Confusion about Growth curves for DoL and DoH

I was a little confused by these lines in the Letter from the Producer. The first was in the table, and second in the text below. Does this mean that both growth curves are being re-done? I'm confused because if both are getting the overhaul, then why weren't they both in the table? The text at the end sounds more like a recap. :confused:

ya I thought that as well, but I took it that they were going to do both, as DoL/H seems to fall in the same category for alot of things

By growth curve, I interpret it as the amount of activity required to rank through and how involved it is.

Right now, the trip from about R30-R50 is a terrible, terrible grind. I'm guessing that this is what they are looking at.

Wasn't the table this time a list of things for 1.19 and nothing beyond there?

Its probably increasing the amount of exp (because thats what it will be after 1.19) some crafts give and possibly leves, because 1-20 is easy, and from what I have heard (only craft is 19 GLD) 20, maybe 25 or 30+ take forever, to level.

I think what vision was refering too is what are they changing DoL or DoH as there are 2 contradicting statements, one saying DoL and the other refering to DoH.

You guys need to go back and read that statement in the letter, it's says Disciples of the Land.

30+ is not really that bad. in the 30's i can get 3-4 levels in a day if i took the time to collect enough mats. in the 40's it's still a non issue to get a rank a day on doh already.

I'd like to have more details from devs on the adjustments since the patch is still at least one month and a half ahead, and playtime is too precious to waste grinding things that will be reduced.

dol is very easy to rank atm. i got 150k in 4 hours by doing 6 r40 leves and grinding.

R30 to 40 is actually very fast now, especially if you use your regional leves (10-15k total per leve with aspect). Even 40+ is faster than it used to be prior to 1.18 until you hit ~R48-49, then its about the same. Basically you get ~10% per lvl of node over your level, so you typically get 50-100% more SP per swing. With no SP fatigue (you still damage everything after 250 harvests per day), you can really grind the levels up quickly.

I think they actually mean to nerf SP rate on DoL now. Or maybe speed things up in the 40+ range due to lack of Grade 6 nodes. We'll see I guess, but I've found SP grinding on DoL to be very good/fast now compared to before.

You all are assuming they are going to make it shorter. Perhaps they will make it take longer.

They can't do it longer that disciplines of war and magic, since combat classes can exp when they want without any fatigue in place. It's logical assume they'll reduce caps for DoL/H

Actually, I think you're missing the contradiction in the letter. Only Eruantien seemed to catch on. So no, I'm still confused.

I'm expecting a nerf. When they buffed DoL in 1.18 they made it too good. Even in the upper 40s I can still get 6-8k per leve for what is sometimes a 3-5 minute leve, which is just ridiculous. More when Sweat of Brow kicks in. If I were 35 doing those grade 5 leves for the first time I'd be doubling that. I'm surprised it hasn't been nerfed already, especially for the lower ranks. DoL are probably the fastest classes to take to 40 now.

DoH is fast too. I level faster now by doing nothing but leves than I was able to when I took my GLD and CRP to 50 pre 1.18 when I grinded. But maybe the upper 40s will still be slow due to the low amount of 50 leves.

I agree that it has gotten a lot easier to rank DoL. However, I wish they would even out the progression more than anything. Once you move up to a new camp, SP is great for the first 5 ranks. For the next 5 ranks, it slows down considerably. It should be a more even procession.

I'm not seeing the problem with SP gains from DoL leves. It's a somewhat fair trade off for having to wait a day for Gathering Fatigue to reset, if you maximize your gathering per day for each DoL, while DoH/DoW/DoM can just grind to their heart's content. If anything, DoL are still getting cheated out of SP gains.

Exactly what I meant. I think they may actually nerf it.

I have gotten 10k SP in like 1 minute as a rank 25 botanist with Sweat of the Brow.

to me i would be completely fine if they went back to pre patch sp gains and removed gathering fatigue. it sucks to grind mining until fatigue then only be able to grind those items into your crafting class for only a few hours than have to wait another 20+ hours to do it again.

i'm doing blacksmith now and can go mining and get maybe enough mats for 5-6 stacks of silver. that's only 3-4 hours of grinding blacksmith until i have to wait and go mining again. the gathering fatigue hits way too soon to even be able to gather enough mats for your own personal use.

This is ridiculous you rank up faster from r35-r36 than r34-35. Please fix this.

This suddenly feels totally on the money. Bayohne?

My only issue with the DoL growth curve is the lack of Grade 5 nodes that would seriously help botonists in the mid-late 40's rank up.
