Probably because moderators tend to move/close those threads when they get put in General discussion.
But, no, I don't find it annoying. If they're willing to take players from other servers it's relevant/valid information.
I find it annoying because you end up having to scroll through a ton of them to find decent threads, but there's really no general server/recruitment forum for them to go in so people just have to keep copy pasting multiple threads to advertise a single group.
I don't find it annoying at all. Often times, people are very willing to switch servers if they find a good group. There's nothing wrong with recruiting, IMO.
I wish there was a recruitment community forum for those willing to transfer (like the recruitment subreddit). That way we don't need to spam several different forums just to be seen.
Aye, and catch a 10-day temp ban for "spamming" like I did when I was trying to recruit cross server.
I posted a recruitment thread in 10 different server sub forums over the course of 2 weeks. I didn't do it over night so I didn't think it would be an issue but apparently I was wrong.
Now I just have 1 recruitment thread on my home server sub forum and I will respond to individuals looking for a FC in each sub forum.
Yeah which is also a mess because then you're sifting through tons of other stuff too, more often than not it's become:
> Thread "Looking for static"
> Mouse over and hope the popup text says their job
> If it doesn't open the thread and see
> Be disappointed it's not what you're looking for and move on
I would love a moderated recruitment forum with the same rules as the xiv recruitment subreddit. Simply because there are many that don't use reddit and vice versa.
EDIT: and I really don't enjoy spamming the same copy-paste recruitment post every time anyway :/
A few months back I posted in three forums around the same time, they didn't ban me but I got a warning and two of them were deleted.
The thing I find most annoying about it is when I go to my servers forum and see something for a static recruitment I get excited because id like to join one for progression but then it's like
GOD .... IT ITS FOR ANOTHER SERVER.
all ways a big let down.
I find this really really annoying. My server isn't really big on progression but that is slowly changing. Theres an fc and several ls's on my server that is dedicated to helping people get their clears. In my eyes, it is kinda pointless to transfer to another server. People please stop doing this. Especially the people that come to a server group/forum just to make snide comments as well -.-
To each their own I suppose. My FC has 20 members that are transfers that I met on these sub forums or reddit. I myself was a server transfer because my original server is much what you described your current one to be.
I do agree on the last part of your post tho.
Theres a guy on my server that likes to be silly and he basically photobomb'd a bunch of ppl in Mor Dhona and posted it on our server forum. Some person from another server was wondering why a mod didn't take it down. He didn't do anything wrong -.-
-Back to the subject- I mean if you are really needing progression for the coils and such then I guess I can understand?? But I mean my server we do have a community that helps people get their clears for FREE. Though there is some fcs that try to sell the turns and primals as well. If there is a group that is willing to help you clear content, then I don't see why anyone would need to transfer. I guess this is the point I was trying to make.
Not all servers share those sentiments. Just because one server has an FC or LS devoted entirely to helping people, doesn't mean they all do.
I've transferred servers multiple times because I would get into FCs that claim to be active and helpful and they end up being ghost towns (meaning no one ever says anything or does anything together) or high-school type cliques full of catty drama.
Not to mention, some servers (as you previously mentioned) have little to no end-game raiding going on. The first server I was on was nothing but hunt parties all day, every day. You never saw anyone wanting parties for SCOB (that was the highest raid back then).
