Thanks for the Gold Saucer, devs!

Most things never live up to the hype, but for me, Gold Saucer has. Triple Triad is a lot of fun, collecting cards can be fun, Chocobo Racing is fun (wish there wasn't so much lag), and the mini games are a nice way to waste time while DF pops. Can't wait to see what new games and cards get added in the future :cool:

I am hoping they look at Hearthstone - took what is great, and implement some in Triple Triad. There should be options for those who may not want to "grind freaking dungeons - end game raids - extreme primals" to get things done... They really need to put alternate ways - for crafter to get some points after submitting certain items (that are not so easy to craft) - and be able to get their own version of rare weapons that are just as good as the "dungeons crapola" - but take just as long since you have to craft items that are not so easy to make and accumulate points over time. This way you can have weapons + gears from dungeons, crafting quests, "waste of time little activities like gold saucer", PvP, and perhaps gathering + fishing.

But yeah, to your points, for a first launch, Gold Saucer is nicely done. Good amount of "content", and for once, it is not about PEW PEW BIG EPEEN YIHAAAAA ATTACK KILL KILL KILL.

I don't think it's any coincidence that this quest unlocks just before the first dungeons. Great way for dps in their first queues.

Its really great, everything so do fun to do.

Now please let us Dye our racing Chocobos and I'll be content enough to drift to sleep.
(PS. I only slept 3 hours since GS's release... Hype has given me max stamina)

I am quite content with this update. Most everything here would be an additional Payed DLC in most other companies. I'm sure triple triad and chocobo racing alone would be stand alones for other companies.

This is worth my Sub, SE. Hats off to ya.

I like it. I find myself queueing for a dungeons/instances for a chance to get a card. And while there seems to be dungeon/trial-only cards, the vast majority of cards can be obtained from npc's

Can't you? I saw a few greens and dark blue Chocobo in the races

The Saucer is great square. It's a really good base for expansion and I can't wait to see where you take it. I just hope some QoL improvements are considered quickly.

The drop rate is extremely high. It barely registers as a grind.

Agreed, I really love both chocobo racing and triple triad. Not a fan of the mini games but great implementation overall guys, keep up the good work. Can't wait for heavensward, the hype is real!

Am I the unique weirdo that didn't even unlock that location yet?... Busy with relics, crafting, gathering, PvP.... (Work + studying IRL after all)...

I guess it was made for people that was either too bored or had nothing to do while waiting for duty finder, but, not my case, whenever I wait for duty finder there's always something to do, either do farm light in a fate, craft new stuff, own market board, go to nodes...

I don't often praise the Devs for the updates but this one is really fun to me.

I've loved the Golden Saucer. It's one of the best things to be placed in the game in my opinion. Triple Triad is really fun, albeit VERY CHALLENGING :P , and Chocobo Racing proved to be also very fun for me (this is the feature I wasn't sure if I'd care about or not). I've already spent WAY too much time sitting around playing TT and not near enough leveling my alt or working on my relic. But hey, fun is fun, and you've made a wonderful addition to the game SE. Thank You! Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go lose to Rowena for the 100th time :)

The GS has its issues and its problems, as does most anything but even so it is IMO an amazing addition to the game and TT and Choco Racing have way more depth to them than I expected.

I have been having a blast with it so far, even though I get frustrated some times (just give me the damn card already!), and I eagerly await what new additions will come.

For me it is the best update so far.

Really wasn't concerned about TT, well started playing it yesterday needless to say i had 4 hours sleep for work XD
Amazing addition to this game and i look forward to further things you no doubt plan to add!

This is the first time after a patch where I've thought "Wow, they really nailed this one!". By far the best patch to date! Congrats devs on a job well done!

Gold Saucer did live up to the Hype, Chocobo racing is amazing, games are fun, but Triple Triad? That's soo 1998. Who loads up an MMO to play a card game?(rhetorical, plz don't respond). Last time I played that, Backstreet Boys were still in the top 40. Should've brought back Blitz Ball, at least it's a bit more contemporary.

blitzball was a yawnfest... so easily to win at that in ff10 n not close eithier 97% of my matches ended 12+ - nil without much effort at all

I love it too! Been spending waaay too much time on Triple Triad and Chocobo Racing, going 'Getting late, work tomorrow... Just one more!' over and over again lol. Simply because it's fun. :)

Just want to echo the sentiments in this thread (except for those of the crazy relic user :D jk jk)

I have been waiting for Golden Saucer (much like most of you I'm sure) since I first heard it was going to eventually be a thing.....a bit over a year ago.

This patch has fed me all of the hype I had in large doses and thrown in some extra 'amazing' right on top.


And I am so damn addicted to TT that I haven't even started Chocobo racing yet ;-; I keep telling myself to do it, then like Leowilde above me, I just keep saying "One more game..."


That of course turns into 300 consecutive games and me wondering where the hell the time went haha.

Definitely one of the best patches... really enjoying it at the moment and so are other people. The economy might have taken a hit though, everything's dropped in price because no one bothers about crafting/buying stuff atm. Map prices have dropped by half... clusters still going strong.

Only if ppl are buying up the diminishing stock.

After a few weeks the craze will die down and people will begin purchasing things off the MB again.

Even though I beg to differ about the economy taking a hit. I know a lot of people that were taking advantage of Bronze Triad packs being 520GP, and being able to consistently keep buying 500GP, winning a match or two, buying a card pack and repeating. Multiple times to try and get the rare Behemoth from the pack as opposed to farming it.

This is actually better for the economy imo because gil inflation was already so bad, this is actually removing gil from players hands, and just maybe add a bit larger sense of value to the things we can purchase from other players.
