Where do you guys find a party for it? Also what's up with the party search function anyone even using it?
i havent seen party search function used since beta + you shout in ul'dah for approx 8 hours or get a ls and beg people.
I've had a lot of luck shouting in Ul'dah, haven't had to wait longer than 20-30 min when I've made parties at peak times. There's still a nice amount of people interested with people returning/starting new.
Just make sure that everyone has the prerequisites done (Imperial devices accepted, and if you aren't doing Gridania's version, talking to a NPC in the Lancer's Guild).
At risk of repeating the same ol same ol...
Find a good linkshell. If you can join a group of helpful players, then it should be easy enough getting a 4man party together. ^^
Either that, or shout in Uldah
Just hang out by the entrance, prob get an invite in 5-10mins.
Shout at Ul'dah works wonder, make sure you state what level range. Alot of people used totorak alot from r25-r35 as form of SPing .
That;s quite weird... look for a group in uldah for a pty in Gri.... SE really needs to do something with that search tool, plus it is awfully over comoplicated.
They should make something similar to WOW and keep it simple, chose the reason for the pty (dungeon, sp, etc) and then chose your role...recruit!
Oh yeah like was mentioned, give a SP Range (the lowest level needs to be within 5 levels of the highest one) when you shout and state how many people you have, some people will jump at the chance if the group is close to being complete.
I also wish more used the search tool but people can't be bothered, hopefully it will see more use when they make a tutorial and I'm hoping they add a 1-click seek party function soon.
Playing on the Kashuan server is nice because your not bothered by anyone, But when you need 3 other players just forget it. One of my friends called me to go to totorak he had 2 people, the 4th guy ended up not being able to make it though. I really wish I had known about the party search feature then. =(
Got to try it this weekend for the first time and i must yes it's a pretty cool dungeon. SE sure did a good job on that one, im glad. I was on my GLD, with a ARC, a CONJ and a THU.... all four of us running around the dungeon killing monsters felt like an old school final fantasy game for some reason.. it was very fun.
Tangentially related to this topic, but... in 1.19 we will relax the restrictions on the number of players that can take part in an instanced raid. We will change it so that a party of 2-4 can tackle Toto-Rak, and a party of 4-8 can take part in Dzemael.
That's great. I only have 2 friends, Their both in different time zones so only one is on at any given time. I can FINALY tackle Toto-Rak. \(^_^)/
That's good news, it will make it easier to get XP groups together for these zones for us smaller LS's.
Nice! Will this be the standard for future raids, allowing as few as half the maximum?
Will the difficulty scale with the number of participants or will it be constant?
Oh cool, was not expecting that change. I still haven't had a chance to do either runs.
i have to say thats great news. ease of opportunity in certain areas of a game is fantastic!
Yay!! :D \o/
Is there a reason why Toto-Rak can't be equipped to handle a full party? I think 2-4 people is great but can you imagine being able to bring 2-8 people, it would be insane (if the difficulty was higher). I also like the idea of being able to bring a light party into Dzemael, I don't know how many times I'd fill up my A&B groups and still have people asking to be put on the standby list.
This new feature will definitely alleviate some of the pressure off of Linkshell leaders and their officers; it will make it so people could form a group and go casually (I imagine the difficulty would be lowered, if not; just killing the mobs in there for sp/xp would be good enough I guess).
I think that a feature should be added as to where the party leader can choose the difficulty before entering. Some people might want Batraal to be a little easier, while I'm sure some people that are used to the dance by now want it a little more challenging, maybe add more Skele's or make the ghosts pop more often. Also I think we should be given a looting system of some sort and I hope everyone agrees with me.
If they add 5-8 in totorak, it would requires alot of adjustment and balancing to keep it challenging for the extra people, tons of people will get mad if they decide to spend time on this rather than other important things ingame.
No, to the easier dungeons, keep current difficulty, if they wish to add something like heroic mode in the future, sure.
Dont forget that if you have 8 people for toto-rak you can just split into 2 groups and have more shots at gear and stuff =P
Toto-Rak is gonna be packed of people seeking Torturer's Monocles after the patch..
That's cause the monocle is so stylish! Of course maybe they will add other monocles, I'm hoping for some higher rank crafted ones.
I was hoping for a response on the party search feature. That effects so many more aspects of the game than just the dungeons but it's nice to see the alleviation of entry requirements.
I know they've already said it but they also need to fix the party member dc'd issue where they can't re-enter. Sooner rather than later would be preferable.
I thought a fix to that was coming this patch? I know we had a dev post on it but it was a while ago.
They should scale all Members/gear down to R25 >.>
It'll just turn into an R50 CON walking 7 R25s through dungeon.
You can already steamroll with a R50 anyway. People initially complained a lot about it, but after it was implemented most people wanted to do the dungeon at r25-30 anyway.
Please don't change the difficulty of the raids after this change. The R50 one is already easy enough with 8. Maybe adjust the difficulty according to the amount of players in there? Just a thought to keep everyone happy.
Oh really, that's pretty nice then, I'd like to help people out with it and both THM and CON are out of that level range now.
I like the thought of going in with my alt and soloing it lol. Might turn out to be a nice place for soloing SP in the 30s. I can't remember what the mobs are like, only been in once and that was a rush to complete the quest.
OMG Finally! :D
There would have to be varying difficultys in the R45 raid depending on your party size. A team of 4 is gonna have a much harder time than a team of 8 if the difficulty stays the same no matter what your party size is.
I agree. This is not talked about at all in up coming patches stated by the letters from the producer. If you wonder why not a lot of people party in general this is why, because the like the linkshell administration the party administration is completely broken. At least give us a proper party seek function like in xi where you could search all zones for people seeking for parties.
