Can we please have other ways to get the pony mounts?

Pretty much the only thing I do besides final coil, is join PF or DF for extreme primal runs. For all my work I only have a nightmare and the garuda pony.

I very much would like to collect them all but winning the roll vs 7 other people on about a 10% drop rate item means you have to be very lucky to get them all.

Some ideas.
1. Buy them on Mogstation.
2. Winnable at Goldensaucer
3. Buy them with Rowena's tokens from the old primal quest, I would say 9 is a good amount get one every 3 weeks.

Or make it similiar as diamond dust system like you need collect 50 diamond dust and then you can buy the pony or something like that. Then it would be 50 runs / pony and not depends so much abaut luck but still need effort into it.

or keep it exactly as it, put in the effort, and feel rewarded when you actually get one.

nah why bother, put it in the cash shop, put everything in the cash shop, then we don't have to bother playing and it will eliminate all the arguments like hunts being early pulled, casual/elitist arguments, and everything else, and we will all be happy

Please no more tokens, this game got too many tokens that nothing except coil loot feels rewarding. The loot is losing its purpose when you don't feel happy about it..
I'm also a bit upset that they upped the drop rate, the mounts were supposed to feel rare and if you got one you'd feel extremly happy, now it's like "oh another mount, oh i rolled 5 again, oh well it will drop again soon"

There need to be rare loot because if you're done with relic and beaten all primals, there's not much else to do but do dungeons for poetics gear which only people that do coil need anyway.

1. No. No need to explain it.
2. Yes. Alternatives are good, so you don't have to play 24/7 the same thing. That doesn't mean that it would be easier, it would simply be another way to get them.
3. Yes. We would have another use for those tokens that we no longer use anymore. Useful for those with really bad luck, too.

They should just drop every time 100%, like the Ultros and Enkidu minions. You still need to collect many ponies, and still need to win a roll between 8 people on all of them. That's still probably 50-150 extreme primal battles.

I think the intention of the ponies is to get people re-do old content so the newcomers don't struggle to find a party. However

1) Pony farm parties usually don't take newbies
2) If people win said pony, they're likely to leave, this is the reason I stopped farming them altogether.
I've seen over 10 Garuda ponies come and go and I was just fed up with people getting their mount and going "k thx bai"/"gtg baby on fire".

So yes I do feel an alternative way, may it be kill an achievement to kill a said primal 100 times or whatever, is very much in place. I'd gladly have a bit less RNG and douchebaggery and a bit more to actually look forward to.

While I don't mind the cash shop selling old seasonal items or the occasional cash shop-only mount like sleipnir, I would have to say I disagree with making something like the primal horses more easily attainable. Unlike making gear more attainable for the good of player progression, to do so with these mounts that some people have put an enormous amount of effort into getting would be a kick in the balls. Some things should be left as a badge of accomplishment, as these are, and to do otherwise would cheapen the experience for everyone. There's nothing more toxic to a game than that sense of "oh well why should I even bother playing when some rich kid can just buy everything I'd have to work hard achieve?" Keep cash shop vanity separate from achievement vanity.

They already put Kirin in, which is an achievement mount you get from acquiring the other pony mounts, so doing any of these things kind of defeats the purpose.

When ex primals were new, i tried a few garuda ex runs and finally downed her the next day. Probs only a good 1 or 2 20 min try as ppl quit.
Kinda got carried but hey we beat it! Guess what? I out rolled everyone on the nightmare mount and boy were ppl pissed. I put little effort in terms of running the content and got so much out of it.
Really unfair to ppl who ran ex primals more than a hundred times and have not yet been able to win a nightmare mount to this day.
I'm all for token system cuz no one is going to care that much when u afk in mor with ur shiny kirin mount. Cuz the whole point of pony farming is to get ur kirin mount then afk in mor like every other person when they get something super rare.

Don't really get your post - if you're saying you felt I was unfair of you to get the mount, you could've passed it?

Me and my mates have been speed running the primals for the mounts and are having a blast doing so. We got Ruda down to dying before even seeing P3, we'd just kill spiny immediately and she'd be down before getting off her ultimate anyway. 7 of us have the Xanathos (or whatever) mount and we're now just waiting for the 8th for our last teammate, and then will move on to another primal

The pettiness of exclusivists seems to know no bounds in MMOs.

Someone tell me what is so blasphemous about having less luck-based means of obtaining something that doesn't even affect your character's performance.

We have soo many old unused currency, why not make use of it to counter RNG?
We have the weekly ex primal kills, no one is doing this any more... (rowena tokens)
We have rowena letters, those are mostly just for vanity...

So it wasn't enough to share your feelings about ingame items in another thread only. A thread about CT minions in the cash shop. No, you needed to make a separate thread..

Thank you SE for making people lazy bums. For catering every single frigging patch, even the expansion, to new-to-mmo-players.

Thank you for taking away the whole idea of an MMO: make friends, invest time in your job to get better, run stuff together, farm stuff together and feel rewarded for your effort and of course have fun with the people you play with.

No, people now want everything in the cash shop because they... must... get... item.. People want MNK simplified because it can lose its stack and NIN/DRG don't have this problem. People want to get rid of cleric stance because now they are "forced" to DPS.

See what I'm doing? SE made a mistake by forever take this ridiculous dumbed down approach. Get your act together pls..

No need new tokens if it is gonna be achievement reward like 200 frontline wins ads mount.

You dont need to have everything in the game.

In wow, ive farmed for some mounts to drop for a few years and still dont have it, am I making a fuss like this, no. It doesn't bother me that I havent got some of the rare mounts yet in WOW, and I have over 150 mounts granted.

But you dont need everything just cos you pay a sub, deal with it.

1 : No.
2 : A possible way but it wouldn't be fair to people who got them from primals... So most likely nope.
3 : Great idea, also the token system idea from Sunako would be very fair.

I don't have any of those pony mounts, because I don't give a rats about doing the EX primals. I have better things to do. I also agree with all those that disagree with the original poster. NO!, deal with it. Either do the content to get them or pass it.

I still think they should be buyable with Rowena's Tokens (the ones you get when you defeat all three original primals) and similar currency for newer primals. In short: you defeat extreme X certain times, you have enough currency to buy the pony.

A definite no to making them available in the cash shop. They should be obtained by playing the game.

The ponies are rare drops off of primals, with a flavour color depending on which you get. They were specifically made for that content. Why the hell should SE put it somewhere else other than you don't want to grind for it? You don't need to get them all, rather want them... so why should the game change due to your specific wants?

Rowena token require you to kill 3 of the ex primals and you can only do it once a week, lets say you need 48 of them means you have to farm one whole year just to get ONE pony!

Still easier, Ive farmed for a single mount before in WOW for years and still dont have it, try again. You are asking for a system with a 100% acquisition still here and not to mention we are due an expansion in less then an year with an increased level cap with new skills and higher item levels, ye this will just get easier over time.

I have 0 of them. Would I like them? Sure but at the same time my life will go on either way. They have already upped the drop rate even though it's still terrible but they did that much at least. To make easier ways of getting them would then make all the work others put into farming them seem like a smack in the face.

If someone is quitting an MMO because they couldn't get a rare vanity mount.... I think they have bigger issues with the game.
