Please Ease PVP Levelling

Frontlines and Wolves Den is pretty dead. The Qs are long and the rewards (more specifically for wolf ranks) are miserable ( this is not a debate on soldiery or poetics )


Please either consider re-merging all PVP servers, or at leave give us significantly more PVP points please. As it is right now, the majority of the players have considered them as unrealistic and no longer am attempting it.

I feel the same way. I'm going to keep grinding (@rank32) but I definitely think the exp reward should be increased. Something like 300/400/500exp for first, second and third respectively would go a long way towards easing the leveling process via frontlines.

It would also be nice to see a small soldiery/poetic reward from the Wolves Den to give more incentive (e.g. 10 soldiery and 5 poetic).

I feel like it doesn't take oh so long. You just have to be consistent about when you queue. You get to learn the high times of Frontlines (In my experience, I can't stomach Wolves' Den.) and it goes pretty quick.

Granted I'm only Rank 22, I was rank 14 the other day and started grinding out PVP because there wasn't much else to do besides dailies. I find it really entertaining because it's something different. Does the grind get really bad at 30? How many Frontlines on Average does it take for R38?

Absolutely not. It is NOT hard to rank up in pvp. If you truly like pvp and dedicate yourself to it you can spam frontlines and get to 40 in probably a month or two (and thats if you work a full time job). On top of that while you level up from 0-40 you get enough wolf marks for nearly 3 FULL SETS of end game, really cool looking, gear (that is if you skip the lower level gear and just use your PVE gear which is perfectly fine in frontlines). Once you are level 50 it takes about the same amount of time to get full sets of PVE gear from end game weekly content since you have to wait a week for each peice of gear. Its 100% on par as-is with PVE content. I do not think it should change. ...... think about how much time you spent playing blitzball compared to the main game in FFX. I personally spent ALOT of time doing it. This is basically the equivalent to blitzball in FFX or any other mini-game in a final fantasy series.


P.S. I see the person who started this thread is on ultros and I can say that on Primal data center PVP is anything but dead. Frontlines ques are never longer than 5-10 mins tops and more recently this week i'v been queing for wolves den with only 15 min ques, sometimes less when i que as a healer or tank.

Yeah Divided has it right. The trick to Queueing for PVP is being consistent. After you finish a Frontlines, queue IMMEDIATELY and it'll be way faster.

@Divided comparing the time it takes to get gear from content with a weekly lockout vs. content you can grind isn't a fair comparison. If anything, the time it takes to get individual pieces of gear is about the same across all types of content (e.g. the time it takes to get i100 gloves is about the same in PvP and PvE) but the time it takes to be able to use that gear is totally different.

433 matches and i'm rank 45. It was closer to 350 matches to get to rank 40. At 5 matches a day thats 10 weeks and 5 matches a day is maybe 2 hours of pvping a day. You can play more on weekends if you so choose so its about 2 months for a "casual" (i know tahts relative) to get to rank 40. You feel like it should be easier? How much easier do you feel like it should be? Currently i think the system is perfect... anything easier would feel like a giveaway and would completely devalue the reward.

Not to mention you get 40 soldiery and 20 poetics every single run! I mean come on.... why does everyone want something for nothing. FL has the most overall rewards for any end game content by far. PVP exp, wolf marks, soldiery, and poetics and you want it to give you more? Veruca Salt......

The top ranks seem a very tall mountain for me, especially when you haven't been keeping up from patch to patch and are looking to catch up from the bottom. However I love that they removed the rank requirement on i90 gear. This leads me to believe that sufficiently outdated gear will always have rank removed, so if you are just in it for glamor you will eventually be able to wear the animal-themed i100 stuff. I know that's not a solution for actually wanting the latest gear and highest ranks to be a serious PvP player... hopefully queue times will improve as they add additional maps, rules and rewards, and there's probably some hope of them rebalancing exp payout as more ranks are stacked on top.

10 weeks gets you immediate access to ilvl 110 weapons for all jobs. This is more than fair.

Also, if level 80 sync stays around then SE should never need to wellfare out gear. With the moral changes the basic set is good enough.

on the contrary there are yet people who have reached max pvp rank and do no pvp anymore because they have "reached" everythin. they just log in from time to time for fun.

And i dont think that waiting queues for PVP Carteneau are that bad.


I logged in for Ramuh Extreme and Carteneau at the same time the last days .. and Carteneau opens up much before Ramuh.
Although it says "30 mins waiting time" its more like 5-10 mins waiting time for carteneau in the evening.
i dont bother doing arena pvp at all, because it sucks as a black mage. openfield pvp in contrast is fine.


And i dont think that they are too high.. in Dark Age of Camelot you needed about a year or more to even reach Rank 10-12 for only one character.



The bigger problem i see is to make the PVP rank a requirement for the pvp gear..
I personally think that what you mean is more.. that the requirement of rank 44 is too high for ilevel 110 pvp gear.

i think they should lower the requirement for PVP gear extremely. the rank progression at it is is just fine.

Also dont forget to use "in-progress" checkbox as many times you can get to match that is just about to begin.

But my PvP queues have been 30-90 minutes of late.. which is why my first suggestion was:-

"Please either consider re-merging all PVP servers..."

You need around 260 games to reach Rank 38. And no, it doesnt should be easier so you PvE guys can just sneak in and get the cool animal gear. Its good as it is now. PvP players have something to work for. Just like PvE players have coil. What would you say when there comes a pvp player and asks to "ease up" coil so he can faster get the weapons from last coil.

Frontlines is not dead at all. Wait until 2.5 drops and the new map will give you more exp. Thats it.
