Hmm...When you point it out, I can sorta see the similarity, but I doubt it was intentional. Her personality is nothing like Satsuki Kiryuin's and she uses a pair of daggers rather than a single longer sword (or two slightly shorter swords), and the similarity is pretty vague as well, so I'm gonna go with it being a coincidence.

TBH, I thought Yugiri was one of the most lackluster reveals. Her image looks ordinary as can be to me... it looks like her horns are cutting through her hair instead of parting around it.

Watch. Just watch. She's gonna turn out to have been a Garlean collaborator the whole time and will give us a speech about how subjugation is liberation or whatevs.

I actually am thinking that

Lucia is a Garlean. She has the distinctive white hair that Garleans seem to share, and she has the circlet blocking her forehead, but if you angle your camera you can see she has the Third Eye that all pure-blood Garleans have. Either she's working with them as an undercover operative, or she, like Cid, chose to abandon her homeland. It will be interesting to get more of her story in 3.0.

This is a popular traditional Japanese hairstyle, which is why Yugiri has it since Doma is obviously FF14's Japan equivalent.

Truth be told, I didn't really find a big appeal in Yugiri's design. But this is just me..I need to play with the Au'Ra character creation when it's released. :X

No, The village Oboro and Tsbame are from is still around, it could be that not all of Doma was destroyed.

My girlfriend is from Vietnam, and she may want to play this character race. In Vietnamese culture, they believed that their ancestry was from dragons. Yugiri's face looks a lot like my girlfriend's, only that my girlfriend is more tan than the skin tone chosen for Yugiri.

The male Au ra in this screenshot has a very tan complexion hopefully this skin tone will be available for the females as well :O

No, not really.

Man, be happy we even got the game. I hate it when people complain about Dubs vs Subs war. Adding voices to video games was the worst mistake in gaming history. People become too lazy to read, complain about a voice not fitting the character. Complain that Dubs breaks their immersion. It's really sickening to be honest. Westerners have no right to complain about a game that was originally released for a certain country. Don't like how the game was handle? Go buy it in the original language. Don't understand the language? Too bad.

sorry, but XIV wasn't released for only japan, it was released for most of the world, since there's sub and dub in multiple languages, and it was released at the same time, world-wide.

it's ridiculous to tell ppl to buy the game in original language, or stfu; they have localization teams for the very reason, to make the game available and enjoyable to everyone around the world. if they had intended to only release the game for japan, they wouldn't have bothered with localization, or releasing the game elsewhere, and enforced IP restrictions.

She reminds me a bit of the actress who played Winnie Cooper on "The Wonder Years"...

I feel that hair makes it very generic. A lot of anime girl's have that hair making them look similar. Seems to be popular. I still like it, even though it's commonish.

I kinda don't like Yugiri, the white haired girl SE shows in Au'ra revelation is more beautiful.

That's cool, but again. This game is made from JP devs, there will be biases in it. As for being released outside of JP, that's the localization team's job to decide how they they want the characters to sound or speak.

True, but anything outside a worldwide release, no I don't agree. As for people who don't play it, no. If you bought a product, then your are entitled to your opinion or if the Dev is looking for feedback. Meaning, you would have had to played or watched the product in the first place.

It's because they aren't a translation team, they are a localization team. There is a difference.

When they localize a game, they word the sentences in a way they feel the average American will understand. Sure they get creative like with Midgar, but honestly I'm fine with that. JP translations are sometimes bland and I feel are all the same after awhile. Lolis, Generals, Teens all sound the same sometimes and lack some characteristics to them. This is my opinion and I know some people don't like that. That's fine as everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but thankfully we don't have to always listen to them.

Didnt say anything before since its an obvious desperate troll looking for attention but I did find it ironic how some random idiot on the forums of a japanese video game, based on a japanese IP, goes on to insult someone for referencing ONE character from ONE single japanese anime (and quite popular) with a derogatory word used for people who are obsessed with Japan to the point of dressing, acting, talking, and consuming everything Japanese.
