3 you guys and your willingness to fork over 25K for high quality jewelry.
I went to bed insanely early last night, and I was still a level 45 AST. On my sever alone there were three of them at level 50, and that was at 8 PM EST.
Too bad they're going to hit a brick wall at level 50, the exp is not so hot up here.
I know I want to get my Dark Knight to 50 so I can do the story with that class and get all the quest gear for it.
For level 28ish accessories no less when starting out. It's amazing how much gil people will dump on level 30ish gear. I'd like to focus on leveling and getting through the story myself, but I'm getting so freaking rich off this that I can't help but take advantage of the "OMG! I MUST CLEAR EVERYTHING NOW!" crowd. :p
Since we're on the topic of price gouging to the extreme;
Why would people do this? You can buy all the gear for a level 30 from various NPCs. If you have the full set from Brayflox, it literally takes a dungeon and a half to get to level 32.
I suppose I shouldn't think on it because it makes my brain hurt.
I reeealllyyyy wanted to level Machinist to 50 last night, but I didn't want to waste my Rested EXP on a level 30 class when i got 10 more levels ahead of me on my lv50s.
You get alot of mileage out of low-level jewelry. The levels between upgrades are mighty large.
At least a small legitimate part of the reason for buying off the marketboard instead is because NPC merchants don't sell High Quality gear. (From all I've seen so far) And HQ is notably better than Normal Quality gear. Of course, being HQ, it's of course going to be more pricy.
But with the prices they're currently at? Yeah, I'll admit, I try not to think about it too much either, lol. It's probably the hype train.
Another thing is, most of these are lv50 players, and even without crafting jobs or actively seeking money, they're probably sitting on a few hundred thousand gil. Dropping 20k on something isn't really that big a deal. If you have Dungeon/Raid gear, what are you even using it for?
The new armory bonus makes leveling very fast.
You get a whole level every dungeon nearly.
I leveled an alt to 50 doing only the main story, hunting logs, and roulettes with a few fates here and there. I never bought gear or took gear from msq. The only gear I had was from dungeon drops or I bought something stupid cheap on the market boards to spiritbond whether it was class appropriate or not. I made it to 50 pretty painlessly and with 3mil gil. This was months ago too.
I've actually been taking advantage of the price gougers - someone was trying to sell HQ, triple overmelded Heliodor rings for 150K. What? That's a 1000% markup over two days ago, even with triple overmelds. So I dropped it back down to 25K each for HQ/no melds and I keep dribbling them back on the MB. People buy mine because it looks like a veritable bargain compared to the wasteful overmelded ones.
That said someone caught wind of all the profit I was making off HQ steel sabatons and steel gauntlets, found the vendor, and put the NQs on sale on the MB with a 5000 gil markup. Because the market was flooded with cheap NQs, it drove down the price of the HQs (had been selling for 30K each) and it's not worth bothering any more.
on my server i went and did dusk vigil the dark knight and astrologian in my party were both lvl 58 and 59 they almost hit lvl 60 by doing the expansion missions as the new classes.
I hit 50 on machinist like 8 hours ago.
It's really not hard.
All I can say is, Those people are extremely lucky they aren't encountering bugs and/or 90K and 2002 errors. I have not been able to play more than a few hours since EA started and can't progress my MSQ for HW because of a No-Text bug.
Ran into lvl 52 DRK in Dusk Vigil on 2nd day of early access. He can't hold aggro shit.
Our FC leader actually bought the workshop for us - we had a mere 150K lying around in the FC bank for whatever reason, and he used that and supplied the rest of the gil for it as a gift to the FC.
I've got about 7 million cash on hand now and a FC member owes me another 2.5 million (she bought a house.) That.... actually isn't a lot of money for someone who does crafting as their major game activity. Honestly I'll probably spend it all on clothes lol
