Is that handwritten Eorzean in the artwork? Awesome.
A geomancer goblin?! o_o
A spark of hope for a future geomancer class, I wonder...
Please give me something useful to do with 170+ deaspected crystals other than buy a reskined Onion helm!
The Japanese version of this article doesn't use the traditional Japanese name for the geomancer job (風水士), but instead both 老化学者 and 老科学者 (both would be pronounced the same so one might be a text conversion error), neither of which really make any sense to me. Old scientist? Genealogist maybe?
If i remember right, in the Famitsu its beeing said that the Class Arcanists maybe will have a Job like Geomancer. Not sure tho and to lazy to check at the moment. xD
But after all i like the comeback of the Goblins. Gobby-Bag ftw lol.
Amazing artwork as always.
Sultan hates freaking goblins

That Miqo is not wearing pants.
I really like the fact that SE allows their artists to sign their artwork. If only same was true at a certain place where I work... =(
Anyway I love goblins and I hope they have as emotionally charged storyline as the Jeuno quest series with cutscenes was. It's one of my favorite XI memories. Gobbiebag quest were awesome too.
I shall name him.... Mutamix Bubblypots! xD That name is making me laugh baahahahaha
Or maybe the Immortal Flames will kill all goblins and steal Mutamix's materia, for sale only to immortal flames, and no one will join the other companies :)
This opens up a lot of options in the future. Just one example that was made by a fellow LS member details a use for beastcoins. I bet those people who called us crazy for collecting them would be kicking themselves now if it turns out you have to use beastcoins to buy materia, catalysts, etc and gil is useless.
Oh yes, we definitely need gil sinks. But you never know, they did mention an intention to do something with beastcoins in the future. This just seems like a good opportunity to me. It could very well end up though that Materia is only acquired through AP (gear) and catalysts only through DoL. We'll have to wait and see!
I like Ul'dah for legitimate reasons, but I can understand where you're coming from. It has certainly been overkill for a while now and some change is in order. Maybe Airships will help bridge the gap between the city-states and give some much needed love to the other areas?
I don't think other people having huge sums of gil has much of an effect on new players at all... In most cases, people who have this much gil got it by being frugal and productive; they don't unnecessarily spend gil and they constantly look for and employ the best methods of acquiring gil. Spending more than you make is a sure way to lose gil.
That said, these people keep a close eye on their income, and what they forsee themselves spending gil on. Just recently gil from leves has been reduced dramatically, and this will lead to prices falling, and incomes falling (Its all relative ofcourse, purchasing power would, in this case, be closer to staying the same). Obviously anyone with a large amount of gil just got proportionately richer in buying power.
The point is income levels are the same for everyone, so new players and old players will still have similar incomes now, and their day to day spending will not drastically change in proportion to one another. The only problem is, any really amazing new item that comes out, you can bet your life the richest Eorzeans are going to pay rediculous amounts of gil to get their hands on them ( That is ofcourse if they put that much value in them ). But not randoms spending on gear for regular items, and items they don't naturally compete over either.
This is how I made my coin. Gotta assess your values, utilize assets you have that you don't necessarily need, and be patient with your purchases. Crystals were (and still are) a great gil income, and since the bulk of crafting I do is from leves, I can afford to sell off these items and make a quick few hundred thousand gil per stack.
All i'm saying for now is Yay Goblins :)
