What ever happened to the hype that we would be able to capture a primals essence and then use it in battle once a week and it would be announced server wide when it was and against what. This was announced in beta and talked about in several early live letters even after official release. One FC would be able to go out and capture the primal essence once a week and if it wasn't used that week then it dissipated and would then be back up for grabs the start of the next week.

I was hyped for this (until it went over a year without being mentioned once, only to finally resurface as "Delayed"), but yeah... There isn't really anything we could use them for at the moment anyway. Killing an S Rank in one hit? That's about it... This game needs something like Campaign where a group with Ifrit can come in and turn the tide. That would be awesome. At this point I'd be more hyped to hear content like that is planned than FC Summoning actually getting a release date. -

Look at what hapened when odin or behemot were up, servers crashed etc. Also how would you handle a free roaming Leviathan ? It is like housing for everyone, it is not gonna happen (even if they were both highly advertised before 2.0 launch), their poor servrs can't handle all the stress. Probably will see them as a lv 3 LB for summoner.

The whole server isn't going to show up to get one Free Company Ifrit for a week, just that Free Company will. People assume a FATE based on the benchmark but I'm fairly sure they ruled that out at the time, saying it was just for show (like the giant turtle). I find it more likely that they'd make a special instance and the first group to beat the Primal in it gets to summon him that week, or they could plop them in the open world, but I imagine they'd have special zones for it which are a bit more challenging (Beast Tribes all have strongholds/regions which could be expanded upon to fill this need). Really doubt it would be the same as Odin. -

They probably need to have a lore-related reason and way for FCs to summon them.
So far, with Auracite(?) there's atleast a temporary way to contain an aetherial being when it comes to lore. -

Wasn't the entire point of the story to prevent the primal from being summoned? Besides, it was said that they are literally harmful to the environment, because they consume massive aether and are summoned during times of chaos. I think they're taking so long, because they don't want to betray the lore of the game.
