More than one time I have queued up for front lines and the queue times are horrendous... 1hr queues, even at peak hours. Honestly, starting to feel like any content related to PvP is only relevant on the first few weeks then it gets buried, only allowing either the bored or the cultists to do that forgotten content.

Yeah, it got boring after a while but the system was very flawed. Not sure if they fixed it, but I remember queueing only to be in a party with around 4-6 members. sometimes we were missing an alliance

I wouldn't say Frontlines is dead, but the queue times are getting worse. On Leviathan, you can always get a match going before 1 a.m. in under 20 minutes. However, the teams are rarely balanced. The Immortal Flames seems to be lucky if we get a third full party.

Speaking for myself, I only did FL for the pony and once I got that I took a one month break from it before deciding to go for the gear as a glamour. I got rank 40 last week (had only been playing 7 games a week for the challenge log) and have not touched it since. I noticed that the queue system obviously has some terrible bugs in that if your queue time goes over 45 minutes, you're better off requeuing. Doing so would usually get me a game within 20 minutes.
Speaking of the queue system, it is awful. I'd estimate less than 2% of my games ever started with a full team and it does not begin to replenish ranks until AFTER the game starts. Far, far too often my team would start with under 50% attendance and screw us from the start (some games we're not full until 7-8 minutes in; unacceptable). We'd make comebacks for sure, but often the deficit of the start was too great to overcome. It's easy to see why people have stopped playing after such an atrocious experience. -

Since nexus light farming, I've been doing frontlines almost non-stop. Make sure you queue for "in progress". On the primal data center, I rarely wait longer than 15 min for a frontlines queue.

played last night and wished the queue would stop popping so much, couldn't do a single thing because they were instant or within 1 min of queuing. Try leaving mael, the time will only get worse and more change for perceived win rate. I ended last night going 7/13 1st place with adders getting 4 and mael 2, even if flames won 1 game out of that its much better to get 1/13 in the same timeframe and 1/2.

To be fair, PvP was never really alive. It was on life support when they released Frontlines, and FL just wasn't enough to keep it afloat. Honestly, who cares about wolf marks in this game when they do literally nothing for Frontlines? It's a meaningless currency. The only thing I ever used my marks for was buying up gear for desynthesis!
The PvP itself is horribly unbalanced, and will remain thus forever since it's simply impossible to balance. Tanks will never be tanks, healers will never get to do much actual healing, and DPS will always be the class of choice because a rubbish offense is better than a great defense. -

It also doesn't help that the only people that want PvP amount to a paltry '1%' of the game's population. I do Frontlines not because I love PvP, I don't. I do love party content and it's alot of fun to do something with others. Yeah, I don't see the opposing parties as people, I see them as 'smarter' mobs because it's how it feels. I like that, Frontlines doesn't feel like PvP to me. The goal isn't to murder eachother, it's to hold the bases and maybe kill the ancient machines. But that's not what the '1%' want, they just want mindless mayhem and that's not how you win the PvE people over.

Simple reason is because of people who take it to serious and start throwing around the blame game when they lose can't PvP for fun and you got some guy yelling and causing drama and yeah I rather skip that drama scene and not deal with PvP I am sure a lot of people don't wanna listen to someone like that so a lot of people just skip it.
I used to PvP in diablo 2 and FFXI but here nope unless it is for fun not so serious. -

Basically, it's yet more content you can't really do with friends, or FC-mates, unless you are really lucky and everyone rolled the same GC for some reason. The rewards are GC locked as well (dumb). Matches are decided by your alliance head-count the moment you zone in rather than by actually fighting, and that is terrible. Tanks still have no place in Frontlines short of pseudo-DPS's, and the whole mage-interrupt-sprint thing is just a huge mess that turns this into a game of cat-n-mouse rather than a fight. -
10-04-2014, 06:04 PMElHeggunteIt is a flaw. In an attempt to keep the queue times down SE made it so all three sides don't necessarily need to have a full roster before the match can start. The game will start as a 48/72 person match, but when you actually get into the instance you don't always have two/three full alliances like you should. I've had my fair share of 72-player matches where the Flames had less than two full alliances for more than 10 minutes into the match and that was pretty common. The system back-fills as the match goes on, but you're typically down players long enough that you have little to no chance of recovery even if you eventually fill up.Quote:

It was poorly designed.
#1 issue. Nation locked.
#2 Matching requirements on # of people is too high and ques drag out so long ends up being 25 vs 10 vs 15.
#3 Players cant join in until the match has started/Gate has opened.
#4 Matches are too long.
#5 Frontlines is a set routation of events and isnt random. Its 7mins in gogogo middle its about to pop.
#6 Allagan Middle thing acts like fate claim credit.
#7 Lack of objectives.
How to fix:
Remove Nation lock teams. Let anyone/any party join any team randomly in the que.
Make it 10min max matches.
Let players enter a join in progress before a match begins.
Add in a player swap option to put players in other parties before the match begins. (This way can balance parties up instead of having 8whms in 1 group and 0 in the other 2.)
Add in random spawn factors for the middle.
Design the middle like capture the flag not.. do as much dps toget credit. -

If you ask me, pvp shouldn't of been a dungeon event.
They should of made a zone for PvP just like they did for FFXI and anyone who wanted to join the fight could go talk to a npc and make the goals like ffxi where if I killed you and I would have to turn in my points before I was murdered.
Also to make it interesting throw in monsters and npc's to fight give you something else to worry about while fighting and they can join any side. -
