We're pleased to announce the special NA Fan Festival edition of the Letter from the Producer LIVE is set to cover even more ground regarding Patch 2.4! This next Live Letter will take place during the Las Vegas Fan Festival, with specific timing and details to be announced!

In this thread we'd like you to specifically pose general questions regarding FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn.

Will we be able to set permissions in our personal houses allowing Eternal Bond Partner FULL access to the amenities (bell, NPCs, garden, mini-aetheryte) furniture placement, etc.?

Basically will our marriage partner be able to fully share our personal house?

Permissions for other groups (Friend list, free company members, etc.) would also be a bonus.

How many more classes do you have planned for release in the future? Teases are welcome haha.

Also, I don't think Bahamut will stay in his cage like a good boy. Will we ever see him break free again? And will we be strong enough then to finally take him down?

are we going to be able to use voice chat with players in a trial, rade, dongen, on duty finder when we are playing with outer players not in our sever at some point in the future

for example when you go into a trial solo instead of in a party:cool:

Will there be an option to do gardening in a personal room?

You spoke about Magitek Companions once, but explained that the idea wouldn't be fully realized until you guys felt the Chocobo Companion system was at a specific level of quality met by the team. How's the outlook on this? Are Magitek Companions still going to be a possibility in the future?

Are there any plans to add new higher-level tools (perhaps off-hand?) for DoH/DoL as you've done in other recent patches?

What is the current progress on completion of the Golden Saucer, and which patch are you aiming to introduce it?

when i play dungeons seems like you just go from point A to point B, and kill everything along the way. do you have plans for this in the future. like traps or puzzles we have to solve before move on. or use mounts that are not used for combat but used to over come obstacles in the dungeon.

Tackle Box for fisherman?

How will you address the shortage of Housing Plots if the demand exceeds the number available (or technically possible) again? Will you be able to react on short-term to add more plots or will we have to keep waiting on the next patch for more?

Do you plan on easing the drop rate for Atma?

How do you plan on adding more complexity and customization of our characters?
(class and job personalization / individuality)

The current Hunt feels a repackaged Hunting Log and Odin/Behemot. The same goes with the relic quest line where the same content is reused over and over again, just with a different packaging.
Are there any plans to introduce truly NEW content and mechanics?

When swimming and underwater content will be added? In 3.0 maybe?

We'll have new Nobuo Uematsu music tracks for the 3.0?

My questions are as follows, (Taken directly from the last live letter that we could ask questions on)

1. Will we be getting any new continents in the near future?

2. Will we be going into the "Past" like in Final Fantasy XI?

3. Will we be getting any of the class/jobs I have suggested in this thread?

4. Will there be a cascading/linking enmity system to force people to focus on mobs?

5. Will it be possible to get Romancing Quests in the future?

6. Will there be FATEs added to the Umbral Isles concerning Siren's Defeat?

When will addons, to modify the User Interface, be released, how much will we be able to do with them and will there be a testing phase before releasing them?
I think right now players have different ideas about the addon system:

• for me it would be a way to modify a few elements of my UI so I can see some Information (like party health) more intuitively.
• other players seem to think it'll allow much more than that and are therefore sceptical, fearing that addons will drastically change their playstyle of the game.

Starting a testing phase with interested players on a separate testserver first would allow us to see how much impact they would really have, while also building a database of already developed addons to use when the system is released later.

Speaking of addons, the widely discussed damage trackers come to mind. As a player who likes to optimize my classes I enjoy analyzing the combat log (manually of course, considering we don't speak about 3rd party programs =D) after fights. The combat log allows to do this quite effectively, albeit it is missing a crucial part of every job's damage: Damage over Time abilities.
Is there a way to log this damage too, and is there any chance it will be implemented in the future to better analyze and optimize one's playstyle?

i was wondering if we will be able to send mail to outer players in game not in are friends list like you can in final fantasy 11? i thought that would help free companys with recruitment so you get a email that you can read on your free time about it. am sorry if i asked this question twice in the tread

1. Will you be introducing an option to allow us to display TP values of Party/Alliance members? This would really help with the BARD class to show when it is most appropriate to use Army's Paeon.

