Dreadwyrm Glow...

Can us raiders get a quest to upgrade our weapons to make them glow too? I find it a little lame that our top tier weapons obtained from the raid don't even glow, but the Zeta weapons do... Come on, Square, give me something to be happy about. :/

Lol? He is probably happy about it, but why should that be an absolute value? What the op asked is a valid proposal, and there could be a quest to add a glow to a Dreadwyrm weapon if one swings that (glow) way. It could be just a visual upgrade and no Ilvl increase, you know, just so that those mean raiders can't get everything like they always do. /sarcasm

It's probably not going to happen, but oh well. Would be awesome tho.

But the Dreadwyrm weapons aren't top tier anymore :3

Regardless of content "difficulty" glows as glamour options for both gear and weapons should be added.

Raiders are in no way ,more deserving, nor any less deserving then any other play style, the stats are what's important and should be unique to certain content lv, not the appearance.

Imo everyone should be able to have access to them and SE would do really well to offer this as a vanity service.

I would love if they added simple effects like this , lightning effect, burning ember effect, sparkle, twinkle effects etc in a variety of intensities and colors for every player. (with of course an option to hide others effects for those that hate 'em)

Raider with Zeta btw so not just blowing hot air but I would hate for everything to be uniformed and what not I like the unique aspect of the game ....Like I would like for my robe to glow like the augmented ones but hey it just doesn't work like that. SE keep it up doing a good job of diversity and I'm loving it , besides who knows Alexander gear my have this ''glow'' you guys so desperatley want

Why not grant the ppl who finished the final Bahamut Raid the option to get a fiery glow or something.
That takes nothing away from my Zeta weapon and I would question why the final tier raid weapons don't have a glow from the start in the first place.

srsly Im a raider and I dont get this sense of entitlement where do you guys get off getting this sense of being conformed to just because you're able to down content others arent as stated you already get gear and weapons that some can only hope to get so why complain that gives you variety on top of being able to obtain the zeta.....

I think glows usually indicate a higher quality version, for example; Tidal Wave, Diamond, non weathered Yagrush, and crafted primal weapons. So unless there's some kind of upgrade to a higher tier, which is highly unlikely, there shouldn't be a change to those weapon's appearance. They already look cool anyway, they're very unique and still rare.

that's a reasonable argument

If they add glows there will be a new thread in a few days asking them to take it away again because someone else doesn't like it. You can't please everyone.

That's why there should be a toggle option for all glows imo. Don't like the glow? Toggle it off. I honestly don't know why it's not a thing already.

Pretty much. The glow is tied to the item ID, so it's not separate. That's why relic atma doesn't glow at 100, but the animus does at 100 because the item ID is programmed to glow for animus and not atma. Since this game doesn't have an enchantment mechanic there's not a way to apply a glow effect separate from the glow attached to the weapon ID already. It would have to be a different weapon with a different item ID that I highly doubt they'd add just for a glamour's sake.

@ ZhycranaDranix: And you know that just starting the relic quest line all over again, because I decided to play NIN is so incredibly fun right? By the time I finish, Heavensward would be out... What a great idea, friend! It's not like what I'm saying is putting anyone else down here. I just thought it would be a cool idea to do the same thing that you all got with your relic weapons. I saw them last night and was all like, damn man! I wish they put the same amount of dedication and effort to make our raid weapons as cool as your relic weapons... I'm so jealous, but why do you get all defensive and rude, telling me to just go get a Zeta and glamour it, like it is such an easy thing to do?? Also, great, everyone can just go and get a Zeta weapon, because it is easy and not time consuming. They are both the same ilvl and have the same stats for the most part. All I had asked for was a glow. Not an ilvl upgrade or stat increase... JUST. A. GLOW!!! If Square Enix shoots it down, then it is what it is, but your condescending and obnoxious responses aren't welcome here. I suggest you re-evaluate that bad attitude of yours before mentioning anything again.

OOopppss, sorry you could've done the relic quest on the side. Live with it. Raid weapons have NEVER had glowly effects....because they can't be upgraded.

Nothing stopped anyone from DOING this EASY quest. Nothing but YOURSELF. And now some peolpe wanna CRY about not having GLOWLY weapons. These weapons are for us CASULS not you Super hardcore raiders (lol). You have bigger fish to fry and coils to beat. Remeber, The Relic Quest was meant are for us BADS and Casuls. Well, I guess I was right.

Glow or not, I still want a Dreadwyrm weapon, eventually. I became disillusioned with the entire Relic thing nice and early and that's WHY I started raiding. I don't even care if it's the best in slot or not, and I was never much a fan of the glow on any of the weapons as is. Aquiring a Dreadwyem (hell, just clearing Final Coil) would hold so much more meaning for me personally. Personally.

make Bahamut Prime give an item to your inventory if you're wielding a Dreadwyrm weapon when you kill him that, when used on it, applies a blue/purple+gold particle to it.
No ilvl or stat change. Just glow.

Would be neat.

I understand the frustration when people asking Dreadwyrm for glow effects.

Animus/Novus weapons Released

Forum response = Don't bother with relic quest just farm T9 to get BiS weapon or get a UAT weapon. Not worth the grind

Zodiac Weapon Released

So in conclusion all the backlash is because of the paraphrased summary of what the forums have been saying for months. Now that Zeta is out and is equivalent to Dreadwyrm people are wanting the Dreadwyrm glow.

Which in all honesty I agree with the other people saying if you want it to glow than glamour it with something that already does glow.

I don't know how many times I've heard the same BS comments about relics being inferior/not worth it/waste of time/for casuals only. Now, that these Zetas are out, and the best weapons in the game, now those same people that never bothered to do any of it, want something that the relic people have that is special.

I have no sympathy at all for anyone that chose to ignore the relic and are now mad/jealous/envious of what the relic currently is.

Lulz as if clearing T13 is time consuming ? I've embarked on both Journys so OP you go whine somewhere else and if I sound condescending I'm sorry. Trails left by raiders have me feeling this way. You guys bash anything that gets added to anything but raids .iLVL and now glow.

"I saw the glow...and I'm like awe man" ......you know how many players that haven't even cleared ScOB look at dreadwyrm weapons and are already like awe man , but they have their Zeta ....quite a few....so you chose and now yes you can go back and take forever like we did and farm your glowing weapon and I agree with the user that said you could have did them both coincidly , you know like everyone else.

As someone who has a zeta and a raider in t13(learning) damn....look at the hate from all the casu- oh sorry I mean non-raiders here. And people call us raiders elitists and mean D: I've been looking at the forums and non of us "mean raiders" even complain about zeta and made a thread about it someone might have posted about it but hey I don't look at every thread :p
Oh and achieving a zeta is not even an achievement imo...it only takes a month to make one casually.
In all honesty I'm finding more and more non raiders being rude and a general ass compared to raiders. I once tried offering help to a mnk in WoD by saying you don't have to go completely flank or behind, just strut between the end and the beginning of the circle and all I got was "shut up I know I how to play, just coz u have a dreadwyrm doesn't mean yur better than me" I'm like...ok so I'm sure him and his full augmented IW along with 600+ accuracy is hitting more than me.

IMO all the glow effects on weapons/armor are ugly as hell. please allow us to toggle this eye-sore off for self and others on our screen.

You have no clue what you're talking about if you think taking a relic from Atma to Zeta is no achievement.

In addition, if you're referring in any way shape or form to me in your statement of "non-raiders being the rude ones," you should check your facts. I do raid. Raiders have access to weapons and gear MOST Players don't. We no cry. The relics are for EVERYONE. If you would like a full blowN glowly relic, you can put the 6-8 months of work in and get one. I did. Sorry, If anyone is feeling left out, but OTHER players got to stand by and watch some players show off their stuff FOR MONTHS and have it rubbed in their faces by "SOME" So-called Hard core Raiders.

When I was doing my mnk relic, I was watching anime and eating while doing some stuff for work. I even taught my sister basic controls and told her to "kill stuff with a purple thing above their head along the blue area"(fates) while I sleep. I ran with friends in dungeons while screwing around. I did the light grinds half asleep, I asked people to watch fates for my books while I somtimes watch for them. How can you possibly consider that an achievement? It's just pure grind...if you look at it as a time sink achievement then I guess.

This is the problem, is what NorthernLad is saying. Which I tried to emphasize in my earlier post. I am not bad mouthing anyone and neither is NorthernLad. But for the past 3 months no one has brought up "Dreadwyrm Glow" until Zeta was released. Now Zeta is equal or better than dreadwyrm it almost feels like the dreadwyrm only holders are feeling left out especially since over the past 6-9 months they have been saying "Don't do relic get T9/T13".

Agree with the above two, the amount of times I've been called causal and "bad" because I can't clear t9 (it's not about skill funny enough, I just can't find anyone who WANTS to set aside their time to help me clear (clear not carry I've never been carried through anything).

So rather than sit around doing nothing, I've decided to put my time into relic, in the hopes of finally getting an FC willing to help me clear the damn thing so I can start on FcoB.

Besides didn't you guys get a unique glow for t9 weapons ? Doesn't ironworks glow ?

Let me add a different view on this:

I love Coil. Everyone knows this. Everyone knows the whole reason I began raiding was because the relic just didn't hold me. It wasn't even about the gear or having the absolute best really. I personally just needed something else to drive me. But the relic IS the best. I knew it would be; everyone knew it would be. So more than just being sour over a glow, what REALLY stings is this: You can have the absolute best weapon in game and never so much as set foot in Turn 1. It's a long, slow, easy climb up the mountain. . . So then, why ever raid? Why challenge yourself to do anything difficult or get better or learn to play well in a team at a high level when you can just take the long, easy road and come out on top, at least as far as weapons are concerned?

Personally, I don't want the Dreadwyrm to glow. But more than just wanting one, how about something that at least makes it all feel worthwhile? Push myself to be the best I can be, but settle for second best gear? Cool, I'll be sure to skip Alexander and just take the long, easy road in Heavensward. Clearly, all else isn't necessary.

I'm sorry we don't all have people to slave for us while we you know live life......and have to you know go to work etc etc...I speak for the common casuals that obtaining a End game i135 relic is an achievement ..Not just the Zeta phase .....but sticking through all the BS , all the ''its not BiS'' , gil spending , farming hrs etc etc it is an Achievement knock off some of those slave hours you induced on others while we grinded and you might feel a sense of achievement too
