When/Why did you vote kick?

Let's look at the other side of this thread.

So, when/why did you vote kick a party member/s?

I haven't been in a party that has vote kicked someone, although I did 'kick' myself once from CC when learning to heal. I caused 3 wipes and the tank left (can't blame him really). The party was happy for me to keep going but I just felt under skilled. I said sorry, that I felt it was beyond me at that point in time and left.

I vote kicked once. Guy disconnected and didn't come back for 6-7 min.

Enthralling i know.

This has been the entirety of my kicking career. I often see myself out before things escalate out of control, dealing with drama is not an enjoyable part of my dungeon experiences.

Haven't initiated a kick as yet. But have voted yes for one. They were afking during Wod. Ain't nobody got time for that.

If you are on Elemental Data centre, which Tonberry is in, you would have a chance of meeting this player with the initials M.M. (can't name but the name rhymes due to Lalafell convention). You would probably kick him/her if you ended up in the same party. Only time I ever vote-kicked someone. Plays like a bot. And doesn't respond at all. Worst of all, he/she plays a Paladin. Doesn't use either stance despite being told in English, Japanese and auto-translate.

Pretty mundane stuff actually. Some tank in a 4 person dungeon zoned in and took off before the party was ready, got himself killed then warped back to start and swapped into a level 1 sailor shirt and immediately ran back out to pull the mob again. Tried for several mins or so before getting a kick through because the dum-dum had aggro on him almost constantly so we had to time the kick right so it went through right after he died and warped back. :P

I've only seen one vote kick that wasn't for a disconnected player. That was for a tank in a group who refused to play. The healer loaded in first and accidently pulled the first mob. The tank finished loading and started throwing a fit because we didn't wait for him to pull. He then thought he could sit there and do nothing because we need a tank and he is irreplaceable. So we kicked him and a new tank joined in about 20 seconds.

Kicked someone from WoD for disconnecting at the start of every boss fight and magically coming back after the boss was dead.

Sometimes I kick when someone's offline for long enough to make it seem like it wasn't just a simple disconnect. More often than that, though, I run into people who insist on being jerks for some reason. Either they refuse to do their job, or they're just rude as hell without provocation. Kicking those feels like such a relief. Luckily people like that aren't all too common, however.

AFKs, disconnects, and exceptionally vocal jerks are the only reasons I've ever kicked someone.

If a party member isn't particularly skilled at their job or at boss mechanics, it usually makes things more fun for me. The truly epic runs are never smooth, I don't understand why uneventful dungeons are so desired.

Same as most people above: either because the party member in question ends up as unreachable (disconnected), or in the instance of somebody acting in questionable ways (aka, being a jerk / disrespectful / actively hostile and harmful) towards the rest of the party and other alliances.

Never a matter of skill, but of practicality and mutual respect.

Aside from the understandably mundane reasons, I enthusiastically had a trollish Dragoon kicked out of our World of Darkness alliance yesterday.

There were a couple of new folks in the raid and this guy was deliberately yelling out false instructions on how to handle boss mechanics. Angra Mainyu? Keep accumulating ireful or sullen stacks he said, and then stand in FRONT of the boss. That is the win button! Totes!

We got rid of him before the next boss. While we're sure the new folks were smart enough (or at least familiar enough with the basic strategy tips) to do the opposite of what the guy commanded them to do (and embarrassingly, he broadcasted these false instructions to the whole raid...), we were not risking it for the upcoming bosses, and nor were we standing for this moron.

Kicked him for trolling and for leeching. He admitted also that he was not going to bother with his rotations. He was just planning to auto-attack his way through the whole raid.

Queued up for WoD with a few friends and some PUGs and got a MNK who would deliberately die and then go back to start so he would get locked out of the fights. The first time we saw it happen, we all figured it was a mistake, because who hasn't derped and hit return to start because they thought it was a raise?

When it happened at the next boss and the boss after that, however, we realized what was going on and vote-kicked him for leeching.

I have to agree with this. I do enjoy a seamless run, but those wild crazy ones are the runs that stay with you. They also tend to be the runs that throw out 'hero' moments.

Voted to Kick twice , First was when I was in the Dungeon and the Tank decided his Class needed to wear robes, Maybe he thought he was some sort of jedi master but it did not work.

Second time was in WoD Once this player Died they would refuse Rezz and Run to the Boss and Sit outside and Claim the loot , They usually lasted about 1 minute, After 3 bosses constantly doing this he was kicked.

I will initiate vote kick or vote to kick mainly for one of two reasons. Leeching or blatant trolling. I don't have much patience when people start playing games stepping out of boss fight barriers or going AFK when a boss comes up then somehow returning when it dies. Trolling is just pointless too and a waste of everyones time.

The only other time is when one person is a hindrance to everyone else because despite repeated explanations on what to do and people trying to help they are just not getting it and making the same mistakes over and over. It's not fair on everyone else.

I kicked a bard today because I thought he might have been a bot and I wasn't sure if we could honestly carry him. He also may have been just a new player as it was a low level dungeon and his highest level was 36, but I wasn't sure. He was playing mage ballad until he ran OOM, we tried to explain to him why he shouldn't do that and he just didn't respond.

On top of that he wasn't doing boss mechanics in any way, just going through is rotation on the boss until he died to mechanics. We tried to explain things to him but he didn't respond even once, I kind of felt bad because maybe he was new and just was too shy to say anything, but at the end of the day I wasn't really sure we could complete the dungeon with him since we were all leveling new class/jobs and no one was really able to carry.

