Anyone else notice that they haven't changed the credits from the old dev team?
Yoshi was actually asked this in a Japanese magazine interview. He gave the reason as to why he hasn't changed it yet is he will wait for the official reboot and all changes and fixes have been done before changing the credits. I.E. It is very very very low on their to do list.
Credit where credit is due. New dev team haven't done too much, no offence.
I figured that was the reason. I'm not one to really look at the credits in MMOs and was just bored/curious this morning lol.
I know what you mean, when I read the interview I went and watched the credit's and got a chuckle.
Well, the old team created an entire world, all the current gear, weapons, models, lore, blah blah blah.
New team removed active-combat, removed collision detection, removed mob behaviour, oversimplified crafting, etc.
Sorry but removing half the game doesn't qualify you to be on the credits. Credit where credit is due. For now anyway.
When they add enough stuff, then they shall be worthy of being on credit list.
Ever get the feeling User201109011315 wants the game to have stayed exactly as it was on launch?
He'd be the only one I think, both in what he wanted, and on the server right now.
Would be hard to play a multiplayer game all on your own.
He's not alone, I'd play it like that.
i wanted a vision of what the game was on it's way to being as well, the early launch and handing over the game to rejects is what is ruined the game... all is left really is to hope they just trying to take u'r money but still have same vision in long run. sorry for saying it kinda rudely.
lol also i doubt anyone would want to put there stamp on something broken till after it fixed, i would wait too, if fail he can just keep tanaka name on it lmao.
I still miss Tanaka, It's nice that they have his name in the credits. That way it isn't all changing at once.
I imagine the original team will stay in the credits along with the new team even after all the changes though. Really it was the original team that build the foundations that the new team have used to make an awesome MMO from, so they should still get credit for starting it.

This was addressed by the localisation team when I asked a few months back.
And the comments of that "User" are ones I started ignoring a long time ago due to the pure negativity.
Also, adding the new people to the staff roll does not mean taking old ones away. ;)
Thanks for the link Catapult.
Those guys are still part of the team. It wasn't a full team change, bro.

See, when you spin your words carefully, you can make anything sound bad or good. He didn't just remove things willy nilly. The actual reality is that the team (which is 80-90% the same as before) working under Yoshida removed and fixed things that were making the game bad. And he added a metric s*** ton of more minor things that, when summed up, dramatically improved game quality.Quote:
