Poll: Who wants classic FFXI style BCNM

Hello guys and ladies,

I can remember some of the best fun I ever had playing FFXI was busting out 10 BCNM's in a night and making hundreds of millions of gil selling materials for high end crafted gear.

I had a all beastmaster linkshell that ran them weekly having a blast.

Running BCNM and KSNM with my friends in as hardcore a way as possible was the best times and cant be held a candle to with Guildleves. I cant say enough bad about leviquests and how terrible they are.

Please help us send word to the Dev's we want BCNM and KSNM style battles that dont involve REP or limited run Guildleves.

I vote YES.

I do miss BCNMs and would welcome them to XIV. Could do with better drop rates than the XI ones though.

Those fights had some fun variety to them.

Yes please. Anything about FFXI I would welcome into this game.

Even losing exp when you die so we don't have people who are rank 50 and have no idea how to play!

If you are familiar with BCNMs you'd have to be crazy to not want them in XIV.

i would welcome BCNM as a low man 30min type thing for players who don't have much things to do but give good reward and make a few hard for players who more into hardcore and i would love it.

Well they can have instance dungeons that are like BCNM, though the problem with that is we did level capped dungeons in CoP, and people really hated that.

A middle ground has to exist somewhere.

What made BCNM so addictive besides the rewards was the challenge. Sometimes it was a closely held secret on how to beat certain BCNMs in order to protect their income.

BCNM are not the same as a instanced dungeon, only similar in that they are instanced. Its more like a Instanced battle that requires farmable currency (not faction rep).

A dungeon instance would be expected to have trash mobs and boss mobs and require an hour to complete, a BCNm is usually 15-30 minutes with enrages and risk reward style play.

Pretty much similar in thought except the level cap. And we have CoP to show us how that worked out.

In BCNM it was a level capped fight for rewards. CoP dungeons was an entire dungeon and a fight level capped for the reward(eventual). In the end it's about the same if you put the reward part aside.

BCNM the rule was whoever's coins uses was the one looting so fight timeX6/X3 whatever
CoP dungeons, everyone involved get their reward.

The fact that coins are used is somewhat minor. It's all about the level cap.

Im down with level capped BCNM's not so much with dungeons and level scaling is not cool with me either.

I hope there is something similar but not excat..
like in FFXi BCNM, job was highly selective, unwanted job are nearly "forbiddden" to join a BCNM.. i hope it would not happen again, forcing ppl to play a certain job.

Well with this games engine about the only class that wont be cool is a group full of healing spec'd conjurers.

And you know someone would do it anyways just to be the awesomest.

Coins are involved, of course there's going to be risk/reward system. Bitching about that is a pansy way out.

It's completely optional. If no one want your job because a strategy hasn't been developed for your job, then go farming for your income.

The beauty about BCNM is that it is in no way required and if you think you have bad luck anyway, not always good for the pockets.

You can't say Challenge and then double back and say "but make sure everyone can win it with any combination". Defeats the point of challenge.

That's one line I won't draw. If BCNM requires a 3 ninja strategy, then it's their coin. Maybe someone will do 2 ninja and a rdm, and make their coin useful, etc. That's why there's many BCNM in FF11.

Personally I wouldn't care if they added it if it wasn't a must to get good gear or the great gear. Personally I have a grudge against BCNMS because of all the years of tryin(bad luck i guess) I never received what i wanted until months later and i just brought the item. As long as Its just something extra and not a MUST then sure why not.

edit: I did enjoy the fights though just hated my rewards. Instanced dungeons should hold the great gear in my opinion(of course having a good challenge also).

I think that BCNMs would be an asset to the game but not as a primary source of rare/ex items like ffxi. I still feel instanced dungeons are the way to go.

BCNMs were good for XI at that time. But I feel XIV deserves something more modern and updated.

Faction Leves, while lacking in the challenge are a better idea than BCNMs already in my opinion because you're running around and fighting in the open world rather than traveling to a single isolated room.

Perhaps if there was a device that teleported the party to a mission only area, where you fight a group of hostile enemies in a big area for gil and gear, I'd be highly in favor of that.

As we speak now, I'm sure SE is already creating instances similar to these ideas we have.

Perhaps if we didnt have to be slaves to guildleves to unlock faction leves they wouldnt suck bbuthole.

I think it makes sense you take on easier tasks before you take on bigger challenges. The Faction point system is better than the coin system of BCNMs as well since you're guaranteed points after accomplishing leves instead of getting coins by chance while grinding.

NO reason not to have them, they would fit into the game perfectly.

They are casual friendly, instanced, short, and for all levels.

I dont know what BCNM stands for... I quit FFXI before chains of prometia lol. those abriviations kill meh

Basically when you killed normal mobs they dropped beastmen seals or kindred seals. You could turn in 20-30-40-50-60 and get an orb for that level. You would then go to a burning circle in a dungeon and do an instanced fight against multiple enemy's or a strong boss.

Each BCNM/KSNM had pretty rare and valuable drops in it. Some upwards of 50million gil back in day.

Oooh ok. i remember those now. never fought any of them tho.

I for one can do without the BCNM fights.
