Housing Access Question

I am rather baffled by a little access thing I noticed when it comes to getting to housing areas.

I did all 3 quests for the housing areas that supposedly unlock teleport access to them or something. You got NPCs in each city that are supposed to be able to get you to the housing wards. And NPCs in the housing wards that can get you back to the city.

I've tried to teleport to housing areas, but nothing shows on any aetheryte, aethernet shard, or my teleport list. Just the teleport to my FCs house.

I went to the NPCs in each city to try and get to the housing districts from there. However, all I ever get is a 'Sorry for the Inconvenience, but I can't help you' type response. It's the same when I try to talk to the NPCs to go from housing to city. They tell me they can't help me.

The only way I can get in to any residential area is by actually running to the entrance of said resident area located in the world (West Than, Lower La, Cent. Shroud). To leave, either run out or teleport out via teleport list. I can't go from city to residential or residential to city. I can't teleport to any residential area either. Is this intended or is it broken?

Once you complete a housing zones mini-quest you can Teleport to it using the Main Cities giant Aetheryte.

IE. New Gridania's giant aetheryte will give you an option to teleport to "Residential District Aethernet" which sends you to The Lavender Beds.

Some Wards (namely, Mist and Lavender Beds) have skippers in Gridania and Limsa Lominsa that will drive you there, but as Galactimus said using the main aetheryte in each respective city is as fast as you can go.

That's the thing though. None of the Main City giant Aetherytes give me that option even though I completed all three quests. I just get the normal aetheryte options (teleport to aethernet shards or make it fav/home spot)

The ferry skipper in Limsa tells me he can't get me to Mist. Likewise with the one in Gridania. The housing guy in Ul'Dah doesn't let me into the housing districts either. The NPCs in the residential districts don't let me to right to the city either.

If you've completed the quest, these are the options you should have;

Sometimes, when trying to get to a hunt and using the shortcut through the housing districts, in my haste i've clicked on "Aethernet" instead of clicking down to "Residential District Aethernet." Maybe that's what you're doing?

That's weird... have you made sure all 3 quests are completed (this occurs when you report back to the starting NPCs after visiting the ward and talking with a guard inside)? Check your journal, perhaps... If it still gives you no access, best I can think of is a bug. Maybe call a GM.

Will probably do that. The ferry skippers should be letting me go from the city to the residential areas, and they are not. The Residential Skippers/guards at that area should be letting me go from the residential areas to the cities, and they are not. I should be able to tele to the resident areas, and I cannot. These three things are wrong.

Just wondering - you have atuned to every single aetheryte int he city thus allowing you access to the gate teleports too right? eg. Being able to port to White Wolf gate in Grid

Yup. All aethernet shards unlocked. I went back and checked the npc's that handled the residential side quests. None have any quests available. I rechecked the aetherytes, none show residential teleport access. NPCs don't do anything either still

I think the first time when you are on the quest, you actually can't use any of the means to get to housing district from the cities? If I remember correctly, you have to access if from the field map, Gridania: Central Shroud near exit to South Shroud, Uldah: West Thanalan, near Sultana Gate exit, and Limsa:... uh where is it again for Limsa? Lower Lanoscea? I never get the region right in Limsa.

It's Central Shroud, Lower La Noscea, and Western Thanalan. I know because I frequently go in and out of the housing areas for rp reasons.
