"Try on" option included to equipment on other people. But why so limited?

Why are we only allowed to try on one piece on someone else? We should be able to try on their entire set. Also we should be able to try on any gear that drops in dungeons before we obtain them.

Yep, right on the loot box! How do I know I will like what I need until I actually see how how it looks on me! What do you guys think.

I wouldn't say this is a rant. They are both actually good ideas. I like you post.

I agree with being able to preview items as we are rolling on them.

Trying on one piece at a time does not bother me so much, but I would really like to preview them as we are rolling, so I can know if it is something I would want or that I would just pass on. I am so happy we can try on items from our inventory/retainers, I managed to clear out so many that day.

What I really want is the ability to try things on from item links in chat.

I agree that this would be very nice and tbh I find it odd that it has not been implemented.

Would anyone else like to not be stripped of all of the gear they are wearing except for the piece they are trying on when they preview something?

There is a button you can hit to show all your currently equipped gear except the one you are trying on. It is beneath the window displaying your character.

But you have to click the button every time.

That is a valid complaint. I personally wish it was a toggle like whether your head gear displays.

A dye peview for the Try On equip if dyeable would be also good

I'd really like the Try On option on loot roll windows, and to have it on the rewards listing on Quest windows as well. (I might occasionally like one of the optional rewards that's not an upgrade if it looks nice enough.)

Right from when it got introduced it bugged me how you could only try on one piece at a time. Other games with a preview feature that I remember did allow you to preview multiple armour pieces, as well as weapons to mix and match to see if things fit well. As it is right now I'd have to guess and pray pieces work together nicely. If they allow us to preview multiple parts at once however, that problem's pretty much gone. Please SE, do this sometime :(

I know what you are saying but hey, at least we can try on now. I like it, everything in the world could be better in some way or another. You just have be satisfied with what you get sometimes or be unhappy a lot I guess. Try on is way better than a sharp stick in the eye fyi ;)

I'm sorry but that's a terrible attitude, you should always try to improve, not "be satisfied with what you get" or "it could be worse", the system will never be perfect, so there's always room for improvement and feedback.

With that said, I agree with OP and the other suggestions in this thread.

We are planning to make it possible to try on items with various displays, and we'll also look into allowing a try on feature for loot. In regards to trying on other players' equipped items, we're looking into whether we can have a try on feature that allows you to try on multiple items at once, so we'll try to see if we can apply this system for that purpose as well. There is no concrete implementation time frame just yet, so please be patient while we work on these features.

Anyone else find it odd you can try on someone else's pants while they are wearing them?

while we are on it, please make it possible to "search inventory" also on dropped items. I once lotted greed on an item where I did not know if I already had it, it was on my retainer. I really felt bad for lotting on it afterwards (I wanted the full set glamoured, like I have it now x.x)

Oh my god a GM responded to the thread. I mostly made this half-jokingly and I didn't think anyone would take my plea seriously.

But it's happening! That's great.

It would be very cool if you could select multiple pieces of gear with a "Changing Room" option and the latest pc of gear you picked for a slot would be saved, eventually allowing you to make up an entire gear set.

Also the ability to bring up the dye window and look at different color pallets with the Try On option would be cool.

Can we unsheathe our weapon while in try on option? I wanted to see how the GC allied seals weapons looked but they remained stuck to my belt in the try on option.

You can already unsheate the weapon just look at the bottom of the try on window. Wish that option could also be used with shields because the crafted titan shield probably glows once you unsheat but you cannot do that with a shield.

SE needs to go make a lvl 1 wow toon run to the auction house and see how a proper gear preview system works.

Then copy it line for line.

I been wondering about this for ages. I was tempted a few weeks back to make a post about this but was scared the forum lemmings would take pitch forks and knifes at me. They need to add the ability to try on multiple pieces of gear, so you get a better idea of what your overall look will be before buying something expensive.

Also, the ability to preview multiple dyes on more then one gear would be nice too, so you can get a better overall picture of what your color scheme looks like. The GM response is a step in the right direction

I was pretty disappointed when they introduced the preview window. I was expecting that I could try the stuff on with just ctrl+mouse click and try multiple clothing on (like in Lord of the Rings Online). Don't see how something that simple is yet to be implemented.

i wish i could /visor on the fitting room

aswell as with shields be able to unsheathe.

Id love a system like GW2 try on function where I can try on different pieces of armour to mix and match sets before I buy anything then realise I wasted my money because it doesn't really fit well or spending ages having to try on something, buy, try on head set, buy, try on gloves buy etc etc etc.

Also while on topic can i dye more than the base colour of my armour please? Also unique armour, why can't I dye that >>?

That happens when a post is made and isn't full of spite and makes valid points. Was a great suggestion and deserved a response from SE.
Catch more fly's with honey and all that. Wish other posters would take notice of it.

This is great news; however, any chance we can get the option to zoom in on something now the belly? IE trying to find the perfect neck/ring/earing for glamor and trying on someone else's you can't look at it. Would be nice to not have to equip it and play with camera angles to get a 65% good view of them (rings drop it most)

How about making it possible to try on multiple items at once? And better yet, the ability to scale the Try On window so we can see stuff easier?

The development team doesn't want to make any promises to implement the ability to preview dyes while using the try-on feature as they have other tasks with higher priority in their current schedule, but they have been informed of this request and will be looking into it.

Personally, I would like the option to be able to open the Market Board (and I suppose dungeon/other players too) and preview what dyeable armor looks like dyed. I like to dye my armor, but sometimes the items look really god awful dyed.