I've kicked a couple times for AFK, a couple times for trolling but by far my favorite was...
when I first tanked Tam-Tara, at the beginning of my tanking so I was still nervous and relatively not too good. Go into the dungeon, two new players. Cool. I know the dungeon so that part isn't hard. Tell the rest I'm new at tanking, one says "cool" or something. So far okay...
until the lancer runs off and pulls everything up to the boss room.
Yeah okay. Being new I figured he just didn't know not to do that (I've met people like that). I ask him politely not to pull ahead of me, since I'm still learning how to tank. He responds by calling me terribly bad names. So like. Fine. I decide, fine, die. I don't care.
Well as soon as he dies he runs right back up and pulls the mobs again.
At this point the other members of the party are tired of this, too, so they tell him to stop so we can go on with the dungeon. He calls them names, too.

This is right at the beginning so we have to deal with this for five minutes before we can vote kick him. :( After we got a new DPS the rest of the run was fine.

I have a list of players I will vote kick just on principle. Basically any absolutely terrible players who, upon being given some polite advice, respond with "it's just a game lol." Very true, but I know of no team game or sport where people tolerate someone being a complete and utter shit, and I am under no obligation to play with people who are. Said list is rather small atm, but only because I started it last week. This kind of behavior is stupidly common.

AFKs, disconnected for more than 5 minutes, or people who are very rude and/or verbally abusive.

My last vote kick was a BLM who, after telling another BLM to pass the casting hat because they wanted it, lost the roll and responded in alliance chat with 'F--- you b----' and 'S--- my d--- you c---' to the person who won calling them out by name. People were like 'if you're so unhappy about it you can always leave' so they said 'right and wait 30 min you dumba--' and said they were going to stand there and do nothing until they got kicked. Of course I had already initiated the kick vote after the first two things the said. Looked up their character profile, turns out they were actually from my server though I didn't recognize them as I have display names turned off by default. Funny thing is, they have not been back online in the game in the week and a half since this happened.

I wonder why that is.

- Kicked a SMN only spamming Ruin throughout every fight in ST hoping for a lazy carry, then decided to hang out in the Amon room hoping nobody would notice. Managed to kick her before the fight started so she has to do it all over again.

- Kicked another SMN from Qarn pulling before everyone even when the tank asked him not to. He proceeded to call him a bad tank and pulled out Titan before continuing to pull everything and badmouthing the tank. Kicked him before the last boss.

- Kicked people who were DCed / Offline

- Kicked a MNK on Ultima HM for not even trying to dodge AoE or help with mechanics.

Probably a few more but those are the most memorable

-Kicked someone who was d/ced like 10 minutes. Found out later their power was cut off. (Ended up in another group with them again lol!)

-Kicked someone who was being a douche bag to a new player - It was actually two people/ had to report. Healer and Brd. They stood by the entrance refusing to do a dungeon with "new player" (green bud next to name).

-Kicked someone who asked to be kicked for rl issues.

-Kicked someone who asked to be kicked because they had to repair.

-Other reasons are mostly trollers

-Kicked an obvious bot.

What if your parents call you?

It was LNC once, in Toto-Rak. Obviously, this guy just straight up rude.

The tank has the newbie notice, so I thought we should do it slow.

The LNC proceeded to cross class Flash and start pulling. Tank can't pull off agro.

Got rid of him before the second boss. Why? Because he was rude and inconsiderate. And arrogant as fk.

My parents call me all the time... since it's not on the phone I have to get up and see what they want. Usually I'll ask them how important it is...sometimes you just gotta say "brb, being called" and suck it up if they kick you.

Don't let in-game stuff interfere with real life, especially if it's important enough.

Did my first vote kick today (and yes, I'm a newbie :p). Had this guy just plain old go off on the healer for snagging a piece of loot on 'need' instead of 'greed'. Now, to be fair, the healer said they were sorry pretty much immediately. The way the other DPS went off on him was unreal. The tank and I pretty much told the DPS to calm down and he did. Then...he started off on the tank for wiping in a boss battle. Then started on the healer again. Then started on the tank. Not sure how I got away with it, but I guess there's only so much havoc I can cause sticking MOBs in the behind with a pointy stick. >.>

So we kicked him for being an elitist so and so. Not the first time I've seen this and won't be the last time but just wish people had more patience. Everyone makes mistakes, but oh well. *shrug*

Only kicked people for afk and offline, when it is for offline I usualy wait some mins giving them a chance to get back online.
I have however had one time when a player asked to get kicked but we refused to, well reason for the refusal was that in the middle of the first pull this player for no reason started insulting everyone being rather rude and using language that can be seen as harassment followed by asking to get kicked, so we said no telling said player that we would rather see him get them 30mins. Short story we sat the time out with this player hurling insults left and right, then report time with a bunch of evidece of what said player had said. Personally if I run into one of those community poisoning players I don't kick, instead I let them dig themselves a bit deeper and report them, a warning or even a short ban will hopefully teach them to act properly.

People like the one you described might as well report themselves, they make it so easy.

Only really kicked douchebags. And one crazy ninja who kept running into rooms of mobs dropping Katon everywhere for no real reason and then dying.

I vote kick quite frequently, but it's (almost) never because of incompetence, it's the DF and people need to learn some how so and I'm willing to teach. I vote kick when there's issues, like a person is being a jerk, or someone D/C's for a considerable time.

The only time I ever did a vote kick was when a person, a healer, on titan kept gettin hit with his knock off attack. After seven deaths I didn't think he was going to get the hang of it any time soon and it was my daily random on a dps class AND AH NEEDED MAH SOLS!

Another time I did vote abandon only because a healer left on Garuda and for what ever reason no healers were queuing and after 15 minutes I said to hell with it.
