Please Don't Remake the Tank Achievements Req

So.. With Heavensward coming and the increase in lvl to 60. I am humbly requesting that you do not change anything about "A Tankless Job" Achievements for the PLD and WAR Mounts.

What I mean is.. please keep it to where we can begin grinding for these achievements at level 50. Do not increase it to where we are required to start grinding for these achievements at lvl 60. ;_; I just started working on getting my War Bear on my main and still have yet to start on the War Lion.

I don't think they're going to reset it. There's no reason for that. I'm sure it will remain as it is now. Also they'll include the "tankless job" achievement for DRK as well.

I would prefer they do update it to be harder level 60 content, not "hard" 50 content. Heck it should have been 1000 runs not 200.
It's supposed to entice tanks for wanting to tank. Rewarding those for actually filling the role.

It's not something you should spend an afternoon spamming turn 4 to complete.

But hey, I've been a tank long before these achievements existed, so maybe I'm jaded.

I think it would be fine if they kept the same mounts for level 50 and added a new achievement for level 60 with a different reward.

I'd agree they shouldn't greatly modify the difficulty of obtaining the achievement (keeping in mind that if they somehow lock it to a dead roulette, that'd greatly increase the difficulty lol). I like the level 60 idea, just to encourage past and future tanks even further (or different type of difficulty/more runs or different roulette).

They need to change what counts towards the "Tankless Job" achievement. They need to include the roulette's, but only with the bonus so it will still take a while to do. There was a time where I stopped doing the expert roulette's because:

a) it didn't count towards the achievement
b) T4/ex primals was way faster and easier to farm and gave just as much as the roulette over a period of time
c) I had no reason to do the expert since I already cleared it and I didn't need more Mythology (tomes at the time)

I'm sure they won't reset the achievement since it would piss off a lot of tanks. Imagine being 199/200 then when HW hits you are back at 0/200. I'm guessing the Dark Knight's mount will be mechanical since it is in Ishgard. I'm hoping its this:

I think the tank achievements should not be touched but rather...ANY HW content should give 1/200 every time. It encourages people to stick with their tanks and do the new content rather then a decrease in tanks for a while again :)

Funnily enough you still miss the point.

Those rewards only Apply to certain content. 200 or 1000, SE missed the mark by not allowing low level / high level / expert rouletts count toward the number and instead focused too much on 'hard' 8 man content. Which means mostly tanks that were already ranking continued to tank....

Yeah I thought the point of the mounts was to encourage more people to tank to cut down on queue times. But the way they implemented it was just a reward for career tanks doing their job. Why should a tank be rewarded for doing their job when a BLM or DRG or whatever isn't?

also i hope dark knights lvl 50 is a spider mount >..> i would soo grind for a spider mount.

They didn't miss the mark at all IMO. It was incentive for tanks to continue doing certain harder content.

It is also likely that which duties count toward the achievement will change with HW, but counters won't be reset.

They didn't even change the all relic achievements and the NIN is out from a while now so I don't think they'll change the actual tankless job achievements

Ah no, I do agree with that.
I think their idea was to get people into tanking so they'd keep tanking, thus fixing some of the roulette issues. Sadly it doesn't work like that. People who don't want to tank simple won't. So yes, I do believe that certain dungeons should count.

I didn't say to not Reset the achievements. My Original post has nothing about a reset. I'm saying don't boost the requirement to where you have to be level 60 to start earning credit towards the mount.

200 high level runs are more than enough. They wouldn't increase it mostly because we're not the only ones playing this game. There are going to be new players as well. The tank achievement is not the main goal of the game and it doesn't requiere any adjustment even if new content is being added.

I actually am still confused what these "High Level Runs" are exactly.

I've been a tank for most of my XIV play time, and still only have something like 30/200 for this achievement. And why doesn't Crystal Tower count at all? >.>

Ugh, I apologize. Someday I'll learn english... Probably these are going to be added to the current challenges, not replaced. You'll have ex primals, raid content and the new ex primals+raid content. As far as I get it, they are only allow you to run without level/gear sync in pre-50 dungeons, which doesn't include raid/ex-primals (and makes sense, since there are multi-player mechanics). So, leaving said content as it is now, I feel like they won't change that, they'll just include the new content.

the achievements themselves are hilariously pointless.

they only reward tanks who tank in the content where there is no dearth of tanks (outside of the duty finder, but pugging those fights is extremely unreccomended to begin with)

but for the content that DOES require tanks (pugging) you don't get progress toward them at all.

combined with how godawful low level tanking is, and square enix is putting the incentive/reward in the completely wrong place...really, they just need to redefine it to be using the duty finder, or at the very least allow expert roulette dungeons to count as well.

I agree here. I was a bit upset, as were a lot of other tanks, when they said the achievement would only count with EXPrimals and Coils. It definitely deterred a lot of people who were considering leveling tank to not do it.

From what I understood when they announced the achievements and mounts, it sounded like they would be rewarding people who picked up tanking as a completely new tank. That the achievement credit would include dungeons for tanks just leveling up.
It was quite upsetting to find out that instead it was rewarding existing tanks with statics; leaving out the low level dungeons that are in dire need of tanks for their queues.

See.. the way Yoshi-P worded how the achievement would work when it was announced; it sounded like it would be rewarding new tanks. Not just existing ones. To a majority of us it sounded like we would get credit AS we leveled up. A lot of people don't main tank in end game raids because it's not their thing. Sure they may do it once in a while to help a friends queue go faster, but they are not end game tanks and they do not feel comfortable tanking things like t13 or any coil or EX primals for that matter.

Heck, I don't have a static and I was looking to be a tank for people to get their queue moving and I thought I'd get credit because of this. But to have it not be like this upset a lot of people when the achievements were first released.
