Modified <MOD> Recruiting for 3.0 Savage Alexander

We are a tight-knit, competitive guild that has achieved a number of server firsts on Gilgamesh. We get along well, have a blast screwing around, and we kill internet dragons together. The majority of us have remained active through the 6 months of no content since 2.4. However, we did lose a few members due to real life issues like going to work at ice cream cone factories.

We are looking for a handful of new members to fill out our raid groups for Savage Alexander progression. Here’s some basic info on the groups that have open positions.



Group One: Our main progression group that pushes new content the moment it hits servers.

Raid Times: 8pm-12 (midnight) EST Monday-Thursday. Could possibly be pushed back a bit if needed.

Progression Hours: We are aiming to have members take around a week off of work/school/whatever to push content when it becomes available. If you can’t do an entire week but could go hard for 2-3 days we would also consider that. Ideally we would raid 10-12 hours a day for progression during the push, and then drop down to our normal 4 hour raids once folks are back at work. We understand that this level of commitment is not for everyone.

Open Spots: We have 1, potentially 2 spots open in this group. We need 1 melee dps, 1 bard (or mch).

Other Info: The current members of the raid group are fairly flexible and able to shift between jobs, so we may be able to accommodate other configurations. We have some members interested in trying out the new jobs, as well as the new skills for current jobs. Due to these changes we aren’t looking for specific classes, but people that can fill a role competently. For example, we would expect a caster to be able to play both BLM and SMN and be willing to switch between the two if one or the other is better for the group comp for a particular encounter. A good fit would be an individual or small group of friends that are passionate about XIV and are eager to compete with the big boys for World/Server firsts.



D-Chan: A hardcore mindset with more reasonable hours.

Raid Times: 8pm-12 (midnight) EST Monday-Thursday.

Progression Hours: Most likely the same times as listed above. May be extended if work schedules permit.

Open Spots: We are looking for 1 tank or 1 healer (pref PLD or SCH)

Other Info: An integral part of Modified since 2.3. D-Chan prides itself on timely kills without a crazy raid schedule. Expect a skilled group of MMO veterans that get the job done. Also, a very social bunch. Potential applicants should be happy to hang out in mumble.




Team Hodor: A “medium core” group of friends that joined Modified a few months ago.

Raid Times: 9-12:30pm EST Sun, Tues, Thurs, (possibly Mon).

Progression Hours: Most likely the same times as listed above.

Open Spots: We are looking for 1 bard (or MCH)

Other Info: Long time gamers that can’t commit an exorbitant time to raiding. This is a group that is very active in game, but due to real life commitments can’t raid hardcore. Ideal candidates would be very friendly with a relaxed attitude.

We expect potential recruits to understand the ins and outs of their class, and have the drive and dedication to take on new content. I've been a member of MOD since around September of last year. I spent a lot of time researching the different FCs on the server before I even applied, visiting FC websites, talking to FC leaders and members to make sure that I would pick the one that was right for me. After all, this is an MMO, so who you play with has a huge impact on how much you enjoy the game (at least for me).

At first I was apprehensive about even applying to MOD, because even though I wanted to play with skilled players, I was worried it would be like raid FCs I had been in in the past - full of cliquey, ragey, elitist, basement dwelling jerkwads.

However, once I joined I was pleasantly surprised. From the moment that I joined the FC, everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Even though most of the members are assigned to one specific raid group for progression, during non-raid times everyone just sits around in mumble, chatting and joking around. People are always up for running dungeons and dutys if you ask in FC chat. Whenever I want to put a group together to run content, I can confidently grab anyone from the FC and know we will have no problem clearing with ease. When I joined MOD I was really just looking for a raid group, but what I got was a really great community.

And on the topic of raiding... raiding with MOD has been the best experience I have had in this game. Everyone is always on time and fully prepared for raid. Fights are researched, potions and food are bought BEFORE raid time, and while we are in there everyone stays focused while still having fun. Within the FC, all of the raid groups share information and strategies between each other to help everyone clear the content quickly. My raid group itself is an awesome group of dudes, and I can't wait to tackle all the new content of Heavensward with them and the other nerds in the FC.

So yeah... I realize that's a lot of rambling, but I guess the tldr version of my post is: Join MOD, it's totally wizard!
