Curiously. I don't like this new feature.
Curiously. I don't like this new feature.
you do, you only don't get exp if you go unsync'd
Um I will. For the satisfaction of destroying Sastasha by myself.
you still get treasure drops, so you can destroy old content super fast for vanity/lvling gear for your lower lvl classes/jobs.
you can? if you join solo (unsync'd) you would get ZERO exp for anything you kill/do. but you could get gear. (don't have to lvl any specific way)
if you join normally (full pre-made sync'd/que) you get exp like normal. but you can lvl through leve/fates/quests like normal (don't 100% understand your question)
I'll be using it pretty much specifically to farm items for glamours, so it works for me tbqh.
Apparently you're going to receive exp from bosses and treasure chests as normal. Not monsters (exp, crafting items, gil). It's fine, leveling up through dungeons was really quick already, picture having a level 50/character destroying everything in front of you. Like you would spend 5/level, even considering the fact that pre-level 50 dungeons now give you an 100% exp bonus based on the adjustments they've made with the armory system.
That sounds very fun in some dungeons.
You act like I was arguing against you, I simply said that many people defended the story being locked out for new people. I say fine, however because you "need" to do a major story line that is enough. You don't need levels if you lock out everything by a story.
I didn't agree, or disagree with you. ;)
Still doing dungeons for relic and zodiac? You won't care about leveling in those old dungeons, you wanna do em fast as possible without any syncs.
If you scrolled down a little bit you would of had the answer.
The Undersized Party option can only be used for the following duties
2.X dungeons / 2.X Trials / Binding Coil of Bahamut / Second Coil of Bahamut / Final Coil of Bahamut
This option has no effect on the strength of enemies or mechanics in the duties it is applied to. Players will still receive treasure rewards, first time completion bonuses, and experience points upon completion of duty when using this option. However, players will not receive experience points or items from enemies that appear prior to boss encounters. Spirit bond and soul resonance cannot be gained when using this option.
I guess we will have to powerlevel through dungeons normally now. =(
And it is!!! and I totally will rekt everything. You can do this in MMOs like Tera or WoW. Everybody loves that. I have a date with Aurum Vale. The reason I think they removed the exp given by monster was a matter of balance. To fix the exp reward from other content or the roulettes themselves. However, with some many jobs at this point, I don't know if it will be a good idea to keep it like that in the future. Specially with the fact that all the jobs need skills from the other jobs.
I like it keeps bonus xp locked to once a day maybe twice a day and forces people to do the expansion content rather than sit in town and wait for queu's. Getting a dungeon should still be easy since we'll gear up in dungeons.
Im not sure how this function would force someone to do the expansion content?
This only affects higher levelled players e.g level 59 going into the level 15 dungeon - Sastasha unsynced.
They go into the dungeon, alone the monsters will give no experience (I used the level of 59 as an examples as you wont gain experience past 60 so it reflects my point) and the monsters will drop no items.
HOWEVER - Dungeon bosses will still drop equipment chests when you beat them.
Again - I'm not sure how this would affect bonus xp or force someone to play the expansion specifically.
This feature is here to farm gear or help someone for his first clear, not for power level. To get exp from the kills your level have to be around the level of the enemy and around the level of the other party members.
I thought this was understandable, looking at how much a lv30 enemy give someone at lv 50.
Also you are not taking into consideration the new bonus xp first timers will get. Since they have to do the story. They could be looking at a level in less then 5 minutes depending on the power curve and xp boost.
Wrong, wrong wrong... there is ZERO experience for level 50 duties if you're not in duty finder. Please refer to the following quote from the preliminary patch notes.Emboldened for emphasis.Quote:

Why play a RPG at all if you get to the maximum level on your first dungeon.
That said, you aren't going to drag a level 1 noob into Snowcloak and have them leveled to 50 unsynced that way. That's a horribly inefficient way because the game ALREADY PREVENTS YOU FROM DOING THAT. Go find a level 43 (I think, was it 5 or 6 levels?) monster while at level 49 and kill it. No EXP.
The OP didn't mention sync at all, and the post I quoted was inaccurate. The only time you'll get experience is in level sync content, and it won't matter if that's through DF or not.
It still sucks that they're effectively nerfing level 50 dungeon runs for no good reason.
You can't enter a dungeon without using duty finder. This isn't FFXI.
My big question is what perks will there be to clear dungeons with minimum gear ratings?
Ugh... just reading that hurt my head. Exactly why would you think you should be allowed to power level? What developer in their right mind would think to encourage that? let alone ones that work on a MMO.
"Gee, they want to burn through even more of our content and quicker? Sure, we didn't need his money anyway!"
Yes, but it would seem all the people who like just running the first rooms of various dungeons are going to be out of luck for that particular power leveling tactic. Which will make a lot of people happy since they'll get full runs for story, which was becoming a real problem with some dungeons.
How else do you get into a dungeon, other than by duty finder???
Generally speaking the term 'DF' is used to refer to searching for a random group while PF (party finder) is used for premades. Yeah, not perfect but it's what seems to have been adopted by the majority so let's stop pretending we didn't notice.
In any case doing any non level sync dungeon outside of roulettes will not grant experience points to players at level 50 or above. Only the higher level dungeons (51+) will grant XP in this way. I notice a lot of people focusing more on terminology in the hopes of pretending this key fact doesn't exist. Sadly, it does.
The first reply is about unsyncing.
He should've mentioned that post 50 ARR dungeons don't give XP, but it's pretty clear that what he was talking about was what was relevant to the OP.
The rest of this thread has been about the OP wanting to power level through older dungeons, such as having a 50+ kill all the lower level mobs and bosses to level someone else.
So this is about power leveling, not the 50 dungeon nerf. When he said "without using duty finder", I'm pretty sure he's talking about the feature to desync and go without the required amount of people judging by the rest of his posts.
Though, those are still tools within the duty finder.
About the 50 dungeons. I don't think it really matters, they're just trying to encourage people to go do HW content rather than power level through speed runs for the first few 50+ levels.
