Is this BS or BIS?

So someone was telling us that they have over 800 GP (pre 2.4) on their miner/botanist. I'm not a rocket scientist with math, but I do know that I have BIS for the miner and botanist gear as well as my accessories, which are all highest end (e.g. Dodore) and I don't see anyone breaking 640 or so in GP. I don't care how much materia IV you meld, you can't get more GP than a piece of gear will give. Even with food and stacked buffs, I just don't see getting another 160 points of GP. Someone want to unveil the mystery for me, please?

I was to understand people actually reached over 650... after food.

That said 800 sounds like someone bullshitting you.

800 doesn't sound like it, it's just plain bs.

I have 627 and im not fully melded for gp but I don't think you can get over 650 without food or fc buffs.

BiS pre 2.4 The new gear (with the possible exception of the offhand) seems to have the same stat caps GP wise as the old gear. So the Best you can get is 640.

Thanks for the specifics, Yonko. I have 636, and I know that I could have got a few more GP, but decided to go with more perception, and I'm in all pre 2.4 gear still. I didn't think the person was up and up. If I was to give them the benefit of the doubt, I would say that their eyesight was bad and was seeing a 6 as an 8. Who knows?

yeah it looks like the most you can get with food is 671 so either they failed pre-K or they were just making things up.

Well... More than 600 GP is useless anyway if you can't reach 650.

Swing to reveal + 30% HQ +5% hit swing twice + extra swing = 650 total 640 base. add an extra swing if you have 635-639.

Sorry. At 630 you can do all you need to on most of the one star nodes.

I am at 638 without food or 2.4 gear and know I can add a few more GPs. The only place where I need food so far is Dzamel tomatoes and 345 works there. If I still was after HQ umbral rocks I would use food there as well.

How does the materia slots appear melded with your link? When I access the site, they appear empty. Is there a way for it to show BiS with BiS melds as well? Thanks.

You need to fill them in and click create link at the bottom.
