They don't care about cool effects or mechanics or even overall job strength/balance. To them, no planet-sized egis = summoner is a waste of a job and Yoshida has personally insulted each and every one of them to the very depths of their being.

explanation wasn't very clear, and I could be wrong, but what I gathered, they said there won't be anymore new roles (melee/ranged/tank), but they'd be expanding on those roles, and basically giving us new skins and animations for those roles, possibly having carbuncle?

This so much. Seems people were ready to have another low pixel model to hate and never use. I could understand the anger if summons were called constantly, but they're not, and the role that another egi would serve could easily be added to Garuda/Ifrit-Egi as later skills. Channeling the power of an actual primal as well with Dreadwyrm Trance and actually contributing to the battle with more than ruin/ruin after applying dots is more than an equal trade off.

To be fair, Summoners have been wanting new egis for like a year now. I can understand why they're not happy.

Yeah but there isn't much for them to do in regards to the summons they have now.
Instead, we may be getting the ability to change the way the summons look which I am ok with.
After all, most people wanted a new summon so that it would look different than Garuda, Ifrit, and Titan.

I think this suits the summoner more though. Channeling the power of bahamut is pretty cool and will finally change up the rotation a bit.

That doesn't even make sense either tbh. :| Like, what, we'll have to beat FCOB to unlock Bahamut's powers (like we had to defeat the primals before obtaining the Egis)...... -_- (I know that's not gonna be the case, but yeah, that's about how much sense it makes to me.)

Nah, you'll probably just solo Bahamut in a job quest and unlock his ability or whatever.

While iam happy that ONE guy likes the bahamaut stuff, most of us believe its stupid

Knowing that FCOB will be easy even for a casual in3.0 (we all know it will happen), this can be a good idea.
You start with the easier primals and Bahamut at level 60 or shortly before lv 60.

It does makes sense though, to not have new pets. We have tank, Ranged/AOE and Melee. While a new pet could give a further spin to this trinity, there is really no reason.

But the power of a King Primal, me likey.

The bahamut stuff is awesome, but I am a little upset because I was waiting a rework so we could feel more like true summoners

That still doesn't mean they can't be upset about the fact that they've been asking about other Egis since Levi and the Devs have been like "Oh yeah, totes" just to find out that they aren't getting them at all.

If devs listened to "most of you" we'd all have to suffer through massive lag, framerate drops and not enough characters displayed on-screen so you could play egi roulette with your 27 different full-primal-sized pets.

I think I'll side with that "one guy"

I dunno, sounds kinda cool story wise, while yes you might need to complete coil in order to unlock the skill/job quest what's wrong with that? Urianger will potentially find something out about Bahamut's power and said revelation will lend itself to the ability to harness that power to use to empower your other egis.

Oh really? Because it was like that with the FF11 summons? Noone is calling for planet sized summons, ones that are as big as the characters are fine. If you cant handle a few egis being bigger sized maybe you need a better rig

Exactly, summoners that dont summon anything but the same 3 pets over and over for years, i can deal with no getting primals to summon but no new egis is just dumb.

Hey your and individual too, you automatically assume because iam pro summoner not being a crap class that i want to summon Bahamaut and run around the city with him. I simply want the class to be fun and get some new egis and not stare at the same lame pets for another 2 years.

Guys, I've been hearing for months now that egis are useless. Now it is revealed that egis will get more abilities to be useful, we might get back carbuncle and we will be able to merge with bahamut and maybe other summons to deal all sorts of horrible damage. The reaction is: Why don't we get more egis? Well I thought you hate em.

We hate them in their current form if being being a stupid looking egi that sits there and has no interaction with summoners
