Can we have some?

Instead of three 4-man dungeons SE should release one 8-man per patch.
Now hear me out for a second. 4 mans are currently invalidated on release because easier alternatives to i90/i100 (Minimum) exist and we've been stuck with i70 and i80 dungeons that would've been trash content even back when Leviathan had just been released.
What if instead of releasing content like that (Which is going to be ignored by most people outside of roulette), you released one 8 man dungeon per patch that was 5 levels below the tome gear sets? So for instance at the start of the patch which introduced Second Coil and Soldiery -
CT - i80
Myth/Allagan - i90
Dungeon Gear (And maybe later weapons) - i95
Weathered Soldiery (And later ST) - i100
High Allagan/Soldiery - i110
Doesn't that make more sense than what we got (Brayflox/Halatali/Amdapor dropping i70 gear)?
Two chests per 8 man boss, you could have the initial 8 man have armor only (Like traditional dungeon loot now) then a second 8 man in a later patch with some armor and some weapons like Wanderer's Palace as a mid-way weapon.
A single 8 man dungeon per patch? People would blow through content twice as fast.
Nobody even does the 4 mans though outside of roulette unless they're trying to get vanity. They can barely be called content in their present state and there's no sign that they're ever going to logically make sense as a progression point like they once did in 2.0. They have no place in the game in their current state.
Veteran players have no need to run them
New players have easier and better alternatives for gear and tome cap at the same time now that hunts are in the game
If it wasn't for duty roulette most players would probably not even go into them aside from the initial clear to finish the quest or what not
I'd welcome anything that deviates from the current pattern of endless 4-mans with little attempt at creativity. There are currently 23 four man dungeons that all basically offer the same experience: Run into packs of generic trash mobs, kill them, fight a boss, kill more generic trash, fight another boss, kill more generic trash, fight the final boss. Isn't it time for something new?
There are so many cool things that could be done. I'm sure many people here could come up with some great ideas for dungeons. Certainly SE could as well if they put their minds to it and were willing to experiment more.
We will get more of those in 3.0 once the Main Scenario starts expanding to a Big Plot considering now all we are getting is Minor plot that is setting the stage for 3.0 Storyline in 2.X Main Story.
I'm struggling to see the reason behind wanting an 8 man dungeon and what could possibly make it more interesting than 4 man dungeons (assuming they are). OP gives no reasoning for the request, either. Lol. There are none other than "it's something we don't have yet."
The 8 man story dungeons were cool to do once but not really something that you would want to repeat a lot of times.
Meh.. I can do without 8 man... lets do 2 man dungeons, and let you bring your chocobos :P.
Players: Yoshi-P can we have some new 8 man dungeons?
Yoshi: Not at this time, but please look forward to this emote we're releasing soon.
I hope they never ever add new 8 man dungeons, it's toxic enough in cm and Prae without adding more choice to the mix
The toxic community is being caused by forcing people to split apart and not be able to run with others.
The lower man the content the more toxic the community will be. When you do not have to rely on others to progress, you can be a ass with no consequences.
OP wants to herd cats with sticks.
If not 8man's then 4man extremes would be a another option, and getting superboss trials that are on bar with current endgame bosses would be totally awesome aswell.
In my own experience, people are a lot nicer in 4 man content than they are in content with more players. If you're an ass in 4 man stuff, you'll also find yourself kicked much more easily than, say, in Syrcus, where the endless cycle of "can't kick during loot" and "can't kick during fight" gives immunity to being kicked.
I would LOVE some more 8 man dungeons. Sure, we get CT and we get Coil. (The latter I personally don't bother with because... statics are not personally good for me and that's pretty much the only way people progress through them).
Outside of coil and CT we have just 2 old story dungeons that are 8 man. We need more content like this, yet designed in a way to be sometimes like coil (normal floors with mini-bosses, final floor with end boss) and sometimes like CT (mobs, boss, mobs, boss, ect. til final boss). I say to use both existing models of endgame 8 man+ so that it doesn't always feel like you're running the same thing. You have to change it up or else it feels stale, how about a whole new approach. Who knows, maybe have a boss fight in the middle of a floor/level like some of the older dungeons do. Don't always use the same progression path. All dungeons don't always need 2 mini-bosses and a final boss. How about a more interactive dungeon, maybe some puzzle solving where the party needs to split up temporarily before rejoining. (just throwing ideas out there)
I'm just saying, we need more dungeons like CM and Praetorium. Honestly CM was a fairly decent design, there were several instances where party members had to interact with an object (or objects) in order to proceed in the content or make the content easier, this even was included in 1 of the boss fights and I actually love this mechanic (It's a really great design, only made difficult by brand new players that ((or normal players that just..)) cant follow commands). There definitely should be more of this.
While I don't mind the current theme of "trash, mini-boss, trash, mini-boss, trash, final boss", why does it always have to be this pattern with normal dungeons (and HM)? Change it up! Not all dungeons should have the same basic layout in my opinion.
FFXIV has been out over over a year, lets do more with it. Expect more! Think bigger! More creativity!
Come on SE (Dev team) I know you can do it.
Yeah... 4-man is boring and I miss the old 8-man from 1.0. THey were more fun than any dungeon in 2.0 atm and harder and with more mechanics in it. Also those chests for speed run to drop the body.
