They've always released the patch notes prior to the reading before so I doubt that they would change it up now. This isn't some special event that was suddenly planned for E3. It's something that happens every time they release the prelim patch notes and due to the release schedule, it happens to occurs around the time of E3 this year.

Well, the notes should be available in English anyway right? So we don't need a reading of them...
But its rather bizarre to go to an event where the dominant language is English and not have a translation. -

As far i can remember, the reading of the Patch Notes on the Live stream has always been solely for the Japanese community. At least… I haven’t seen any translations of these Patch Note Reading Sessions. Maybe it’s a “cultural” thing?
I’m guessing that the Preliminary Patch Notes will be released on Lodestone, just before they will be reading it on the live stream. But, there’s also a Duty Commenced about 4 hours after that. So, i would think that Bayohne, Camate and Grekumah will be touching the subject of the patch notes as well as showing us around the SE/FFXIV stand at the E3. -

lets keep our hopes up we will have the preliminary patch notes released tonight or tomorrow so we can read them in english... at least have a translator for it... we enjoy to know and understand whats happening as its happening too..

Just imagine the boredom of a 3 hour lasting livestream from Yoshi reading and that translator lady repeating everything in english and you'll see why they didn't do it.

We don't need a live translation. The patch notes will be released in English. Yoshi P literally sits and reads the patch notes in Japanese. He doesn't go into detail and reveal hidden secrets, he literally sits and reads, and there might be a bit of banter and contextual clarification.

Doing something like that in japan is easier because they don't have to worry about shipping that much weight over to other countries. See the thought process with the CE console is to encourage those who play on ps3 to move to ps4 since they do want to try and phase out the ps3. It is however possible that a future expansion could have a CE version of console for all countries to encourage players to move over from ps3 to ps4 in a time when ps4s start to become cheaper as a means to migrate ps3 players to ps4. So pretty much while we might not have a CE of ps4 version now it is still a possibility in the future and they may even use FF15 as a means to push it.Quote:
