Class materas any one?

Okay i was thinking in the near future perhaps they could add class materas

For example white mages could get one that increase how much there Cure heals for" Or degress the casting times

others examples
Smn/acn : Duration of Bio last 5 seconds
archer INcrease duration of eagle eye-onger

What is "materas"?

It would be cool for the sake of having options, but I have a feeling that content might end up being tuned for this type of thing. This would result in you having to have certain melds just to do certain content.

Dragoon Materia IV: Def and mdef during jump, spineshatter dive, dragonfire dive and elusive jump is increased 9999%, auto-raise for 10s after jumping.

Monk gets the suplex materia.

this would allow specialazation in some way


like smns most people use the bird girl but i prefer ifirt current hes my favoirt and has been ever since i started playing final fantasy so im never going to stop using Ifirt it should be optional but most of the time we are forced into using bird girl or titan and honstely personally i hate both of em

so with this we could add a mat for specialization in Ifirt Like increase his dmg or attack speed or something

This is a pretty cool idea.

However, if they were to do this I feel like they would have to put materia slots on everything, and make it so that you can't stack the same class materia effect.

How about instead of making the materia for gear, they would put the slots on the job crystal. They could start with having like 1 slot and 3 different materias for each job and expand on it with each patch.

if new players get confused by that then the new players are retards and need to go back to wow where its so simple a 2 year old can understand it would be my reply to yoshida. ITS OKAY TO CONFUSE PEOPLE TO MAKE THE GAME MORE FUN AND FORCE PPL TO LEARN INSTEND OF PLAYING THE WAY THAT ENCOURAGES PEOPLE TO BE BOTS, lets face it all the content we have kind of is so simple minded even with the exs its just dodge doge doge same thhing over and over again this encorages bots is my full reply to that

tbh Yoshida should be fired if thats how they view things that kind of thinking brings in bots more than anything

I would like a more interesting materia system ;D

I remember posting a big wall of snooze in 1.0 about wanting something a bit pliable and less random (I doubt it was because I asked, but some core changes I wanted to see did happen, so that was nice.. <3 ).

As Amused said, you will definitely want to put some controls on how and where these special materia work, but it would certainly allow for new and possibly wildly different builds of the same job (given the right abilities). Will of course cause FotM.. you win some and lose some I guess.

Pipe dream to be more like FFVII (connections, interplay, positioning)/FFIX(skill grafting)/Diablo 2 Rune Words(interplay, system upon a system), and with careful balance perhaps bring crafting gear closer to dungeon gear but to also allow dungeon gear to be a part of the system. That's crazy though, so many changes and a lot of work.. >.>;

We aren't shaming anyones spelling. Just asking a question. Was hoping it wasn't materia cause the materia system in this game sucks and was seeing if someone came up with a new fresh idea.

No, it offers the illusion of choice. Because when there are multiple builds there is always a best one. And when there is a best one the meta will only accept that build. Have fun being excluded from content because you have improper melds.

So now I realised why all every "current-best" gears have no materia slots. ^^;
