Compilation of UI/Game Suggestions for a better FFXIV

Hi,
English is not my native language so excuse me if my writing is kinda bad.

I have few ui/gameplay suggestions, some are mine, some have already be posted here.


1- Holding Shift while trade item between two char should remove the confirmation button and exchange the whole stack.

Yeah, trade item is slow and it's boring as hell to click on the confirmation button each time. I don't think a "Hold shift no confirmation" require a lot of work and i will greatly appreciate this.

2- Increase the trade windows from 5 items to 10.

Five items are not enough.

3- Search on inventory/retainers should work on chat linked items too.
On the last patch you add this feature nearly everywhere, but not on the items linked on the chat.

4- Add a /random command.

For RP purpose.

5- Add a RP tag near the name.

Already posted but worth mentioning

6- Allow us to buy multiple stack from the market board.

I don't say you should allow to buy single items from stack (i think it could be nice but it's worth a debate) but you should definitivly allow us to buy multiple stack from the marketboard.
Like when you want to buy 30 items and they are only availiable one by one.

On the market board, we should have a popup windows where we write how many items we can buy, if that number is not availiable (exemple : there is a 1,1,5,10 stack posted and we order 8 items) the popup will tell us the total price for the nearest lower number (in my exemple : 8 items are not availiable, 7 items will cost you xxx gils, yes/no).

7- Items who are not used and not binded to your character should stack.

It will be an huge improvement for crafter.


8- Add a Tackle box for fishers

Already posted but worth it.

9- I want to put my retainers as NPC in my house.

It's so sad to have to use a bell, it could be a nice addition in our house.

10- Add right click option on friend list to add access and differents levels of rights on your house. Like Access to the house, move your furniture, add furniture ...

11- Add "locks" on desynth

The desynth system should be rewrited, the current system when you loose 0.01 desynth when you use desynth from an other job is annoying as hell.
And there is no point in it, because you can avoid the loss using a 1-1-1 rotation. So why i talk about it ? Because it's annoying as hell, and it's a bad design.
Instead of this, you should have a lock icon near each desynth class. A class with a lock on can go up, but not down. And you're total desynth can't be over 300, so if you hit that score and you need to go over it, you will have to remove one of your lock.

I don't see the point of forcing player to buy low level items from other desynth class and do a "rotation desynth" each time they want to desynth something by fear they could loss desynth level. That's not fun.

12- Training dummy should explode (and quickly respown) after they receive a number of damage.
That could be a nice way to compare rotation and stuff without having to use any parser or forbiden 3thd party tools.

13- Allow quick synthesis on one star items.
You should make a quest that unlock quick synthesis on one star items that's available to hight-end crafter.

14- Add a quick desynth
Something a little like quick synthesis, when you have 100% chance of desynth, add a checkbox to desynth all items with the same name in your inventory (and only items who are not binded, no sb, no materias).

15- You should add a way to get a little more shards for hight level gatherer.

On each patch, you increase the number of shards needed for crafting an item, it would be nice if one star/two star gatherer had a way to get a little more of them.

I'd add to that:

• Adding 3X4 box hotbars; this would help those of us using MMO mice.
  
• Adding more hotbars
  
• Custom length hotbars (more buttons)
  
• Option to sync all character UIs to a main character on the account
  
• Separate DoH UI, to optimize the position and scale of hotbars for this very different activity

i just want power auras for procs , or way to track procs /buffs /debuffs...

You can do that with a copy paste of some files in C:\Users\XXX\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn
Not really user friendly but doable.

You are right about hotbars.
I have read on a recent live letter than addons interface is still in development, i don't think it will be something that big (like wow lua interface) but at least we can expect to redesign hotbars.

Controller:

1. When the map is on the screen and you teleport to another zone, the map is selected by default upon zoning in so that when you try to use the camera analog stick, the map moves instead of the camera. When doing hunts I encounter this issue repeatedly.

2. Please add an option to lock the map and additional chat windows to the UI so that they can't be accidentally cleared when selected.

I don't see this one happening, it can be a bit complex to automatically unstack equipments if their individual value change, plus each equipment can hold a different color value without being bound.

They are planning to add access settings for house, but moving/adding furniture I don't see it happening other than (probably) people you share an eternal bond with (aka married).

What's the point of this one? ATM you can drain the HP of training dummies with two or three hits, if it dies it will be harder to check a full rotation.

Don't quote me on this, but I think that got a dev response short after desynth came out, I believe they said they had no plans to add a quick desynth feature at the moment.

Show a random number between 1 to 100, visible for people around (or maybe in party). It's useful when you do role-playing event.

Give the dummy enough HP to stay "alive" for at least around 5 minutes of sustained damage. When he got no Hp, he explode and respown 5 second later.
That way, you can use a simple chronometer and check if you can get dps improvement with alternative rotation or equipment.
It's not my best suggestion but i dont think it's hard to do and it could be useful.

auto decline friend, FC, Party invite

I should add this two :

- Give us the option to write a note on names on friendlist, i don't always remember why i add someone in the first place (like when i send him a craft on his mail)

- Allow crafter to repair other people gear

How do you measure sustained damage? Which job? Dummies are there for people who actually care about this stuff and if you did you'd know that every DPS job except for monk has massive spikes in their damage output, usually at the beginning, and sustained is just how it averages out and is not an indicator of how much you are doing at any point in time.

Not only that but for all of the jobs except for BLM their sustained doesn't last 5 minutes because of resource issues. In a real encounter they sustain for longer because jumps and mechanics give them downtime, and you have paeon, against a dummy you can only get an idea of your sustained by attacking until you run out, which is well before 5 minutes. Why not just have dummies tell you how much damage you're doing? It's so simple.

It's a row idea, that can be tweaked to the right number. And i could be wrong but i don't think SE is wanting to give us a full DPS meter anyway.

Let us save multiple UI settings/layouts, so we can switch easily.

One from me:

Add ability to remove multiple names from Blist.

Controller:

The game keeps forgetting what target mode I set. Multiple times per day I have to remind the game that I only want to target enemies with left and right on the D-pad. I wish the game would remember this always, even when logging out and coming back on later.

I wish I could enter dongeons and duties with smaller groups than the maximum group size allowed. And create our own funny challenge.
I would also like a possibility to remove timer (and loot) on dongeons so we can use it as a roleplaying zone.
Allow group of players to have fun together during the whole storyline (don't care about the lower difficulty), no more: "you must leave your group" content in an mmo.

Added to that:

Add the ability to remove all (Deleted) names from Blist and friendlist with a single button click. Or better yet, remove (Deleted) names automatically.

We were originally planning to add the random number feature in Patch 2.4, but due to scheduling adjustments we had to push this back to sometime after Patch 2.5. Apologies for the delay.

So much this. I've so many names on my friendlist and I have no idea who they are. I have to pretty much screenshot the character+name before friendlisting to be able to place who they are. :s

Would be kind of funny to just chill in Coil lobby as a 'repair NPC'. Hmm, wonder if one could make a living of that.

How about enabling us to use our Chocobo companion while in a Duty Finder queue? It might not be an issue for Tanks and Healers, but DDs sometimes have to wait 30+ minutes, and being unable to use your companion is a major annoyance.
You've been mentioning giving us the chance to do so since patch 2.1, then said some technical issue came up and that you'd be solving it in the future.
Then 2.3 came out, then 2.4, still nothing.

It cannot be that hard to make so the Companion disappears once I click on "Accept" when the Duty Finder window pops up, come on...

Dyes as well. No quest needed. Common sense, ppl are usually making more than one.

Signs:

Option to resize
Option to display in the mob list

Waymarks:

Ability to resize
Ability to place during cast or while moving
Option to make more transparent (so "thick" with heavy contrast can make it very difficult to see when they're around)
Waymark D (please reconsider SE)

Add NPC-dialog window to HUD-layout so that we can scale and position it however we want. Currently you can move the dialog-window around when it is showing but the position does not stick in cutscenes and moving the dialog-window is also buggy as it jumps down a couple of pixels from where you leave it when it refreshes. This is how it is on PS4 at least.

The game needs to support undo (cntrl-z) for undoing mistakes when working with text (the chat log, macros, etc). You'd think this would be a no-brainer since it's ubiquitous.

The <flag> and <link> need to be worked on on probably overhauled to make them easy to use and work with. <link> should be <item_name> or <i.ID> *where ID is the id of the item. The smae should be done for map markers.

Add an option to the Summoning Bell to switch between retainers instead of having to cancel out of all the windows all the time. :)

Add a TP bar to party list >.>

With all the new gear and materials being added it is getting harder to store/manage all this!

1) Could we get an additional tab on our character's inventory and/or for our retainers?

2) Could we get an additional retainer? Either a free one in game to allow having a retainer be based in each capital city, or at least the option to buy an additional retainer through the mog station?


And agree with adding a tp bar to party list, otherwise whats the point of the rogue Goad skill if u dont know the status of other party members tp?!

me and my bf play this game constantly, and the past few days we have been lagging every time we attack, talk to an npc, or even go to a new place in the map, or teleport, or anything literally. my question is has anyone had this bad of lag issues lately? and by the way my month trial is over in a week, starting to get seriously pissed off and not want to renew my subscription.
