Thread: Modified <MOD> Recruiting for 3.0 Savage Alexander

We are a tight-knit, competitive guild that has achieved a number of server firsts on Gilgamesh. We get along well, have a blast screwing around, and we kill internet dragons together. The majority of us have remained active through the 6 months of no content since 2.4. However, we did lose a few members due to real life issues like going to work at ice cream cone factories.

We are looking for a handful of new members to fill out our raid groups for Savage Alexander progression. Here’s some basic info on the groups that have open positions.



Group One: Our main progression group that pushes new content the moment it hits servers.

Raid Times: 8pm-12 (midnight) EST Monday-Thursday. Could possibly be pushed back a bit if needed.

Progression Hours: We are aiming to have members take around a week off of work/school/whatever to push content when it becomes available. If you can’t do an entire week but could go hard for 2-3 days we would also consider that. Ideally we would raid 10-12 hours a day for progression during the push, and then drop down to our normal 4 hour raids once folks are back at work. We understand that this level of commitment is not for everyone.

Open Spots: We have 1, potentially 2 spots open in this group. We need 1 melee dps, 1 bard (or mch).

Other Info: The current members of the raid group are fairly flexible and able to shift between jobs, so we may be able to accommodate other configurations. We have some members interested in trying out the new jobs, as well as the new skills for current jobs. Due to these changes we aren’t looking for specific classes, but people that can fill a role competently. For example, we would expect a caster to be able to play both BLM and SMN and be willing to switch between the two if one or the other is better for the group comp for a particular encounter. A good fit would be an individual or small group of friends that are passionate about XIV and are eager to compete with the big boys for World/Server firsts.



D-Chan: A hardcore mindset with more reasonable hours.

Raid Times: 8pm-12 (midnight) EST Monday-Thursday.

Progression Hours: Most likely the same times as listed above. May be extended if work schedules permit.

Open Spots: We are looking for 1 tank or 1 healer (pref PLD or SCH)

Other Info: An integral part of Modified since 2.3. D-Chan prides itself on timely kills without a crazy raid schedule. Expect a skilled group of MMO veterans that get the job done. Also, a very social bunch. Potential applicants should be happy to hang out in mumble.




Team Hodor: A “medium core” group of friends that joined Modified a few months ago.

Raid Times: 9-12:30pm EST Sun, Tues, Thurs, (possibly Mon).

Progression Hours: Most likely the same times as listed above.

Open Spots: We are looking for 1 bard (or MCH)

Other Info: Long time gamers that can’t commit an exorbitant time to raiding. This is a group that is very active in game, but due to real life commitments can’t raid hardcore. Ideal candidates would be very friendly with a relaxed attitude.

We expect applicants to be able to make raid times. We are only interested in people dedicated to playing XIV into the foreseeable future, maintaining that same level of commitment. We expect potential recruits to understand the ins and outs of their class, and have the drive and dedication to take on new content. More importantly, we want people that are decent human beings and fun to be around.

What we expect from applicants:

• Be able to take constructive criticism

• Be a PC player that uses a Mouse & Keyboard

• Use Mumble with a headset and push to talk

• Be a decent human being

• Be active in game and community

• Make our raid times

What to expect from us:

• A structured FC and raid environment

• A light-hearted but driven raid group

• A diverse community of people online (in game and on Mumble) outside of scheduled raid times (read: a bunch of nerds doing nerd things)
