Hey
Does anyone else here think having a separate box for fishing tackle would be amazing? I use up so much space in my inventories storing the various tackle and lures...
I'm hoping I'm not alone on this :D

Yes please
People have been asking for ages.... they dont seem to want to bother. Vanity > functionality.
This topic has been around for a long time, and gets shot down by SE all the time. Probably the only reason I haven't even leveled fisher to 50, I'm not dedicating that much space for a single class. Tackle box takes nothing away, even if it had a limited storage space inside, just so you can't bring along everyform of tackle/lure there is.
Been asking for this since Beta, along with a crafting box. And nothing.
As a lev 50 fisher we have wanted this for along time.SE keeps giving excuses why they cant do it but i call BS.I see no reason why they cant come up with sumthing similar to the way they do mounts and minions and TT cards.I know those are 1 time use things but still sumthing similar could be worked out.Having to fill my Inventory full of baits is total BS
The Tackle NPCs in the Housing districts really help, but its still a pain.
flogging a dead horse im afraid... we would all like it but don't seem to ever be getting it...
This is one issue on which SE has pretty clearly said "No", again and again. The reason they usually give is that another page of inventory information would put additional strain on the servers every time a player logs on or changes zones. In my opinion, though, if we're already so close to critical strain so early in the game's life (FFXIV doesn't even have a single expansion under its belt!), I see grave problems arising in the not-too-distant future. If you consider main-hand weapons/tools alone, once the three Heavensward jobs are added that will be potentially 23 out of 25 slots used up if a player wants to be able to change to any class on the fly. Presumably there will be many new jobs added over the lifetime of the game, and we're already nearing the limit of what is possible without adding at the very least a second page for main-hand tools.
SE's going to need to put some serious thought into what to do about limited Armoury space - and as they do, I hope that they also take the time to reevaluate the possibility of a Tackle Box...
Couldn't they possibly just move fishing lures/baits to the Key Item inventory page if that's the problem? Sure it would be a bit cluttered, but this is totally unfair. Fishers already fish pretty much for the LOVE of fishing since SE seems intent on punishing our class for the problem bot fishers caused in 11, and now, because we love to fish, we're forced to lower our enjoyment of the rest of the game because our freaking inventories are overcrowded. Crafters can put their stuff in their retainers, they can craft anywhere, including right beside a retainer. Fishers don't have that luxury, we have to be on our toes and traveling the whole game world in chase of the perfect time/weather, we don't have the time to go back and grab different lures each and every time a fish window opens up.
Well, this doesn't really address the problem. Remember, the Key Item inventory page only has twenty-five slots, just like any other inventory page. There are over forty different kinds of bait, PLUS, you still need room beyond that for, you know, REAL Key Items. In this game. In order for it to work, they'd need to expand the Key item inventory to at least two pages, which runs right back into the original problem of SE not wanting to add additional inventory due to server load when changing zones or logging in. If they're going to expand inventory anyway, why not just add a tackle box page, rather than an extra Key Items page?
I'd like to see a page much like the Shards/Crystals/Clusters page, except for Bait. A page for catalysts like Dark Matter and Carbonized Matter would be great, too, but I don't wanna press my luck. :P
I think every single fisher wants this including myself, people have asked for it since the beginning and continue to ask for it but SE keeps refusing. Even WoW had the ability to carry additional bags which was a loot item in your own bag and if clicked on it it opened up it's own inventory. I find it hard to believe SE cannot do something simple like that, add an off hand tackle box equipment which opens up new inventory space or just add a new icon to the inventory next to key items called tackle or something which opens up a new inventory space. This is something that people won't stop asking for now or in the future until SE actually does it.
It's important that we have a tab for soul stones though, in the armory.... Super important. Tired of their "server stress" excuses on quality of life issues while they keep adding more gear that everyone just turns in for GC seals most of the time.
Tackle Box (Equipment for offhand lvl 1 item gained when join fishing guild) > click on opens up a 4 tab inventory space for just bait and tackle. Problem solved.
I really, really do not buy into SE's server load excuse. If WoW can allow for like 50-100 inventory bags (carried in your inventory and each containing space for 4-24 items) all of which open up to more inventory spaces without any problem whatsoever then how can SE not add a single one for the offhand equipment slot...WoW's has had that option for many years without any issue so either this game is amazingly badly coded or the excuse is just one to save them putting any effort into doing something which is probably pretty simple. I bet SE haven't even stress tested the idea using sample code on test server, the excuse is probably a theoretical excuse not a evidence based one which has been put to the test in my opinion.
It ain't gona happen.
Wishing and whining won't make it happen. Neither will speculating about how they might make it happen.
Mind you if wishing and whining could make it happen I would wish and whine along with you.
If you just happen to be a game programer who knows how to make it happen submit your resume to Squenix please.
I wish a mod would lock this thread and any future one on the subject.
