I wholeheartedly support this! I would be very disappointed to not see Hildibrand in the expansion. With that flying sword, there is nothing stopping him to join us in our voyage through the skies!

Agreed! Hence the video, not really much of an editor but I wanted to make something fun to show my support. I had automatically thought he would return as a standard, but I was re-watching the fan festival videos (as I had subbed them all) and Yoshi-P basically said that his adventure was basically done and "IF" he was to return it would only be if we wanted it enough.

So I really hope people show support and make the message loud and clear that they want him to return. I know some people don't like the quest as they see it as a bit "goofy" but he is great comic relief and I always find myself re-watching the cutscenes hehe.

I think they already planned a Season 2 for Hildibrand but they just have not decided when it will be released.

Currently there are certain things that hint for Season 2 being...

1) The end says "Hildibrand will continue in....?"

2) the Mysterious Lalafell that appears in the Hildibrand Saga still remains a mystery.

3) Gilgamesh says that this is not the last time we will encounter him.

4) Hildibrand heads into the sky which is the location of the new Sky Continent.

The Dev team is already split into different groups which one focus on casual friendly things like Hildibrand while another group focus on Hardcore things like Savage.

The ending did leave it open, the hints of a new case, the question of him returning at the end, and the card in the coblyn teaser. All indicate that there very likely will be more.

Your attitude towards it is very negative. Thought the overwhelming opposition to petitions against it would have given you the picture where majority of people stand on this. Just look at the likes on the first three replies to that thread.

Somehow just thinking back to the Hildy quests makes me smile.
I would say that some of the characters within the Hildibrand storylines, namely Godbert "The Hammer" and Julyan um, "The Skillet", and more amusing and fascinating than most of the "main" characters.
We really do need more of Hildy's family, and more cases with Hildy and Nashu.

Its just fun. Just simple, silly fun. And of course we have the Gilgamesh fights. The music is nice, with amusing mechanics that still require some attention. And then we have all of the "expository banter."

You just know they have to have another season of this. They can't introduce Hildy's mom in the last episode and NOT have her part of future escapades!

They're bringing him back. They HAVE to, its like the only good story. Honestly I know I'm probably not the majority but the main quests I often find myself skipping while the Hildi quests I pay attention to and watch all the scenes.

The main quests to be are all, "chosen one!" ...."I'm coming!" ...."chosen one! Please you have to collect this pointless object and deliver it for me!" ......."I'm coming!" ...."chosen one!!!" .....-gets hit by tiny net-

Yep, hildibrand is by far some of the best content in this game so they have to make more.

Also one thing i would absolutely love is for the hildibrand to have a family gathering during some kind of major holiday....oh the chaos.

I'd be happier if his quest "optional" quests doesn't lock us out on trial roulettes.

This thread is funny because it's obvious he'll return in the expansion. He's a fan favourite, they can tie-in other FF characters to him while not affecting the in-game world, one of the 4 warriors of light (meaning the potatoe and roegadyn we saw in the begining with Hydeline were WoL too)

I fully support it and I want to see more Hildibrand.

Its hilarious, it fits in Final Fantasy from other parts of the series that make you smile with other clever call outs while providing a fantastic, but funny, side story that isn't all super serious. I really love the content and would definitely want to see more of that with the main stuff in 3.0.

I want to see more Hildibrand, because well, if the entire story was gloom and doom like the main scenario I would just get bored and leave. It is nice to have these stupid little side quests, because well, it gives you a new mood to the game.

I only done up to T5 of Coil and could go do the rest, but I don't see the point of it. Sure, some people really enjoy it! But just like that some people really enjoy the Hildibrand questlines. Just because there is a small group working on a silly questline doesn't mean Yoshi-P is sitting there laughing at the Raider types and types who aren't just a fan of that type of humor going 'WELL, NO MORE ___ FOR YOU.'

I mean, I can understand the frustration, in the main story line I hate the stupid quests they make me do (Go make soup for this group of people do you can do CM) to get to the dungeons. I can empathize with the people who don't want to do the quests to get the trial. But here is the thing, all the trials have some sort of plot leading up to them. Some I find so boring I want to chew my arm off, and others I love. Just like some people love the other storylines and hate the Hildibrand lines.

No one can be 100% happy 100% of the time. We should work on thinking of ideas where EVERYONE gets what they want. Such as making it where his trials dont lock people out of the trial roulette, or perhaps have two types of TR (such as Main Scenario/Side Scenario) so people know what they are getting into when they want to get some (want only the MS stuff awesome -Want to only have slightly more light-hearted Trials, well here we go!)

I wonder how many people would support that?

I can already hear Midgardsormr popping out of nowhere and saying, "Are you seriously working with him... again, Mortal?"

We all know we need more Hildy.

While not my favorite content, the Hildebrand story has been rather enjoyable. My favorite part has to be the Battle on the Big Bridge Trial.

