Idea for Dragoon Buff

This is an unorthodox method I came up with for dragoon and wanted to share.

So its no secret that ninja is the go to dps output right now (when the shinoobi is actually alive that is.) and monk's can do a lot for the raid group. So what's a dragoon to give the group? we got stuns and a piercing Resistance down debuff we can place along with the standard DoTs. Everyone seems to want to increase potency and buff rates but what if we do something sort of like the puglist/monk's Greased Lightning?

So what if as we do combos or do damage we generate "points" (needs a name, i'm terrible at naming though) and as we generate these points, we get a buff.

For example, we have 1 out of a maximum of 10 points, that's our base skill speed and strength stats x 1.5
at 2 points we get X 1.75 and at 3 points we get X 2 each point gains .25 more so 4 points would be X 2.25 Etc.

At 7 we would have X 3 and a buff (for example, a regen similar to what happened in the level 50 quest were the "dragon's blood within you heals your wounds" or maybe a crit rate buff)

When you max out your points you deal massive damage and lose all your buffs gained via this point system. and to curve the output we get a debuff that prevents us from gaining any more of these points for X amount of time (maybe a damage dealt debuff to also help the curve the output?)

I know this will make most of you roll your eyes and think "this is so dumb" but I want to see if we can do something different to make dragoon equal on the playing field in a different way then just give them a potency buff and increased stats. (that would be the easiest to do though rather then make a new system to add on to a well-made class/job)

They're probably going to add 5-10 damage per tick to the DoTs, buff Heavy Thrust to 20%, and add some additional form of debuff (magic damage outgoing -10% LOLOL) to Disembowel and call it a day.

I'd take that, maybe not buff the dots but buff full thrust potency for some sexy crits.

One idea : Let Dragoon cross-class "Berserk".

Since they don't have as much raid utility as MNK and NIN, let them deal really higher burst damage.

I could see them increasing disembowel's debuff as opposed to increasing HT's buff. Make disembowel's piercing debuff 15% or 20%. Makes a much more reasonable boost to bard dps too (because lol we have utility?).

Or on a much less likely note change bard dots to do "piercing damage over time" and they get the full benefit of disembowel.

That would be insane simply because it would be impossible for a geared paladin to hold pull aggro in that instance and it wouldn't surprise me if a Warrior also struggled with keeping it. Unless they give us a quelling strikes ability too (because in terms of aggro, elusive is much less effective on a pull than it would be halfway through a fight). And let's be real you rarely hold a cooldown unless another cooldown is coming up within 5 seconds and you want to use them together.

Actually, I rarely see Elusive Jump used for its effect on enmity, because enmity is not really an issue.
That would give it back one of its purpose.

And since is doesn't reduce your enmity gain, but remove half the enmity you have, it would be really great just after a damage burst.

Besides, a PLD could Cover the Dragoon or a WAR could Holmgang to prevent the mob from following after Elusive Jump (Although it doesn't work on every mob)

cross classing berserk wouldnt work because that would also give access to berserk for monk, due to how the cross classing works, which you know will cause even more hate.

aside from that, as far as utility goes drg should get a 10% int down debuff applied to disembowel, make it a 2 part debuff so that it could be overwritten by the int debuff from dragon kick and vise versa, the 10% int debuff make a surprisingly large difference when you do/dont have a monk, this would help bridge the gap.

So DRG needs an increase in their sustained DPS, but that doesn't mean you have to spread out the increase in damage over their abilities...

Maybe someone can make calculations for the exact amount, but they could just increase Full Thrust's potency at lot, which would increase their sustained DPS, but more importantly, keep their trademark as burst kings.

If they do that, and increase their Magic Defense, then they don't need any more utility...

As nice as it sounds that wouldnt work because if you wanted to just buff full thrust to get like a 5% dps increase, it would have to be so high, that you would reach a point where it would become better to just spam full thrust instead of doing a propper rotation.

i avoid monk because of greased lightning.... and because the class has a no combo screw up design(ie forms, which dont actually do a thing)