2. Will you be overhauling the Retainer interface? Can you implement an option to disable the Retainer's dialogue boxes? If you have paid for the extra 1 or 2 retainers, the current menu system and constant displaying of repetitive dialogue boxes is irritating and slows-down the interactions. One option is to only allow this as a "feature" for those who have paid for the extra retainer(s).

3. Are you planning to introduce more features to Personal Rooms to make them more interactive and a "destination" rather than merely a place to store items? For example, adding an Armoire, a Retainer Bell, etc.

Are there any plans to introduce a macro command that allows you to use items within macros? At the moment, potions are very cumbersome to use; your only choices are to devote precious hotbar space to a potion, or navigate menus to pick out the one you want. With the short duration of potions, just picking one out from the menu could take half as much time as the potion actually lasts when you use it! I think that the ability to use items within macros would breathe new life into the potion market. From a less practical and more aesthetic standpoint, I'm sure there are many individuals who'd like the ability to use items like fireworks within macros, as well.

Will we see any more content that resembles past final fantasy content? Similar to that of the crystal tower? I thought it was a great nostalgic trip and was very well done. Also will we be hearing any more music from past final fantasy titles being implemented into the game?

Throwback turn-based dungeons would be amazing. (See Wonderland Online for a turn-based MMORPG if the devs needed any inspiration.)

Given how often you end up "sincerely apologizing" and/or hastily creating hotfixes for miscommunication, poor planning, and a lack of forethought, could you please make it more of a priority to communicate with the player base with clarity, completeness, transparency, and timeliness?

We'll see Open Dungeons in 3.0 finally? Also maybe for collectible things and not only for equip.

Any chance 2.4 sands of time/oil of time version purchasable with Allied seals? Is the current Hunt mechanics will be permanently implemented for future "catch up welfare" patches?

Can you show us a mini-video about directx11?

What about to make a 8-bit/16bit graphics dungeon like the Titan Video you made time ago? It would be priceless. :D

In patch 2.4 will we finally see the face of Yugiri?! - Will we finally get some information regarding her race?

Are there any plans down the line to bring back Dark Knight, Samuri, or expand on Rouge in the same fashion as arcanist --> scholar/summoner (i would very much like to see Thief and Treasure Hunter latent abilities return

Is their any plans to introduce an 'Airship Dungeon' perhaps on board a Garlean airship?

How's about that add-on API?

Are there plans for the Zodiac Weapon questline to be more easily progressed to make it a more attractive alternative to Gerolt's Masterwork Weapons?

Obtaining Gerolt's Masterwork weapons (Conquerer, Glanzfaust, etc) and sands of time are much less time-consuming or frustrating in recent patches as compared to obtaining Atmas or completing the tasks set out in Books (which remains largely the same)-hence more players opt for these weapons over their ilvl counterparts of the Zodiac weapons.

During beta phases, you seemed to value input from the fans. Lately, it doesn't seem to be the case. Would you consider letting the players have considerably more involvement in the development of the game? We are a creative bunch with quite a few good ideas. :)

Will there ever be an "upgrade" to offhand tool animation models? Level 50 crafters gets a new look for their main-hand crafting animation but their off hand remains the same!

Do you have any plans to ease the conflict in the Main Scenario roulette dungeons between new players who want to watch all the cutscenes and experienced players who want to complete the dungeons as quickly as possible?

Will Yugiri's race become available for players? If yes when?

Have you plan also to introduce some special bosses in the Zodiac quests?

Are there any plans to actually encourage players to level more than one class, instead of designing the game in a way that discourages it? I'm talking about having separate lockouts for each class, or dungeons that require changing jobs during them ,etc... the armory system is one of the most powerful ideas in the game, but it seems wasted, will that change in the future?
