PvP Armor

Can the PvP level be lowered to 30 on all pieces or less, please?

The amount of time it takes to get it, is far too high. I sit there for an hour just for 1 round, after there are less people each round with a longer wait.

I don't enjoy doing pvp. About rank 19 or so and absolutely dreading how long this is going to take, just to glamour 3 pieces of gear.

Though I like what you're saying and I too want it to be lowered I feel as if the pvp gear aside from the HA is the only ''prestige'' vanity in the game. Players who commit to the coil/raid life love to boast their weapons in North Shroud/MD to show prestige and being elite. I think lowering the lvl for the items of pvp would take away from its value , as much as you would like for the game to be close knit and what not the van base likes a bit of diversity and grind for some of the better looking items. I marvel at the lion mane themed armor everytime I see it, and just as much time I would like to be taken away from it , I think about all the hard work another player has already put in. Especially when the grind was worse with just Wolfs Den rather than FL which allows you obtain the Wolf Marks for these items ridiculously fast I have the full SCH set and Im only PVP rank 26

Those of us who are PVP rank 38 plus worked long and hard to get this gear, and while others were in full parties getting scores of Allied Seals we were queuing for Frontlines instead. This gear is meant as a reward for people who have worked long and hard at PVP, and if it wasn't an exclusive club we wouldn't have put so much effort into getting into it. Membership is open to anyone as long as they pay the dues.

No thanks. Put in the effort if you want the reward. I grinded my way up from rank 6 to rank 40 via Frontlines. I have three full sets of the gear (Swansgrace, Wolfseye and Elkhorn) because I put in the time and effort to achieve something. I also found out, in the process, that Frontlines is a LOT of fun.

I cant believe people still complain about leveling pvp rank when it used to be so much worse before frontline came. If you dont enjoy pvp why do you care about having a full ilvl 100 pvp set anyway which is only useful in one instance of wolves den that nobody even does anymore. Does vanity really mean that much to you?

Uhhh I got scores of allied seals and rank 40 adder, 36 mael and 30 flames now, just saying its insanely easy to rank up and OP should stop complaining, if its just for rank/glamor then leave the GC that has 1h queues, pretty simple fix.

1 hour queues? Wow, I've never waited more then 10 minutes... Even in the middle of the night... Either way, I don't think they should lower the rank, I'm working pretty hard to get mine, and I'm enjoying the process!

You better get used to it. From what I've heard, PVP ranks are increasing cap in patch 2.4 and I'm sure they'll have some more awesome armor to go with the new ranks.

They already have an Achievement for Level 90 in PvP. That means, future PvP-Maps will give a lot more exp then previous maps and you will be able to get this gear faster. As of now, i dont want to see a decrease of needed exp for hitting level 40. That would just be a slap into the face of everyone who spend his whole time on it. You cant get all within just one week of farming. Some stuff needs time. Deal with it.

OP, the best advice I can give you is to simply do nonparty activities, for example leveling gathering and crafting classes. If those don't amuse you continue working on the atam quest and beyond. It really makes the wait times feel that much shorter.
I really doubt they will nerf the exp or level required to equip the gear. Plus that would just be a huge slap to the face of those that have already achieved rank 48+ ( the legit ones )

Hmm in that case I'd highly recommend switching to the Immortal Flames (if that's not your GC already) because I hear their queues are super fast. The Twin Adder queues on the other hand have been horrible so I wouldn't recommend that GC at all.

If you get multiple losses in a row btw you actually get an increase in your PVP exp per match that resets once you win a game.

This would work well if you're on the primal data center as flames rake up those 3rd place finishes like nobody's business. Last match I was in they didnt even make it to 500 points before the end of the game lol.

PvP is never gonna be successful anyway. No one else does it from what the usual wait time is.

rank 38 is not even hard anymore. U should have played wolves den once it released since rank 30 take like 1600+ arena wins for me. I reset my gc in 2.3 and did rank 1 - 30 in a week. Rank 38 may take 2 weeks. If you dont wanna see so much effort u can wait future patches until xp is faster and u can get ur lvl 100 glamour once gear is outdated.

For lazy people there is another option too. Just do challage log 3 FL wins and 7 games total once a week and u get extra xp.

Well 2 weeks for Rank 38 is a bit exaggerate, dont you think? That means you have do to around 25 frontlines every day. And lets say one frontlines takes 28 minutes (15 mins for the match, 3 minutes until the gate opens, plus 10 mins wait time in the best case). So you want to say someone should spend 700 minutes (Lol, around 11 hours) a day to play frontlines for two weeks? And thats just the best case with only 10 minutes of waiting.

I believe the i100 PvP gear will be craftable at some point, maybe we will be able to craft it with the new update.

I agree with this, I was pvping long before Frontline came along.... I started first week of WD. If anyone has a reason to complain about the grind its early WD pvp players. The points we got back then don't even compare to what you can get in Frontline.

Yeah my queues are too long to make hitting max rank a possibility. Most of the time it's not really possible to play PvP, you can't get in. I think the answer is to keep adding rewards to incentivise people to play. Allagan tomes weren't enough persuasion.

People get their horses and play less. People hit R40 and play less. You'll see those people resurface again at 2.4. Really doesn't require any more PvE rewards.

The blm pvp gear looks hideous anyway. On another note I played a match with the OP before and he was pretty hilarious. The anger he experiences while getting interrupted trying to cast spells was so amusing to me. As was the complaints he was voicing in party chat.

