Please get rid of this UI clutter item

I'm talking about the quest log that displays the open recent quests on screen. By default it's on right side of the screen.

Now the specific thing that annoys me is that it's the home of FATE sync button which IS useful and hiding it alongside the quests would be insanity.

Pretty please please cut the cord between these two items in the UI settings and let us display the fate sync button by itself without the blue mess!

I'd prefer they let me actually hide quests.

The game for some reason forces a minimum of 6 quests into the tracker, and theres nothing you can do to turn them off.

Yeah first I want them to let us manually hide them, if that's not possible then separate them from the duty ui so we can hide it.

You can hide it. Go to System > Hud Layout > double right click on Duty List (or till the words turn purple).

I think they want to be able to hide certain parts without hiding others.

That said, can't levelsync be macro'd? Just hide the dutylist, use said macro, and there you go...

Ah, okay I see what you mean. I think that would require the ability to create separate UI elements.

That said, can't levelsync be macro'd? Just hide the dutylist, use said macro, and there you go...

There's also the dungeon timer or the ability to see if DF is finding replacements, all part of the duty UI.

Agreed.

Also, Allow us to turn off the large notifications that pop up in the middle of our screens. These "FATE JOINED, QUEST ACCEPTED, QUEST COMPLETE, DUTY COMMENCED" notifications are often redundant because such information is elsewhere on my screen and these large notifications really just block my view of battle or another menu/leve description.

Also, at OP, I know this isn't a fix for what you're asking for but until SE fixes this, if you want to reduce UI clutter you can disable the duty menu and use /levelsync to join FATEs. The draw back to this though, is that you wont have the duty list up for when you enter a dungeon :(

reduce the size to 60%

It would be too hard to read the text, but you would still see the fate sync button to click it

I do have the text at minimum size. It makes no sense to pair these as the other one (quest info that's also in journal) is just another way to access the same info already seen elsewhere.

The duty finder and fate button is absolutely vital and disabling it makes the game unplayable.
I don't have anything against people who like to see that stuff but to me it makes zero sense to see LORE TEXT on the screen among gameplay at all times?!

Keep the option sure, but please untangle these two things from each other.

At the moment the development team is looking into updating the user interface so that the HUD layout can be adjusted more freely and customizable. Since these adjustments are being conducted side by side with other tasks, we have no specific date for when we will see these changes implemented. However, the team will include the suggested separation of the Duty UI and the level sync button as something to look into.

The duty list is also connected to the PvP displays (Frontline, wolves den) etc which are semi-critical for PvP. It is a lot of clutter, to get around it I shrunk the duty list.
I am glad to hear they are working on it!

Also, a different suggestion would be to only show quests while in that zone unless you have the gold box checked in the journal. ie, if you've quests in zones A B C and MSQ is in E but gold checked, I would only see MSQ in zone F (that's kinda a crude way to put it but yeah)

If you're only after the "FATE" Level Sync button you can replace it by /lsync command in macro and slap it on your action bar instead. As the Level Sync is idioticly removing all you buffs as well I have it in one macro together with re-aplying of most important bufs after level sync ;) You can add dismount command as as well.

Typical SE - originally it was working as needed - we were able to remove ALL quests from the list via Journal. Then SE without any specific reason removed this feture during one of the patches and when after big outcry it was finally after a loong wait added back it was CRIPPLED like this! Tss tss ...

actually it's 5 quests always up. but yes it would be nice to be able to hide the quests without hiding the duty list window or that they separate the active duty from that window

That's great to hear. Would it also include fixing the Duty List quests to show the ones we've selected to show and hide the ones we've selected to hide? Or being able to move/resize/hide all those text display windows that are locked to the center of the screen?

How about separating the quest log with the Duty UI or at least making the quest log "minimizable"? There is nothing more annoying that being inside a Duty and having to navigate around the questlog or being forced to remove the Duty UI so I do not have to see the quest log.

The PS3 version hides the quests in the duty list while in a duty. I think this should be carried over to the other versions as well. I assume this will come sooner or later.

Allowing the select what quests are visible in the quest log would also be nice. Right now, thawed it works it's simply bizarre.

Detaching the button seems unnecessary. It would just add one more unnecessary UI element to the UI element list.

That's a PS3 limitation because it couldn't hold everything at once. It's really annoying, and should certainly not be spread to the other platforms. (If it were just during dungeons, that would be fine, but it hides the duty list during FATEs as well, which is where the real annoyance lies.)

Just because a FATE happens to be occurring in the same location as your quests doesn't mean that you're actually going to take part in the FATE or give up on your quests. With the PS3 version, however, it does mean you lose access to those quests in the duty list. Particularly if those quests require using a key item that's linked through the duty list, losing the duty list makes them harder to complete. It's an annoyance I was glad to be rid of once I switched from PS3 to PS4.
