Won't Somebody Please Think of the Children?!

It has come to my attention that the Eorzea has a huge lack of children. And it's kinda weird...

The entire realm over we only see small groups of child NPCs.
The small group of kids playing behind the Carpenter's Guild in Gridania.
As well as the few children refuges from Doma living at camp Revenant's Toll...

BUT! The biggest mystery?! Out of the five races...There are only Hyur and Elezen children..
I have never seen a Lalafell, Roegadyn, or Miqo'te child NPC anywhere in Eorzea.
Have I just missed them? Or do the rest of us just walk out of the void as adults?!

They've already answered all this in the lore panel during the Last Vegas fan festival.

So yeah, somebody did think of the children. You just didn't check the lore questions before making this thread.

They’ve archived the video footage on Twitch which you can still see if you pay $20 to access their premium stream. Aside from that (and assuming you don't want to spend money), you'll have to Google Heavensward info and find it that way. I can't remember what I typed into the search box to find the answer, but it's out there :)

There are children everywhere. You can see them shouting in Mor Dhona.

Just go into DF or PF.

I haven't rewatched this since the festival so I don't know at what point they bring up children in the first place. But if you don't feel like watching it all, the answer is here:


Other races children might appear in the incoming expansion.

For now, they're all hidden behind those "No Entry" doors you can find everywhere in Eorzea.

IIRC they did the same thing in FFXI too where the only children shown were hume and elf.

I always just assumed they were too uncreative to design a child mithra/taru/etc.

Remembering incorrectly, Sekhmet. All five races in FFXI have children littered all over the place (of course I mean in cities and some towns).

im sure there's lalafell children somewhere, but they are probably just a pixel big, so easy to miss.

maybe ladybugs ate all the lalafell children, thinking they were lice?
maybe ladybugs are lalafell children, and every new adventurer should start out their lv1 class quests, by killing some, to keep the pop down.
i hope my dislike for lalafells, are transparent enough.

You seem to forget that we adventurer lalas are somehow almost just as physically powerful as you roes with our itty bitty weapons of justice. :D So much power in such cute little bodies...

With all the monsters infesting the realm it's no wonder people keep their kids out of sight. *shrugs*

There's plenty of children hanging around in Gridania; heck they're practically ran by immortal children (Padjal)

It makes sense why there aren't many children in Thanalan since alot of them were probably sold by their parents.

It's all very well to say that this was covered at the lore panel at a fan event, except that the number of fans able to attend the event is a tiny fraction of a small percent of the total playerbase, and since this is lore that affects all players, it might have been more helpful for you to answer the question instead of rudely pulling the search card on the OP.

As for the question, I would like to know the answer as well, and if the answer was given at the lore panel, perhaps someone who was at the event or has seen the video of the event would be kind enough to repost the gist of it here. Thank you so much for your help.
