Gear > individual skill and coordination
Just gonna point at the DPS mains that can deal anywhere from 200 DPS (if bad) to 400+ if they know what they're doing, on the same gear setup.
I think you mean <
But yes. Given T13 was beaten in about a two week period, it's pretty clear that its hypertuning is aimed centrally at 2.3 gear levels; gathering Poetics and Dreadwyrm gear will help loosen how perfect players have to do in order to survive/meet deeps checks/etc
1 group beating it doesn't mean it's still not true. Just because they did it doesn't mean others can and will do it, it's just to prove how much they can hone their skill and coordination. Regardless of how positive SE can be with the difficulty of content, perseverance and practice can overcome the difficulty set by the developers.
That would you force you to be at the mercy of RNg to progress, and thats the epitome of bad Raid Design.
No one wants to be in a situation where you have to tell your raid "Sorry guys, we can't progress until T10 and T11 drop any healer gear at all. So we're just put this on farm until we luck out and get some healer gear"
Really, the clearing group would have had some T10/11 drops fully melded crafted accessories, the very best and most perfected rotations for DPS etc, basically the very very bleeding edge of progression guys. The kind of people who live and breathe finding ways to add an extra 0.1% DPS.
Take a group of regular people and you wont be able to do that.
TIL you can blatantly show yourself using 3rd party tools in videos linked directly on the SE's forums and still not get banned, even after devs have said it's a bannable offense. JP button I guess.
SE operates on a Don't-Ask-Don't-Tell policy with respect to third party tools. As long as you're not breaking the rules of the game (i.e. pos hacking, item duping, etc.) and you're not naming and shaming people over their DPS, third party tools are completely fine. This has been known for a long time.
Actually, that is exactly what it means. 1 group beating it in 2.38 means that it is possible to beat it in 2.38 gear. Nowhere was there a statement that everyone and their dog would suddenly go do it easy peasy. All it does is prove that gear is not the reason people fail. People are the reason people fail. Gear just let's you overcome our lack of personal skill.
I read a guide for turn 5, watched two videos... forgot almost all the fight in a day. No joke either. After beating Garuda EX a week ago, I don't remember her fight at all. I won't be able to do my novus stuff either anytime soon, will need to grind the heck out of gil... since I can't tank, will be a bit hard. Can't craft, (Don't want to macro either, so HQ isn't really a possibility) FC isn't good with crafting, etc. Will be moving to Mateus, likely search for an FC when that occurs.
I never read any guides, nor watched any videos on turn 5. I learn by doing and improving myself by actually doing the content. When I beat it, I still had my unupgraded uat on my then main, my blm.
What does player skill have to do with novus... or grinding gil... or not being able to tank... or even crafting (I craft everything important by hand, btw, not with macros, the only thing I even use macros for is when I'm putting out HQ lowbie stuff to sell on the market)... When I beat garuda EX the first time I was on my barely met requirement job... a whm no less lol
You can't really get carried so much being a healer doing harder (EX+) content. Again, its about player skill. Not whatever you trying editing your post into. Which really doesn't make any sense to me.
Sounds like those guys LAN partied (very common in Asia) the turns like the good o'l days. Everyone within proximity of each other and able to directly give feed back is much more productive than voip across different regions.
The difference between them and regular players is that they are using melded accessories which cost millions to meld. Doing this actually makes them better then higher ilvl stuff. Most people in the game are not willing to spend millions of gil trying to penta meld accessories.
It's Lucerzia, they could enter T13 in their smallcothes and the level 1 weapons and still comeout on top
Millions of gil? Really? Have you never spiritbonded your own gear then melded it yourself? I'm currently in process of penta melding my gathering and crafting gear sets. Didn't really even cost me a dime. Just some time spiritbonding once a week. Just 2 weeks ago (or so) I spiritbonded out about 18 pieces in about 1 1/2 hours. I consider myself a regular player.
Oh yeah I gather/craft stuff to spiritbond as well.
And in 3 months pugs in 130 still won't be able to clear Turn 5
