The entire World of Darkness raid was utterly amazing, to be honest.
Cerberus represent \('-')/
you are welcome
Yeah, that was the best fight out of all of them.
We have "abandonment" issues
i was worried when got to that fight since alot of ppl were saying its hard.. we didnt wipe at all but when u think about the group wiping 5 times on the first boss ._.
Boss difficulty order ''sorry the names are eluding me right now''
First boss > Last > Third > Second
The Three Headed Dragon or what ever was literally the easiest fight just DPS
Cerberus ....woooo I loved it ...the whole entering the stomach thing and what not was pretty cool and chaining him up 10/10 boss fight SE
I'd love that in coil/ split the raid 4/4 and have them defeat the boss in two ways ....pretty good mechanic I loved it
Cloud of Darkness I felt was a rehash of ST's final boss mechanic wise with about 2 new mechanics added but man that fight was fun .......figuring it out on the fly was wasy
Those shouts though > lmao
KILL THE CLOUDS COMING, STAND UNDER METEORS, I THINK WE'RE SUPPOSED TO GET TRAPPED IN AND KILL THE ADDS, RAISE PLEASE (X,Y)
First Boss , The floating eye or what ever I'm a healer so I just run around I literally don't know whats going on there haha but I've down'd it 3 times (wipe fest much)
Our group kept getting Doomed on the Eye boss, im still not overly sure what to do on it.
During the cast of Mortal Stare, turn away from the boss until its animation finishes and you see "Mortal Stare: MISS". If you don't and you do get Doomed, just run to whichever platform is lit.
It's an identical mechanism to Petrifaction in Turn 7 - in fact, a lot of the mechanics in WoD have analogous mechanics to Second Coil, just generally far less deadly.
Ah thanks.
Guess in a way, it's like a training exercise for those of us who haven't taken on some of the turns.
Yeah, good fights indeed.
Also the trash between bosses is kinda entertaining too. Better than ST.
All the fights in World of Darkness was incredibly fun :D
Hats off to the raid devteam for this treat.
Cerberus was such a great fight. Very cool mechanics in all of them :D
Cerberus is by far the worst fight to figure out. My alliance (going totally blind) one-shoted the first boss easily (even though in a very sluggish way), wiped once on the dragon due to the slimes (hate them), wiped once on atomos >_> and once on CoD because "hey what are there pads there ?" => wipe
But Cerberus ? Man, we wiped like 5 times trying to figure out how to use the adds to debuff the boss (wolfsbane to kill a cerberus, logic ?) until one of us got the mecanic right by mistake (running around like headless chicken, got both zones) and then we started to create the strat. But it is definitively the hardest of all to figure out. The others are easy enough, except maybe CoD's dps check in a team with many melees
Thinking back on it, 1st fight may have been harder if I wasn't the type of person checking compulsively my buff/debuff bar when on a new fight. "Hey what a nice zone" "Hey I got a debuff" "Ho nice that means that..." etc etc..
For first boss, you just switch debuffs. Black is behind, white is in front. Turn around when he casts the thing that gives you doomed and you'll avoid it. Realllly simple once you figure those two things out.
For the roulette, it stops spinning once the last final hourglass is killed. If you don't kill them all in time, he binds you so you can't run out.
I really like raid on WoD which have some interesting mechanic than CT/ST which totally... plain imo.
love the cerberus fight. The alternating floor with the eye made me severely motion sick though :(
I like that fight too along with the entire WoD fight. On my first blind run, I totally have no idea what I actually have to do so I just DerPS all the way. What I like in the fight are the abandonment debuff and watching people dragging chains all the way to lock up cerby again.
PS : I still have no idea what to do in that fight. Just cleared once atm :p
I agree, Cerberus is my favorite fight so far :)
Loved that fight the most out of all WoD. I did like the little change in music when you go in the stomach. It becomes muffled lol.
1) Mortal State cast, look away. If you do get doomed, walk into one of the glowing small circles.
2) When the Aoe circles happens like 100 Flare, stay in them with a group. 1 person is bound in them and you need to share damage.
3) When he does the full ground aoe in 2 colors(white and red), swap them each time he cast it. So for example, Red : White : Red : White etc. Getting 3 of 1 kind, is pretty much insta kill.
4) Kill hourglass when they pop up.
5) thats about it.
I like how they've tuned the difficulty just right enough to remain a challenge once people mostly run around in i120+ gear but still manageable with the current average ilvl, as long as people handle mechanics right. I would've been disappointed if WoD turned out to be a tank n spank like ST.
Also;
FFXIV WoD > WoW WoD
A rather sad fact.
Having cleared it twice, I can happily say that WoD is my favorite in the series now... when done right... which my first run (expectedly) was not. Good lord, our struggle bus broke down on the very first boss, leaving me questioning my life decisions.
Happy I stuck with it, though! If not only for the music alone. My god... this whole patch has the best music so far.
Feels like they've come a long way since the original wing of CT (which was still pretty okay); the WoD fights are really cool.
Cerb is a nice fight. though i was hoping for something different. the flowers felt out of place and he should have used a bit more fiery magic and stuff.
entertaining anyway. my first thought was, this will be a King Behemoth pain like fight with 23 ppl you don't know, but ppl adapted faster than i thought.
Cloud of Darkness on the other hand... if ppl don't want to listen or straight out can't understand the language of the raid, there are lots of ways to die to.
My first time in WoD, my Alliance gets volunteered for feeding Cerberus.
And this is all that I can think of

It's awesome fights like Cerberus that make me disappointed that there is no difficulty 24 man raid in this game. Now don't get me wrong I am not trying to be elitist and I fully understand why CT/ST/WOD are what they are, but seriously SE comes up with some cool looking and engaging enemies/battles in these raids and there just over before they begin cause obviously the challenge is just not there. I wouldn't mind spending a few days wiping to an extreme mode Cerberus or extreme mode Cloud. Hopefully we can will see some difficult 24 mans in the expansion. Thumbs up to SE for making a very awesome fight.
Perhaps making the final coil, savage mode would be better for those seeking challenges, because the whole CT/ST/WoD line is for those who can not partake in Final coil and provides a nice, weaker gear way to gear up. If they were to make it harder, id like some sort of extreme only loot.
Maybe Cerberus with a Haste mode like in Coil if you take to long to kill him.
I love all of WoD. :3 I actually enjoy the final boss too. Cerberus is lots of fun though, especially if you are on dog food duty.
I was in Alliance A and we decided that Alliance A would be Cerberus' food. Cerberus was killed while we where inside him and we coulnd't leave him without using Return.
I kinda wish the CT team was the team that worked on coil. I mean... World of Darkness actually had a boss arena that wasn't a circle!
WoD had such interesting mechanics to some fights that it made Syrcus Tower and for some reason Crystal tower, harder than they were back in the day.
>D
So, the thoughts on The World of Darkness.
I have to give it a 10/10.
It is bloody brilliant! The only problem I have with it is that sometimes when being puked up by Cerberus, you can accidentally get two loading screens. That's it. The rest is brilliant!
I love the whole WoD instance and think it's the best of the series. The fights are fun and challenging, the gear looks great and the atmosphere and music are amazing! I'm very impressed.
I laughed my ass off when I realized we came back out of his backside after stomach phase XD
