Things that make you cringe?
Weaboos
Cringe is just another one of those overused gamer buzzwords that annoys me.
Made up Japanese player names.
Speed runs
WHMs spamming holy.
players who rp marco all there skills....
People who use the term Weeaboo.
I mean really... Why hate on anyone for being who or what they want to be?
Speed runs, gil spammer, nubs, lagging, and just rube players. Yeah...that makes my soul cringe. (¬_¬)
Okay, please define weaabo.
"Weeaboo" everytime I see it addressed to someone is when you like Japanese media so much you pretend you are also Japanese, maybe even a Japanese anime character
it's essentially the english equivalent of an "anime otaku".
Imagine, your 11th grade anime-loving classmates... etc, etc.
this thread and its impressive derailment
Okay does weaabo is limited to white people only?
Okay does weaabo is limited to white people only?
And also "you're" and "your" made me cringe.
Weeaboo is a free title given to anyone of any race, except maybe Japanese (living in Japan) , since "otaku" already applies to them.
Dang i hate this mobile version of FF XIV forum, can't edit and delete your posts, makes me cringe!
People will assume everyone they meet online is a white, male, and young. The range in the imagination of others tends to go from teen to neckbeard. As far as they're concerned, Asian-americans and Japanese players don't exist.
That said, Japanese-names don't fit with lore outside of the Au Ra.
The only thing that really bothers me in-game is RMT adverts, and the constant spam of tells/etc. advertising sites. It's doubly annoying that it takes so much longer for you to report someone than it does for them to send a tell. My blacklist is filling up, and I think only two of those accounts have been deleted. It suggests that all the reports don't make a big difference.
Well people do use Otaku term loosely and in a hurtful way when it actually means being a nerd/geek at something. there are even sports otaku.
Cringing make me cringe
Barnacles. Lotus pods. Surinam toads. Things of that nature.
Oh, and genuine usage of "XD".
Threads like these make me cringe. Can't we all just get along?
People who get excited over meeting "a real girl" in game.
I'll add some thread related.
- People who shout Roleplay about the most idiotic subject,
- Guys who treat their in-game relationship as and actual relationship.
- Fanart of 2 or more characters together. (Also the perverted R34 Fanart of a couple in-game is uncomfortable to look at)
- People who have a welcoming house description made by a 5-year old, but keeps it locked to ERP.
- ERP, saddest thing in list.
- Food or TryingToBe cute names.
- people who refer to anyone wearing valentine dress/socks as "Cosplayers"
- People playing Miqo'tes referring themselves as wolves, dogs, or Nekos (debatable on a level)
- Mom's who play and describe their struggles of changing a diaper and raising their children
Players dressed solely in tome gear. Don't give me that crap about "I play to have fun". Do you even try, bro?
People who judge others for having tome gear when ultimately it doesn't matter. Cause raid gear or tome, in this game they will be replaced in 3 to 4 months anyway.
If it wasn't for that, I'd not only raid for run, but I'd also raid for gear.
Lag during prime times. Always hated that especially during raids. I understand wiping due to failure in mechanics but with the lag hiccups and the spikes? Just...no.
Oh and also my FC not being into PvP and im pretty much the only one in the our FC that actually does pvp for like few times at least. At that point I was hanging out my linkshell more than my FC mates.
People in the anime or video game community who say they prefer japanese voice audio to english when they don't even know the language. What is the point when you can't understand what they are saying?
cringe? MB Undercutting
if i recall correctly dosnt the term OTAKU, literally mean (unhealthily) obsessed, and theres even a few different terms for the severity of the otaku i think nekigomori (not sure if thats correct) means like otaku who shuns reality, and is someone who completely rejects the real world for the fake one they obsess over...
anyway for the cringe, people who learn i am british and try to use the fake british voice, or type saying gov'ner or constantly ask me for tea, it makes me cringe because of the heavy stereotyping but the cringy part is where they honestly beleave that >.....>
in some cases the japanese voices have a better performance, and thats what i like but i don't fully understand the spoken japanese, so i switch to english and listen to a few cutscenes where the proformance should be good for some really well done japanese voice acting.
Sometimes the native voice actors are MUCH better at expressing the emotion of the scene than the localization actors. The opposite is also true. Sometimes the localized content towers over the native language due to the talent of the voice actors. One of the best shows I've ever seen was the English dubbed Ghost Stories.
tanks that play as dps, dps that play as tanks, healers that don't use esuna when needed, tanks that don't listen to advice, lalafell race as a whole i find more then cringe worthy, especially the fact they can bond interracially
