[Poll] Loosen GC Restriction

Not everybody cares about GC allegiance, a great number of us just want better queue times & the ability to PVP alongside our friends without restriction.

It appears that we can't persuade you to remove it so we're begging you heavily loosen the restriction in some form or another.

The idea is neat & the merit exists, however, it's slaughtering PVP.

Not only that, it's spoiling & ruining the experience for a great lot of us.


Proposals:

1) A Solo-Full Party "Random GC" Frontlines Queue.

2) A Duo-Full Party Option to temporarily Ally with the FC or Party Leader's GC.

3) Untie PVP Rank from GC Affiliation (make it character-based/universal).


It's very important you don't simply do #3...

Even though it will help tremendously & needs to be implemented regardless, I don't think I should be forced to be pirate-themed or my friends forced not to in order to ally in Frontlines... I hate pirates, they love them; especially with how the gear is set up, it would feel pretty lame for any one of us to be forced away from the colors/gear of the GC we like. It already does feel that way since that's currently our only option.


Everyone, please vote 1, 2, and/or 3 (or other) with explanation & support this needed change.

Eh, admittedly I did miss that thread but I scanned through 4 pages of threads & searched.

The options are a slight bit different though & the way he handles the request is quite different (unbiased opinion, leaves gc-tied pvp rank out of it, etc.).

As my GC sucks big time, I was trying to change GC today. I wasn't aware PvP exp and rank was tied to GC, and as I'm rank 41 atm and the fact that there is a 15 day cooldown between changes made this even more ridiculous.

As it is I'm stuck in a terrible PvP GC (adders).

So I'll have to give it some thought. Option 3 seems nice (see above) but I would most likely vote 1.

SE, you're killing PVP for us PVP fans by enforcing such a restrictive system :/

Game needs this very desperately. Wouldn't hurt to allow people to play with their friends who could care less about GC.

Would make for a fun lore-based explanation too, "mercenaries for hire" or wandering adventurers who pledge to any cause.

3 sounds the best but to be honest I will take anything that speeds up queue times.

A combination of 3 and a Mercenary system, given SE doesn't seem to want to remove the restriction at all. They might not pop by here to say "No" to it, but Slaughter and whatever we're getting in 3.0 seems like a pretty big "No" to that suggestion to me.

Only possible issue with 3 is the Achievements tied to PvP Rank, but I can't imagine it would be too hard to simply have the game check what your maximum PvP Rank is out of the three Grand Companies. If you're Rank 45 with the Immortal Flames, that should determine your AP and what PvP gear you can wear. If you switch to Twin Adder and are thus Rank 1 with them, you still have Rank 45 with the Immortal Flames, so you should still have access to a Rank 45s AP and gear choices. Should be a fairly simple thing to work out.

Grand Company related Glamours are the only issue then, so just give us a Mercenary system. If you queue with friends, the party leaders Grand Company is what is used, with players in different Grand Companies being Mercenaries. If you queue solo, give us the option to queue as a Mercenary to fill the other teams ranks if needed. Still prioritize putting players in their own Grand Company, but if 9 Twin Adders, 7 Immortal Flames, and 8 Maelstrom are queuing, put that 9th Twin Adder with the Flames to speed up the queue. Perhaps have something similar to the Grand Company Levequest reward system, where if you do a Grand Company Levequest for your Grand Company, you get a bonus to the rewards, except for Frontlines perhaps do the reverse to add incentive to actually win; If you're a Twin Adder fighting for the Immortal Flames, there is a bonus for you for doing so, with the bonus being greater if you help them come first. That would hopefully prevent people from effectively throwing a match to help their true Grand Company win.

Aiiiraaa, you changed to the wrong GC! Should have come Mael with me :D

I wish this would be addressed at some point. :/ Even just bringing it up to the developers, because it's really an issue that needs attention.
