You can download the benchmark on your PC, you just will not be able to transfer the save character creation over.

What are you referring to? It is on Sunday night - it releases on Monday at 12am PST.

why? stats mean noting in ffxiv they don't scale so losing 1-2stats mean noting.

Yoshi surely knows how to publish new information in an appropriate format...

Also, those 'scales' surely look odd as there's no transition between skin and scale which makes it look like some 'scale accessories'. Not as apparent with white as with the dark ones.
I don't want to say it but I see a Miqo'te and a Hyur with 'scale accessories' there. Though they do have unique enough faces on their own which is nice.

And last but not least someone go cheer them up, they look all so sad... :c

It looks either like accessories, or with the right color choices, some sort of weird skin condition.

Which I'm strangely okay with.

I'm more wary of the horn/hair clippings, I think it can be worked around though. ^^;
I don't see sadness in them, just looks like normal characters to me. That being said... I may be officially ready to enter a growth spurt from my potato state. >_>

Same here, with red hair for my Au Ra - I wanted that hair-style for him ever since I saw the concept art (I was really hoping they'd put it in as an option! xD)

Hmm, I wonder if the horns are tied to the face type? Regardless, I am really liking them so far. So excited for the benchmark!<3

And hopefully we can finally solve the mystery of earrings on Au Ra. Crossing my fingers that the benchmark will have an outfit preview that includes them! xD
