300$ for a tiny dragon statue, a blu-ray and book.
Jesus, that's absolutely ridiculous.

I think I'll just get the standard edition, I've already seen all the bloody trailers and the concept art will be online within the month. The dragon statue isn't anything like it was originally made out to be and is definitely not worth the majority of the cost of this CE.

i'm just gonna get digital collectors, a lot cheaper and at least get the in game stuff like a fantasia which will be useful if the benchmark in april proves to me au ru are worth becoming

Even as someone who has been campaigning to get info on CE and is a diehard fan... $300 simply is too much

I could buy this for 300AUD with serious buyer's remorse

I could order a CE from USA, pay for exportation to AUS (~70) AND buy a 2nd AUS CE digital for about the same price... xD

OR...

Just pay for 16-18 months of subs plus digital CE for about same price, and be fully paid off with sub costs right up until 4.0 (or close to)! xD

If this was a stand-alone game or the initial release I could possibly try and justify it but .. for an expansion that is really disheartening.

Here's to hoping SE learns from this and makes the next expansion more reasonable.

It's the physical content.

We got pawned hard cause it seems our supplies are from UK where prices are already outrageous.
NA CE $130 and UK CE £130

As we are classified under pal region... we are bound by UK pricing which is disheartening...

Addtional A$230 for ArtBook, wittle dragon sculpture, bluray and special boxing...

When I say that, I mean more in relation to their distribution channels as we clearly had the original FFXIV Collector's Edition for a much more reasonable price than this. Though logistics wise it wasn't as big and cumbersome, I'm sure if they planned better in advance they could work something out.

Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain Collectors Edition selling for $100 in US, UK for £130 and in Australia... A$250...

I was so certain that it would be between A$275 - $300

Plus Shipping + GST + Profit made it so expensive...

Unless repackaging and have their own distributing centre here, we won't see this happening for some major products :(

Price is set by what the market can bear.

Australians, in the past, have paid stupid amounts for AAA titles and people will buy this CE also for the $300 and reinforce to sellers that they can keep increasing the prices.

The only way to stop these kinds of prices is to stop paying them.

I can only hope, the next expansion they don't try to screw people over, i mean its not about the collector edition being expensive but the fact that it was so limited and mismanaged that Europe and Australia started to panic over.
And this made us feel unwanted and made our exceptions low to the point of begging and when we do get it its somehow overpriced. now eb games could say its because local suppliers forced them to sell for $300 but this is just plain out unacceptable.

For the next expansion Square Enix, for the love of god don't short out the Euorpe/Oceania again.
And try to sell physical on the Europe square enix store if you have too.
Because at this point it feels like rejection more then supply management.

I could say the same for triple AAA movies with making the final movie a part one and two because soooooooooo many of them are doing that now but that is million people watching those movies. Telling millions of people to stop watching is time consuming because they wont get the message right away.

I prefer physical over digital... call me a traditionalist. I admit, if I see the CE digital for a good price (If it comes to AU PSN that is...), I might look into it. As it is, a friend of mine is getting the physical and offered to get me a copy as well... not my money I'll spend if I get the physical.

And... I'm not a fan of online shopping. I've been burned a few times in the past, so decided to go back to physical only.

EB Games must be slow to update their site as despite saying 'preorders open Monday 30th at 12PM' on their Facebook page (presumably 12 PM EST), the Collector's Edition is nowhere to be found on their AU site. Figures I guess...

I wont be buying it on sheer principle. I always get CE when i can because..well CE but 300 upfront online is just greedy plain and simple.
