"My Little Chocobo system", oh you.

So much stuff! It looks like 1.19 is going to be delicious.
THE GAME IS SAVED YOU CAN RIDE A CHICKEN AND AN AIRBOAT HOLY POOP CHET
This is going to be an insane patch if it lives up to the letter, I'm officially excited.
End of September! Can't wait!
Also, it's silly just how happy I am seeing that pic of them on the Chocobos. Really dig the city emblems they're donning as well.
I like that the chocobos were outfitted with armor and the company banner :)
My little chocobo system ftw, and patch notes 3-5 times the size of 1.18 if we get that much I think the devs will be forgiven for end of september patch, but still wheres ishgard? I wanna see the inside of it.
I notice the different size of the 3 chocobo, it seem the chocobo is scale depend on the race , wouldnt it better if Hyur, miqote and lalafel share the same size of chocobo (size of hyur), Elezen and Roegadyn share the same size (larger chocobo because they are taler than the other 3) ? or maybe same size with all race ? it ll look silly with different mount size and the little one is cuter and have same speed as the large one, my opinion
And 1 addiction note in the letter:
it wound like it will be a reward and you re force to play a combat class to beable to get personal chocoboQuote:
-NEW-
Implementation of Grand Company-issue personal chocobos Finally, a chocobo to call your very own. Sorry for the wait.
note: I use word "force" in here because I plan to play crafter and skift combat but it seem not to be possible anymore, but I hope SE will add crafter quest into grand companies soon
Happily surprised to see XP chains making their way in 1.19, and linking enemies sounds like it could be interesting for groups. However the suspension of the BR system with no time line of when the new revamped system will be back is a huge let down, the new content will be significantly less enjoyable with only the simple rotational combat of most MMO's. Battle Regimens weren't perfect, but at least they added something.
I was also hoping the patch would be here this month/early September instead of end of September, and that the Beastman Strongholds would be open world leveling areas with Bosses, not instanced raids.
So.. 2 months to go, Oh well.
Man this patch sounds awesome. So much content, really hope it makes the end of September date! Seems like Yoshi and the gang are going to be able to start turning out patches every 1 1/2- 2 months. My guess is PS3 release date of March 2012, and we will have an amazing game by then for new people to play and all the old folks to come back.
can't wait... though i wonder if we'll have to use the emblems from the companies for the personal choco's
so this one is giant compared to 1.18?
(hmmmm)
R30 Ifrit battle....does this means we get to fight Ifrit BEFORE he appears on the main quest? That feels weird.
another long month ahead.
Meanwhile, start your engine ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUE32J43_wg
They already said in an interview that they're planning on getting crafting and gathering-related content into companies eventually.
Man this patch is going to be exciting. Caravan escorts? You guys WERE listening to my suggestions since the beginning of this year! :p
I am excite.
So no 1.20 before the end of summer.
Glad I fixed my patching problem cause if I didn't i wouldn't be seeing 1.19 until early/mid December! :P
/excited about class onry allotment! xP
To be fair most of the stuff slated for 1.20 in the past was combined into 1.19 so you get what you was promised for the most part. With a patch this size coming 2 months or so after a patch like 1.18 and 1.18a I'd say Yoshi-P is doing a fine job of cracking that whip.
"development of unique motions and effects for certain weapon skills" - very nice but: what about the mages?
they have the worst animations/spell animations i can think of, and still no change? Are they gonna touch mages before 2.0 or ever? If i missed something in the letter please tell me :). It's not just the animations though, but it would be a start.
AM still is a joke and 99.9% useless. I would like to have some information about these issues and IF they are gonna get improved/fixed at all.
They condensed a bunch of missions down in the last patch, hopefully they're going to do it again with the Ifrit one being somewhere before/at R30. That would perfectly lead into the battle vs. him there.
Hopefully it'll be sort of like XI, which had two versions of the avatar battles, except this time it would be 4-man at 30 and 8-man at 50.
Sounds great!
Can't wait for chocobos and like the open dungeon thing. Im only a bit sceptical about the new claiming system and monster groups.
But this patch will be great!
Looks pretty cool. Lots of content in this one. I was expecting strongholds to be open world as well but I guess we'll have to make due.
Airships and chocobos, woo!
Chocobos and airships WUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT
Come back to bed, all is forgiven
95% WIN patch. Some parts I strongly disagree with, though. We will see how it all pans out in September.
I agree here. I like how in FFXI there were different magic types and different casting motion/animations associated with each. In this game its 'hold-hand-to-head' purple power ranger motion. Hope they spice it up. Maybe you should make a thread with DEV tags and try to get reps to bring it up to devs.
Abolition of physical levels -NEW-We will implement a system whereby players can voluntarily allocate attribute points to each class in patch 1.20. This will take place alongside class balance adjustments
looks like were stuck with not customizable stats till 1.20 sigh was looking forward to customizing them how i see fit
Hmm I like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gg4AgvupLeE more... It's more calm and nicer to ride on. I find the ffxiv version to be spastic.
That's like 2 months, I think you'll manage.
I'm really looking forward to the gear customisation personally (and the removal of a pretty large chunk of the gear floating about as it gets turned into materia)
I love it! It definitely feels like a next-gen chocobo theme, much better than XIII's.
Very happy with the brief read I did of the Letter. Very happy to see: keyboard customization, chocobos, skill chains, change from SP to XP, Low level dungeon, DoH/DoL additions and tweaks.
Yoshi-P, you Matsui and the rest of the team may very well save this game!
So much for "End of Summer!"
This is gonna be an Awesome Patch!!! I can't wait for the end of September! :P
Also, YAY! For Yellow Horse and Flying Ship! :P
Well this one will be out by end of summer, looks like .20 won't be unless they implement it like 2 weeks after. Stop complaining anyway, it's an epic update!
These were unexpected. I believe they will allow the community to provide enhanced feedback.Quote:

Allowing the community to review the changes to actions prior to making the adjustments gives the community "a bite at the apple", so to speak. Our varied experiences and playstyles will obviously affect our feedback, and in turn, affect the final result.
So in brief, patch 1.19 is when serious Beta Testing of FFXIV will go into high gear.
Well, I'm glad all the "zomg eets comin end ob august" people can shut up now.
This was a really well written letter for a change.
Does this mean our Chocobos will have to earn their cutie marks?
For those concerned about not getting to use points in 1.19, please note that we'll be getting a temporary system for 1.19 where our point upon lvl up are automatically allocated per class (so your mage won't suck if you normally play melee), and in 1.20 we can do a reassign and set them however we want. :)