I think it's warranted considering how SE makes it so hard to do full damage, if you have intelligent players go at a black mage. There almost nothing they can do if sure cast and equanimity are on cool down.

And the awful amount of glitches I see in PVP is frustrating too. Tell me how a party of 5 people live a direct hit from a level 2 limit break, and the only 1 of the 5 to die was the one that ran out of the circle?

Or characters killing me with stoneskin on and taking 0 damage.

That's just the price you pay for being the most dangerous PVP job in the game in terms of damage potential (next to smn) and instant lethality. A small group of blm's if left unchecked can easily wreck opposing teams if they are adept at crowd control and are coordinating their attacks. Blm's iirc have the most crowd control tools out of any of the jobs (2 sleeps, lethargy, blizzard II). And obviously its hard to do full damage on blm in pvp but the same goes for all jobs in pvp not just blm since you are actually going up against other people who are able to adapt to situations and counter as opposed to the scripted fights in pve which can be predicted. Its next to impossible to keep up directional requirement buffs/debuffs 100% of the time for melees (not to mention the difficulty in never letting GL drop for monk), bards have to consciously make an effort to always remain at optimum distance for max dmg despite their targets always moving, and smn suffers from the exact drawbacks blm does while having less cc abilities. Do you have any idea how godly blm would be if they could cast uninterrupted 100% of the time with the dmg that job puts out plus those cc tools? The only way to make that work while still preserving some semblance of balance would be to significantly reduce the dmg the job puts out and I've never met a dps that was ever willing to accept any sort of dmg nerf.

Cause 2 whms and a sch heal spamming is not the most overpowered thing in pvp. All those Crowd control abilities don't mean anything when you have a party healing left and right. Scathe can't out pace the regen buff when a healer runs away. Even with Lethargy on, all you have to do is get out of line of sight, which is easy.

What does this have to do with anything? Healers have the same casting drawback that casters have. Furthermore, while having three healers in a party I grant you will make you feel "invincible or overpowered" if you are facing uncoordinated pug's they are far from invincible when facing a coordinated group or pre made group. If you keep on nerfing healers to the point where even random pugs can solo them now there would be no point in even going heals so idk where you were going with that. And now that they removed cleric stance from frontlines stacking heals beyond 3 heals suffers diminishing returns in the sense that it severely hinders that parties attack power to the point of it being non-existent.

And those same crowd control abilities you're underestimating are what make blm's so deadly against healers (namely sleeping the extra heals and systematically synchronized nuking and destroying each heal). Sounds to me like you just wanna be able to solo people which I'm afraid you aren't gonna be doing on blm. Go war or pld then if you wanna do that. They are generally ignored anyway until they are the last ones standing so you wont get attacked as much. There is a reason why people place blm right on up there with heals in terms of kill priority. Maybe look into it before belittling their capabilities.

Gieb your data-center then, even in peak hours im getting 60min+ ques and off-peak hours clocks easily 300+ mins to the point you actually forget you are qued in firstplace and at nights its totally pointless even que up.

I can relate. I'm currently rank 30, in the same datacenter as you, where the queue can take 1-3h. I too only do this for the glamour.

Coming from someone who just a few days ago got R38 (with 1,600+ wolves den matches, and maybe 100 or so FL). FL has it easy when it comes to pvp EXP & marks. With that said, I would hate it if SE would diminish my reward because somebody who doesn't even enjoy pvp to get a glamour piece. They already removed Morale for FL and made it so you can at least queue with us without instantly getting demolished. Now it's more skill based, and people who are not willing to put in the experience to not-suck complain because the pvp community gets rewarded (small rewards) for playing pvp.

Well they made it because they want people to keep playing Frontlines. If you dont give a shit about frontlines then just wait until they remove the rank restriction in 3.0 (or 2.5) of all the ilvl 100 gear.

i want them to nerf the rank needed because it's absolutely ridiculous how much you have to play for copy-pasted gear sets. seriously most of the il110 pieces are nothing more than knock offs. no wonder people don't bother with pvp if the rewards can basically be gotten else where

The gear is an incentive to keep the ques for frontlines alive for those of us that actually enjoy it. If there was no rank requirements for glamours then most people would've went straight to getting their i110 and abandon pvp after that. The ques would quickly die, and you would really have a problem getting the gear.

You have 1 of 2 choices: you can either wait for the next tier of pvp gear so that they can remove rank requirements for i100, or you can just stfu and grind.

Well I am not one who enjoys it. I would rather slam myself in a door, cause it's less painful.

Being only rank 31 and each match giving me 200 points... It should be once you buy it, that's it. Cause it's already bothersome just to get in enough matchs just to buy each piece.

They didnt mentioned it so far, but thats just logical following squares way of thinking and development of this game. And on top of that, it did just happen with all ilvl90 gear in patch 2.4. So ilvl100 will be free in 2.5 or 3.0.

How can each game give you only 200 points? Even if you loose every game, you will get more exp in total compared to the gc wich wins most of the time. And after you reach 30+, leveling up will become even more easier because the challenge log bonus will do most of the work for you (up to 50% every week).

Yes, I just noticed it going up.

It's still too painful of a process to level up. Half the time I am stunned or bound in a way that I can't hit anything. I try to use equanimity, but stun or silence over and over. Till it wears off then all I can do is scathe.
