Ready for the 3102, the 2002 and the DDoS?

If you are planning to take time off work on early access, I beg you to reconsider.

Even if you can make it past the 3102 during downloading client, the log-in screen 2002 and the queue timeouts, the chances are you will get DCed 5 minutes into a cutscene and land on the back end of that six hour queue.

Personally I've never played WoW, but I've witnessed the struggle of my friends during the last WoD launch. Two weeks of six hours at the login screen to get in -- followed by running towards a wall to avoid logging out. If this expansion is what it hyped up to be, then it would be no surprise the trolols will serve us with plenty of uMadBro on a cold dish.

Rest assured friends -- SE's fragile NA and EU servers are no match for the looming DDoS attack; meanwhile everything will be up and running fine and dandy on the JP servers.

Ya. That's why I'm still contemplating calling off friday night. I'm on midnight shift (7pm to 7am). So I'm off the first night of early access and plan to put in as much time as I can. But what I foresee happening is there will be a several hour maintenance the second night. That's how it always goes. SE always does the maintenance during my prime playtime. I guess I'll just wait and see if they announce a maintenance andhow smooth the first night goes.

But I'm calling it now there will be a bug or exploit and the second night will have a several hour maintenance. So i might as well just go to work.

Personally if I worked on Friday and could afford to take the day off, I would.... even with all the logging in problems I could use that time to sleep or play other games...

I'm going to visit my parents on friday and will have time to play some of the EA maybe on Sunday.. hopefully things will get a little better by then!
In any case, my body is ready for all the errors.

What makes you think someone will coordinate an attack on SE?

Some people keep using terms incorrectly. If the servers are down when they are trying to get on then it has to be because of hackers. Heaven forbid it might be any number of other, more plausible reasons. Where's that Inigo Montoya picture when you need it...

Has SE said anything about the EU datacentre and moving it to an actual EU location? they said they would be doing it for HW, but haven't really seen anything about it

I'm ready to play without too much problems. Some problems probably, but not a nightmare. :3 I've never really been the doom and gloom type, so I guess my glass is always half full!

Or maybe, just maybe, everything is going to work out just fine, possibly with minimal errors. Could that possibly be why they are taking the servers down for twenty-four hours in order to implement the patch?

You could take it down for 72 hours, and there will be one or two big-ticket issues missed. XD

I'd like to have faith that someone ran the numbers of how many preorder there are and adjusted servers accordingly but I won't hold my breath. They didn't do it with 2.0.
