Turn 12 - Bluefire & Redfire

We have cleared T12 but found that the Blue Fire to have a LOT of random stupidity behind it. For instance, our SMN picked it up and immediately it fell off. He was not near Phoenix, or near a live or dead bennu, and did not pick it up early.

We handle the mechanic by having a ranged DPS (SMN) grab the debuff once Redfire is being cast and proceeds to get hit by the Red Fire.

Here is what we know:
-The Bluefire AOE circle will evaporate if dropped too close to Phoenix (confirmed) or a bennu whether it is alive or dead (unconfirmed).
-Once picked up, the bluefire debuff will fall off the player faster if the player gets too close to Phoenix(confirmed) or a live bennu (unconfirmed)
-Running over a dead bennu's corpse with the blue fire debuff, causes the debuff to wear off (Disproved. Our SMN grabbed the debuff and stood over a corpse for a while and it did not fall off)

Thoughts?

P.S. if this hot fix is to fix something about the bluefire/redfire, our SMN will jump off a roof. I'll stream it. LOL

When the red fire spawns the boss does an 8-10yalm (The animation doesn't really look as big as it is) aoe that will cleanse the blue fire if the person gets hit by it. It's the same aoe that evaporates the pool. Our group thought the blue fire was super wonky too till we figured that out.

We had some issues with Bluefire, but it was our own issues, not a bug, as stated by Archulak, if Bluefire puddle is placed too close to Phoenix it will evaporate, or if a player picks up and then runs too close to Phoenix during the "evaporate" aoe it will be removed. Never had an issue with it since we started to handle it with those 2 rules.

1) Just be aware and don't drop it near Phoenix
2) If shit happens, get your BRD to immediately pick it up and go to a safe distance. The debuff is 1min, long enough to last until Redfire.

I think it is better having waymark and drop the bluefire on the waymark position and person who get the redfire will pick the blue fire. Less risky strategy in my opinion.

That's what we do, but then sometimes people still derped and you need to know how to respond to that though.

Yes, I have faced this issue a few times. Picked up blue fire but no where near Pheonix, blue fire debuff gone. Not sure why, no bennu nearby either.

You see that cast bar, saying "Redfire"?
And ya know the fire blast that goes out from the Pheonix before the actual Redfire ball spawns, and you have to intercept it with Bluefire?

If you didn't know...
If you have the debuff "Bluefire" and you are in, or near the radius of the redfire initial explosion, the bluefire debuff will be cleansed before you can get to the ball.

The most efficient method is to have the BRD handle the mechanic while everyone else keeps doing dps.

In reality, no.

If you have a SMN, have the SMN do it.
Why?
Because if the bard has the Bluebuff, all his output damage is 98% reduced, meaning their DPS will suck to oblivion.

It gives a heavy DPS debuff if you're having the bard do it, and who knows what'll happen.

It's a decrease for ~2 gcd. BRD does the least damage of any class, thus it is the least loss of raid dps. SMN is also a caster, so you either have him spam Ruin2 which is horribly MP inefficient, or not do anything at all while running around to take care of it.

Can you at least try being on T12 and doing the fight before you start arguing with me?

He has cleared it as he has the Augmented bow which means he has cleared t12 and he is 100% correct. A SMN can put his dots on and do a large chunk of his damage while camping the bluefire location then pick it up after redfire and lose almost no damage while a BRD losses a lot more damage(and TP if he actually used an attack) in the small time frame then a SMN. SMN can also sprint to to intercept the redfire if need be where a BRD can not.

The most efficient way to do it is to actually have the SCH do blue/red fire assuming he doesn't have brand at the time since his DPS is based on dots and he can still heal with fairy and lustrates while moving and not being affected by the bluefire debuff.

No T11 mapping, so no.

You are right that SCH is the best class to do it, except healers are dealing with brands so it's unsafe to be running around.

That is his achievement page 2 where he has the mapping achievement if you looked. And yes in order to have an augmented weapon you must have completed T12/13 and got a carbontwine(he also has the dreadwrym legs which are a T12 drop). I should point out the mapping achievement doesn't matter anyway as some people never clear trash with their statics and never get them. I know someone with a T13 achievement before he had the mapping achievements for 10/11.

So please do some research before you accuse anyone of anything.
