Can We Get a Housing System Update for 3.0? New Wards Confirmation?

Basically what the topic says.

To my knowledge there has yet to be 100% confirmation that 3.0 will bring new wards to the existing city states. All we have had confirmed is that there will be no Ishgardian Housing Ward for at least 12-24 months.


What I am hoping for is entirely new (and different) wards for the cities instead of the clunkly sub-ward system. I know that is a pipe dream. But we need something.

Please give us confirmation that we are getting a large number of new housing wards with Heavensward's launch. Many servers are 100% full.

There was also talk on the forums about new features that allowed for the sale/transfer/upgrade from one house to another. Is this feature still being worked on? Will it make it into 3.0? If not, when? 3.1? 3.2? far future?

Lastly, there was also talk about Eternal Bond partners gaining access to their partner's housing. Is this still a thing? Can we get some more information on this.

Basically, those of us that are in love with housing have been left in the dark about the content that means the most to us. Please help us out with some information/confirmation. If not on the forums, can we get a blog or a Duty Commenced that discusses this type of content?

I'd love to see sharing of a house between partners. I also would love to get a house going, but it doesn't seem like houses go up that often ;P

This is because on most servers, homes are abandoned by people who quit months or over a year ago.

There is an FC on my server called The Returners. I have a thread on my server asking about the FC as I want to use the name, and more importantly, I want to utilize the abandoned housing spot. SE did not impliment any system to relinquish any housing plots due to crybabies.

Meh, it will only get fixed once SE implements a time limit for inactive subscriptions and a system to relinquish the Limited house plots.


I am curious about the sharing of a house with eternal bond members as well as friends list. Nothing has been said recently at all regarding any of this and it has caused me some concern.

Wouldn't hold your breath. The reason they gave for not having ishgard housing at launch was that the servers would already be under a crazy amount of pressure from all the other stuff being added. Housing is very server-intensive, so I doubt they're gonna add any more until they've had some time to see how the servers manage during launch. So your far more likely to get 100% confirmation that they're not adding new wards, especially not a large number.

I see on Reddit an interview from Nantes about the new ward for the housing is coming to 3.1. I hope the new ward come for 3.0 not 3.1 ^^

I'd love to hear those answers as well.

I currently, since housing first came out, own a guild house (S) together with my bonding partner. We then wanted to save up for an L but were a bit to late, suddendly everything was sold out, especially after the individual housing came... so we are currently sitting on millions of gil to buy an L plot, but nothing to buy, and it reallly has to be in thanalan too ._.

Buuut what we'd love, would be a heavensward housing districts; in the clouds <3 this would be totally awsome

I know I have read a few sources, one mentioning that they will have more housing available in 3.0 and another mentioning that they have an intention to introduce ishgard housing if there is enough interest but definitely not in the near future, I remember potentially in 2 years being mentioned.

Very least they should push it to 3.05 or something. While your Free Company doesn't require a house to take part in the Airship content in 3.1 (you can team up with another Free Company to use theirs), it would still be nice if Free Companies without an estate could at least get a shot at having their own. We can build Airships in 3.0 and send them off on Retainer Venture style missions, doubt anyone would really miss not having that, but to be spending 3.1 buying land, building a house, then buying the workshop and building an Airship, while everyone already with an estate already has built their Airships and are exploring the 3.1 content right away... That's pretty shitty...

I understand the server load issues. But when you are adding content that specifically requires housing and there is not nearly enough of said housing to go around, you need to give more access.

We have had conflicting responses that there may be new housing wards in 3.0 and some say 3.1. So I would like some confirmation. This may not be a huge deal on some servers, but on Gilgamesh there has been a total of 2 houses up for sale in months.

Part of it probably has to do with player reaction..

If the information was released that new wards won't be added til 3.1 or 3.2.. All the free plots on my server (currently around 10 mediums left in Goblet) would get snatched up by people who want to sell it for a profit.

Only reason these people don't do so is because of the ambiguity that there "might" be new wards coming in 3.0.

I've heard them mention new wards, I hope these come BEFORE the launch though, as trying to get one at the exact same time Heavensward launches would be chaos.

Prefer they add a retroactive timer to how long your account can be inactive before you lose your spot and get your money back to be honest.

I have been saying this for the 3 months I have been playing. Inactivity and not paying your sub to support the game in my opinion are qualifications for foreclosure and seizure of your property. This way housing is meant for who it should have been meant for, PAYING SUBSCRIBERS.

A reasonable timer could be something like 9 months inactivity, its enough time to have passed to fairly assume that the player might not be returning.

Honestly, I suppose it could be 3.05 but I have a feeling new plots will come 3.1 which is around September.

What was the last time we saw new plots added to the game anyway? 2.3? I've been sitting on a bunch of gil for months because somebody got the last available medium house in Ragnarok's Mist, and haven't heard anything for way too much time.
