Warning do not download the add-on for heavensward on console

Do not download this add on as if you do then you will no longer be able to play ffxiv, the only fix is to re-install the game and leave the add-on unchecked. The error message you will receive is "unable to complete version check [20458][24530][20457][404]".
Next time SE make sure that we are unable to even use the codes in the PSN store until the actual download works and doesn't mess with console players ability to play the game.

Thank you for this report. I have reported this concern that you (and others) have reported, and we are looking into it currently. I will keep this thread open to provide any updates based on our investigation.

Thank you for helping us with this matter. Its quite alot of work to redownload and install from disk.

wait we can download or redeem the heavenward codes? i haven't had any e-mails saying i can (eu ps4) nor does the lodestone say we can redeem our codes D: only windows computers currently can someone please give some advice for this D:

I haven't got an email from SE saying I can redeem codes on the PSN yet. I tried to register on their website Saturday and were told the codes aren't available yet. Did I miss something?

so far no e-mail has been sent and Lodestone only has information on windows, version of the game. unless the two who have reported this can shed some light i question the legitimacy on there downloads D:, mostly because theres no information about this D:

Yep I claimed code for PS3, but still haven't gotten the actual code for the stuff yet.

I have a feeling that the OP is probably mentioning the method to pre-order the expansion from the PS Store, not the pre-order code itself. (or is that add-on to claim the code you get after claiming PS3/PS4 pre-order codes on the Lodestone?)

Same here after my purchase (NA PS4) I just got the one code to put into the heavensward website but I have yet to receive another email so I am confused too

And there's still no preorder up on PSN so... /shrug

Whatever it is, it was enough to garner a community rep response within 15 minutes so I don't think the validity is in question quite yet.

the code you received when you went to the preorder website is used on psn store, if you enter that code on PSN at the redeem code section it will download the add-on however this will cause you not to be able to play the game and give an error code. I made the mistake of doing this thinking that i could redeem it already. Dont make my mistake but wait for SE to send you a message or a response from the devs on here

Heres a question for u to think on y does psn recognize the code in the first place as there is nothing there to download yet it should have came up as invalid

Okay since that was cleared up, try waiting til the day that the Early Access actually works to download that add-on...that could be what stops the game from working...cause there isn't access to the EA yet.

Greetings, all! We are still looking into this to try to find a better resolution than deleting and reinstalling the game. It's certainly a timely process that we would like to avoid, although it will resolve this problem for people who are already affected. Currently, we have determined that this is only impacting EU customers, since they have access to the pre-orders right now. If I have additional information to share, I will be sure to provide it.

If you do need to reinstall, you can either do so directly from the disc or from the PSN library while making sure not to select the Heavensward add on. You should be able to download that again separately in the future.

huh i just entered mine and got the code accepted , of corse i didn't download it though thanks tot his warning, but thats odd how this is only for the EU, i hope this dosnt affect our early access or pre-order bonuses i'm keeping an eye here for up to date news

A news announcement was posted on the EU Lodestone, since this is an EU-specific issue. However, since the concerns about this have reached a wider audience, I wanted to make sure the announcement was more generally known. We are still investigating what caused this, so that we can work towards a resolution that will allow the use of the code without this download issue. In the meantime, please hold onto those codes and keep an eye on the Lodestone for any additional announcements.

Why does this make me think Sony Europe thinks themselves the bee's knees. While this is very much an indication that it IS Sony that's keeping Heavensward off PSN (outside of Europe), this isn't the first time Sony Europe has put up something that noone outside of Europe can get. Case in point, the XIV PS4 Theme. Yes, there IS a XIV Theme on PSN for the PS4, but only in Europe last I checked. Real bugger, that.

The amount of stuff New Zealand misses out on in regards to PSN stores is disgusting, so i'm glad i have access to the theme.

i do have to ask, for those (myself now included) who did enter our codes and have the Add-on in our library (and not downloaded onto ffxiv) will we have to have a new set of codes or will this add-on be the thing we need to download once the early access is avalable.

I feel like I should hijak this thread with a rant about all the other issues (in game) FFXIV suffers from, since seeing a SE employee respond to anything in forums is like seeing Batman and Bruce Wayne in the same room at the same time.

how about you kindly make your own thread to complain about SE while this thread remains what it is, something to help PS3 and PS4 players with an issue that can corrupt and cause us to FULLY reinstall a now 40GB game

Just trying to keep this thread to its original intent a warning to PS3 and Ps4 players that was then turned into thread where Enkrateia keeps people updated with information on how to sort this out :3

i have seen a lot of threads on the first page of people complaining so if someone came in here wanting to hijack it to complain , they can just join onto another thread, or create there own :3 otherwise a thread that takes a while turn away from its original purpose will get locked and then none will get help until SE tells us which can be at anytime randomly in the future.

Is good that you fixed this but is there a chance you could give us an actual answer as to when we will be able to actually preorder HW from the PS store? Please don't say soon cause all SE has been saying is the same soon BS.
