Error 2002 only on my data center

keep getting error 2002 for my data center
server - midgardsormr
data center - aether

now with this said i can connect to other data centers but my own...this has been goin on since 7am eastern...i have tried all that i can to get on but nothing works...and of course on all days to have a issue is a day the call center is closed :/

anyone else having this issue or is it just me?

i now cant connect to primal or chaos as well and i was able to before

I'm getting the same error trying to connect to the Primal data center.

EDIT: My issue is resolved now.

Same here. Primal and Chaos are both giving me the 2002 error.

No way to reach them on the weekends, either.

They have a paid service that runs 24/7, and they provide 0 technical support on the weekends? Nice.

Quick update...

Elemental, Gaia and Mana I can connect to. I can't connect to the others. I'm actually on Chaos, so... no bueno here.

I just tried again same thing here can get on the first 3 but can't on the last 3....getting so mad I pay for a service that's always messed up

Did some more testing...

Decided to try a tracert to my server, after several hops, the last one it hits is for: if-3-2.tcore1.W6C-Montreal.as6453.net, with an IP of 66.198.96.45.

After that, it's all time-outs.

It's a company called Tata Communications (america), in Montreal, Canada.

So, I don't know if the problem lies there, or with the first hop after it leaves there.. but that's where the problem seems to be. So, I guess we have to wait 'til whom ever deals with this stuff gets it fixed.

It's not affecting friends of mine, whom I guess go through a different provider and, hence, have a different route to the server. They're online and playing fine.

So... hopefully it's fixed soon!

yea my brother and friends are having no issue at all they are all online...so i guess it is what it is...

Who's your Internet Provider? Mine is Time Warner. I called them and asked if they could help with tracking the issue down... as might be expected, they were pretty much useless. Told me "your modem is showing a strong signal", even after I told them the problem wasn't with my internet connection...

same here i have time warner and they are always useless lol

fast update i download a program called WTFast and it is now letting me on useing that....but if i dont use that to start the game up i have the same issue....so worth a short trying for yourself hope it helps for now till they figure out whats going on

Im on ps4 and have had this issue since midnight. i also cant sign in to the last the servers and im primal so yea. Anybody find a workaround besides that program WTFast?

Need to get escalated to Tier3 support...those lower tier guys can only look into and address your localized connectivity issues. This is a problem upstream along the route they have assigned you to get to Ormuco in Montreal. More specifically, it appears to be an issue with the routing partner they've chosen (TATA). They can work with TATA on your behalf or otherwise switch you to another routing partner--they have agreements with both Level3 and Cogent they can use.

I've gone through this with them multiple times over the years, and not just for XIV. It can be handled through them... but you NEED to be dealing with Tier3 suppot. And, you have to request the escalation also. Helps if you tell them you have reports detailing elevated lag and high packet loss along specific routes that you need to forward to Tier3. Alternatively, you can bypass the guys on the phone and go to the TWC forums, broadbandreports.com forums (they have one specifically for TWC support), or hit them up via Twitter/Facebook or their TWC Help email

well after a lot of crap i have found the server the routing is getting stuck on...i have contacted the server master and explained the issue...i hope to hear back from them at some point today and i will let people know what i hear from them

I as well havent been able to get on to my wifes and mine data server Midsgar, we have been trying for 2 days and still nothing ive herd time warners data path is were the problem is but not sure cant get a quick fix here im guessing

its not a issue with time warner i spent over an hour on the phone with tier 3 support we are getting stuck on a canada server...thats where the issue is..i am still waiting to hear from the server master

Depends on just who manages that hop though. If it is a problem occurring prior to Ormuco (even at the exchange point into Ormuco) than it could be a problem with the top tier ISP's like TATA, LEvel3, Cogent, TiNet/SPA, or Verizon Business (ALTER.NET). If so, then TWC is in part responsible for the issue, and there would in fact be something TWC can do about it--as they are the ones who set up the agreement to use that specific third party ISP for transit to Ormuco. If they can't get that third party to remedy it somehow, they can change you to use one of their other routing partners.

Put in the proper perspective, then yes... TWC may have some ownership in the problem.

There is a fairly simple test you can run yourself to try to demonstrate it, and in fact was how I convinced one on-site technician they needed to escalate the problem for me. Test different VPN endpoints. Many out there offer trial or permanent free use that can provide enough usage to run some short tests. Some cap so many hours a day/week, or so much data per month on a renewing basis (like tunnelbear has a free plan that gives 500MB/month, while ones like Cyberghost or HotspotShield limit you to a few hours a day and/or so many hours a week).

If you can get the game to run more stable with a VPN, then it is clearly an issue with the path you are getting assigned to get to Ormuco. That is something determined by the policies of your ISP and/or who you are using for transit to get across the internet to a remote network (in this case, Ormuco). Your ISP sets the parameters for who provides that transit as well as how you get to their exchange point--a VPN allows you to bypass or at least dramatically alter those decisions.

So if using a VPN fixes things then there is a problem with the route your ISP has assigned to you and they need to either arrange to fix that route or switch you to an alternate path to avoid the troubled segments. Either solution is within their power.
