Nice and Constructive Sonic, good job.
Anyway.
I believe that this is the sort of content that if managed well could be open world. With the new claiming system a couple of groups could easily band up to get through it! But at the same time, if they instanced it they could make it a much larger area and make it more of an adventure rather than squeezing it into the existing world.
i don't know ?
Let's wait to Bahyonne to pop and let's see :X
i actually hope this one is (and dont it is) instanced.
i really wish the pictures clickable to make larger, i really want to see that NM mask.
It's an open world instanced.
Like, leve!
to me it looks open world.
I think it's open world, like the elite areas in AION
Kaidan HQ and Kaidan Mine as example
There are enough unused areas in Eorzea which SE could reserve for big beastmen strongholds
wouldnt that require a spawn activator per player/party leader?
this post says its one location, occording to your theory that would mean its either like a behest so its limited by one group at a time or there will be several copies of the same NMs for each party activating it.
seems like open world like those other beastmen camps ive come across, only these are like their settlement counterpats.
I'd love for these to be the equivalent of Davoi in FFXI. Entire city zones for NPC's. Imagine a city the size of ul'dah populated entirely by enemy beastmen!
Fighting your way through respawnable mini-bosses to open gates. and then the final room boss could be an instance. so each group that shows up has to pop the door mobs, victory and move through. until you reach the final door and fight a mega boss :D
This method allows all the areas in between to be open areas that you can grind in!
I'm thinking this would make interesting open world content, but I guess we have to wait for someone to clarify... ONCE AGAIN. When will they learn that we need important details like this?
This could be very enjoyable content if SE takes the correct approach, and by correct approach, I mean make it as rich and expansive as the strongholds of FFXI. Include content; questing, variety of new beastmen, roaming and stationary "guards" so you can't sneak by, interactive objects, unique scenery, and unique loot.
These won't be instanced, surely.
But let's just assume now that the NM drops a premade item 10 times better than anything crafted to save ourselves the disappointment later.
I love how people say "no offence" right before or right after purposely offending someone. lol
I don't love them.
They have some good features though, despite many bad ones (antisocial games with no emphasis on community. Although TERA has a "political system").
FFXIV shouldnt undermine its strengths by emulating the bad features of other games which are only good in spite of them, not because of them.
When have the NM drops been 10 times better than similar crafted items? NQ crafted items are a little worse but HQ crafted items in a lot of cases are arguably better. Even in the cases where +1 HQ isn't better than the NQ NM items, the difference is almost negligible.
Gotta love MMO racism.
useless shit? not making the game better?!?!!? Beastman Stronghold should of been in the game from DAY 1!!!!
hmmm I wonder if...we'll get access to a Sylph Stronghold as well
I just really hope each stronghold will look unique to each beastman clan. I don't think it'll make sense for their architecture to be similar...
I probably shouldn't hold my breath though.
The sylphs are friendly. And they use illusion magic to protect their villages
are you serious?, crafted items with rare drops should be better, do you think that crafters level up only to repair your stuff?, come on, give them work and gil! >.>Quote:
