Same damage though.
Takes into account of combined ilvl of your entire party.
But hey, yeah. It's cool-looking and a good change.
I died on SCH/MCH/AST.
The fsajkdllkscking chills man.

I died looking at SCH and AST's LB (Especially SCH). Really beautiful ;w; *glittering eyes* Those flying pigeon OMG /dies.
Can we talk about how bard's LB has them doing a flipping BOW?
Ive literally waited my whole life for this. Nevermind that ive only been into mmos for, like, 2 years now....
love the new limit breaks but do the tank LB's do damage as well as reduce incoming damage?
DRK rips a hole in reality and black ooze (or something) pours out. It sure look like it's something that could hurt enemies, but as a tank I guess it will most likely be something more defensively.
I think there is a reason. Teraflare, is of course the more powerful version that bahamut uses in final coil. It's essentially his strongest attack. That's the one that he uses that makes everyone have to go stand in the ring and tank limit break 3 at the same time. With no mitigation, I think it does 40-50k to every raid member if not mistaken (correct me if wrong, doing from memory)... compares to about 6k per person on megaflare with no mitigation.
Bahamut uses Teraflare only once though, so would probably be easy to miss the name, I think he's out of the ring, and probably can only see the name from the combat log.
Also, the sound effect is Teraflare. But yea, I mean, Megaflare looks about the same.
I believe more players will pick SMN plus with with new skills that look like Ark Mon.
Every time (unfortunately almost never) I use Angel Feathers on my scholar, I'll forever hear Colette from Tales of Symphonia.
Or I could use it and just say "uh, oops!" to be canon ;)
I thought about Colette too when I realized the name. I'm still confused as to why scholars got an LB like that though. They really have no tie to holy magic or anything of the sort. It should have featured the Fairy instead of some random little angel (Call it Fairy Wind if you will. From one Tales fan to another).
It was such a big mistake to make one limitbreak for the group!
It was one of the best decisions to have now job specivic looking limitbreaks, but players will fight for who is allowed to use it...
Thats what the players like and i wonder what happened with the "personal" limitbreaks yoshi-p once talked about.
The BRD LB is a straight line AoE so it isn't the same as casters. Not sure if MCH is straight line too.
I think the special effects will remain the same. It's just a visual improvement, to define the differences between the jobs. Other than that, I don't think they are going to play with them and add some mixed effects. I would love the idea though. Now as for these LBs, I wonder if they are going to have different AoEs. For example, SMN looks like he's the focus of the LB, while Bard is a circular area in front of him, which might be like the actual caster LB.
It truly does look like Gigaflare. When I watched the video, I thought it was exactly that. The special effects, the sound effects. It also makes sense to use Giga instead of Tera, considering the level of power destruction that Tera implies. >_> I would have saved Tera for a future Baha-pokémon.
Not even Giga, but rather Megaflare (since that's what Nael Deus Darnus uses, who despite being a thrall and sharing a similar appearance to Bahamut himself, still could only use Megaflare). Also, Mega is the more iconic flare out of the two, in my opinion.
Summoner's not exactly ringing my bell these days, but I love the look of some of the new LB's. Dragoon is all grown up now :)
Teraflare isn't just a stronger version of Mega and Gigaflare, it's the attack where he actually charges a beam from his mouth like in his classic appearances. The SMN LB3 is clearly what this game refers to as Megaflare(and Gigaflare), which Bahamut and the T9 boss uses.
love mch lb
Everytime I use Dragonsong Dive on DRG, I'm going to shout out loud in my room NIBULUNG VALESTI!!!!

Because they're giving the name of an attack that canonically ended 1.0, is used in a boss fight, to an attack which was also shown in a cinematic, is also used in two seperate boss fights, and has more-or-less the same particle effects/animation. I'd be a bit confused if my tortoise used hydropump, but it appeared as a little water gun squirt (when only seconds ago, I was on the receiving end of a hydropump).
Also from what I recall, all LB3s are functionally the same within the role (tanks have 50% damage mitigation, melee dps is single target, caster is targetted AoE, healer no-one-gives-a-shit)
I thought the Dark Knight LB3 looked familar. It's the first move used in the video. Sanquine Sword.

BRD looks amazing.
Thought this was interesting
"The limit break for ranged physical DPS has been changed to an attack to all targets in a straight line before the caster. Furthermore, level three limit breaks can now only be used by jobs."

Sorry didn't mean to post that twice.
I'm just going to assume you haven't done T9 or T13. We have seen Megaflare, Gigaflare and Teraflare in game already. The new SMN LB uses the very distinct animation of Megaflare and Gigaflare yet has the name Teraflare (which has a totally different animation). It just doesn't make any sense to anyone that has fought Bahamut and seen those attacks.
It's likely just a mistake with the localization team. They should fix it honestly. They clearly don't play the game, or they would of been like oh um we should use this name..
Small detail is going to be varied between people. I mean, I get bothered by my bard animations, or lack of because they always clip and abruptly end each other after another ability (which isn't the case for black mages for some reason...). Something like this isn't gamebreaking, but i t seems weird and inconsistent for anyone that's done coil, and its not like they're throwing up a storm about it either.
Besides, both teraflare and mega(giga)flare are things in the game that objectively have different animations and are already established. Starting to call them by different names is going to cause confusion (much like ahkmorn/dreadflare)
