Shinra technologies and ffxiv

Please work with this new tech to bring us everything we could ever ask for in performance, server load and graphic quality.

No longer having to deal with limited resources for instances, wards, losing times, exc. Sound fantastic.

All those in favor of ffxiv using the new Shinra Technologies?

It's an interesting thought, possibly combining ShinraTech with FFXIV. But the entire game's framework would have to be converted over, which would likely mean rebuilding the game from scratch, which I am sure Yoshida doesn't want to have to do again.

Though this does bring about a lot of possibilities for future titles, provided the hardware is able to handle the kinds of traffic this could end up generating. And if the FFXIV servers on opening day are any indication, let's hope ShinraTech knows what it's doing.

Avalanche and Shinra teaming up in the gaming industry? But wait! I thought they were part of a game! Oh wait they are, FFVII and FFXIV coming together to make a new system? Sure as hell would be interesting. Lets just hope Shinra Inc doesn't decide to start mixing human and alien DNA and splicing together a supersoldier with plans to summon meteor and destroy Earth, I dont think Cloud and company will be around to save us!

As others said it would require ff14 to be rebuilt also the whole instance world stuff was for the ps3/ 4

I have my doubts about it. Also looking at this... From what I can see it's basiaclly watching the game via a stream(no client-side sync)... Imagine titan with that... what do you mean you were out of it... you ran into it...

I don't see why this can't happen for ff14 too. i just mean being able to play ffxiv on shinra technologies to improve performance. not integrating the technology into the game.

Exactly. The tech to do this might already be there, but the infrastructure is not. Many parts of the world, the US included, do not have a well developed internet infrastructure, especially when you compare them to say Japan or South Korea. The US actually is the 14th fastest, or slowest, depending on how you want to perceive it.

Latency would probably be too bad to beat something like Titan EX

Ah yes, the power of cloud computing, the latest buzzword to get tech investors to back your project. I'm sure that along with strong team management skills, this visionary product will boost S-E's user attach rate, foster engagement, and increase their revenues with the help of partners.