I will admit that I probably would feel mildly disappointed if there was no continuation for Hildebrand in the future. Now back to farming Dragon's Neck & Big Keep for the Ultros and Enkidu minions.

I see your petition picked up a whopping 5 more supporters in the past week or so. Meanwhile, the hundreds of likes on the first few posts in that thread will be more than adequate to let Square Enix know that the vast majority of the playerbase (well, the part of it that uses the forums, anyway) does not agree with you. Thanks again for putting that thread together so that the developers can understand what we really want. ^^

Justin Bieber has 2.7 million likes on his Baby video while Rachmaninoff's 3rd played by Argerich does not even have 10k. I guess, judging from the number of likes, this means Baby is a work of genius and Rachmaninoff's 3rd is garbage.

Yes I spend most of my time face palming during the Hildibrand storyline but I understand the need for humor to balance out what is an otherwise very serious game.

Like Ultros in Final Fantasy 6, Hildibrand is the bright spot that reminds us to laugh even though Eorzea is falling down around us.

Well.. to be fair, their thread is a 'don't spend time doing Hilde, spend it doing elite endgame raid stuff' which to be honest doesn't have as much 'fanbase' as say casual Hildy does.

Still I'm firmly on team 'let him go already'. I really HATE having to do the hildebrand quests just to keep my daily roulettes open. They are dumb and beyond silly and I do not care for them...like I just don't get the hildy love. (seriously I hated them in 1.0....why for the love of the 12 did they bring him back). That's not to say I think they should spend more time on endgame etc...I'd actually prefer we left Hildebrand behind and got NEW 'casual Hildebrand-esk' content in its place.

But therein lies the problem with using the 'see your side is losing' comeback. In a 'Save Hildy' thread OF course most people will want it to continue. And it's fine that you do....but that doesn't mean everyone playing wants it to continue...or cares if it does. But the opinions of team 'let him go' vary greatly on if/what should replace him should he not return. Personally, I don't care if he stays...just STOP making me do it so I can unlock roulettes.

I would like fresh new stories . Not same stuff over and over.
That goes for both Hildi and the current horrible MSQ.

Ill forgive SE for now since they had no choice to rush the hell out of this game, due to 1.0 flop. But come expansion we should not be getting the same handful of storylines every patch.

Let Hildi rip or at least become a much smaller side quest in expansion. Not the second largest story content. Its not for everyone and its not very final fantasy either (its more japanese anime humor).

I do hope they continue with Hildibrand. The story line is a break from the serious story line that is in progress and I'm sure will continue. Also, how can you bring in Mom and just leave her like that!?! She's awesome, (I have the same boots glamoured as well!) Mom is awesome and it seems we know who wears the "pants" in the family. I want to see more of Mom!

I can see the point of having to deal with the instance to open up the roulette but in the end it really isn't a big deal. The fights are fun. I like fun! Need something to balance out all the "business at hand."

I would like to see optional responses in Hildebrand quests - Like to agree or disagree with people during the quest (people who don't like hildi can get some satisfaction by rolling their eyes at/refusing him) ^^

I'll always support Hildibrand. While there are some funny side quests in this game, the Hildibrand series of quests/story never fails to make me laugh multiple times. It also serves as a great counter-balance to the serious nature of the main scenario quests.

This game would be done a huge injustice if there were no more Hildibrand stories in the future.

Honestly I don't think there is anything to worry about. With the fan support (which is obviously extremely high) and with how the "season" of the Hildibrand scenario ended I can't not see Hildy being in Heavensward.

in general I want more quest that take more liberty in our character expressions, I loved how we react in some CS from Hildy quest line, the main scenario we are practically a cardboard that sometimes does an angry expression, and that's all

I agree with Ashkendor. The fallacy is not with the amount of likes contradicting what people really feel. You have to look at the medium being used to collect that data.

Truth is, there are people that like Justin Bieber, and those people are more likely to use Youtube -- younger people. Those that listen to Rachmaninoff would barely even consider visiting Youtube. If classical music was as hugely popular today as other genres that are currently relevant are, it might be a different story -- because younger audiences would still be listening to it. Youth have always dominated top lists for music.

The majority of likes on youtube music videos are from young people -- the target audience for pop artists like Justin Bieber.

The majority (entirety?) of likes on these forum posts are from FFXIV players -- the target audience for hildibrand.

Hating on Justin Bieber is the in thing to do, but clearly there are people who actually like him, and a considerable amount. It's become a stereotype, of sorts, to criticize young pop artists. But Hildibrand doesn't have that same stigma about him. All feedback points to the hate on him clearly being a minority response.

1 of the best most exciting thing in any patch is seeing what he gets involved in please keep him going way past Heavensward

Its also better than hoping for an anime spin off.. At least it breaks the seriousness (if its there) of the main plot. He almost comes off as a Peter Sellers version of Phoenix Wright. Also I really want to go to a floating island and find Hildabrand face planted into the side of a cliff wall of said floating island.
