next month on steam

Read about this yesterday, I wonder why they've decided to port one of their most unfavorable games over. Regardless of all that, I'll be purchasing it in hopes they'll decide to port 15 over when it's out if this is successful.
Haha yeah no thanks... That game was pure garbage
Hallway: The Game
FF13 the worst of the Final Fantasy series. I will only buy if it promotes for more FF games to re-release on steam.
I personally think no one should buy it... It sends the wrong message to SE... The message that this game was acceptable and we are gullible enough to buy it knowing what it really is. I actually feel stupid for getting this game... In fact it's the only time I was glad it was over and never attempted the optional content... And I always do the optional stuff in FF games
I bought it yesterday, it's just 11.69 EUR :D
I didn't play any 13 before (don't own a PS3) and even if it's bad and/or boring you can't do anything wrong with this price.
I'd like to get 3 and 4 aswell but not these crappy mobile ports....
i played FFXIII and FFXIII-2, for me they have the opposite problems, the 1st had a good story but was boring to play, the XIII-2 was fun to play but the story was a mess... i bought the XIII-3 when it was released... i didn't even opened it ><
But yeah, i can understand why people didn't like the XIII but for me the worse will be the XII (till they find a way to make one even worse), the gameplay was not fun, the story was... inexistant... i'm in front the last boss, didn't even went to it :"what? already the end? this is bull****!" effect. Yeah the hunt was fun concept but you can't make a game all about mob bashing, you need a story... it's an RPG not a Beat them all ><
I respect your opinion, but I couldn\\'t disagree more... OK the story wasn\\'t nearly as epic as many other FF games but it was most certainly there. I think many people feel this way because of how long you could go between story bits thanks to having such an explorable world. There were reasons to explore areas that were practically suicide if you were a low level but could survive if you planned well enough. The hunts... Oh the hunts were fantastic and the reward, fighting Yiazmat was incredible... So much so I did this on all 3 playthroughs.
But most important of all for me... It opened my eyes to how fun an MMO could be since the game was practically a basic single player MMO (yes I know what MMO stands for)
But these are my opinions of course, but this game was a get in mine and my wifes eyes
I hope they let you use XBox 360 Controller. This is great news for people who only play game on PC.
Can't wait for this game.
Ugh, 13 was by far the worst excuse for a final fantasy game ever. The battle system was terrible, the storyline meh, gameplay linear and music meh. Compared to the epic feeling of the previous games it was dire. The fact that you controlled one character (and barely at that, you could get away with just using auto most of the time) was a terrible choice. Bring back the battle system of FFIX I say.
It also had a ridiculous success through rng. Get to the final boss and don't stack death resist on your party leader, well, better hope you don't get targeted by his death status effect or its game over.
Rather than waste money (IMO) on porting 13 to pc they should just do a nice HD version of 8, 9 & 12.
Seriously?! I don't have a console so I will buy this and play the shit out of it! :D
Loved it, would buy again but I don't own a PC
People seem to forgot that XII was also kinda fail. I mean yes the battle was amazing and you could explore wide areas but Magic was useless so do Summons and that game had absolutely NO STORY. I mean seriously it was like a cheap Star Wars spin off. XIII at least tried to get some story but the gameplay was a total fail and awfull. XIII was the first FF that you thought you gonna play but instead it played you. It was just an automated liniar bot cutscene. XII had no story but at least you could play with it. XIII should burn in hell and never be remebered ever again. I hope they took their lesson and XV will be better but after the recent FFs I'm kinda dissapointed and don't expect anything great. Only FF XIV even though it's an mmo made me rethink about the FF series. As for the single player FFs X was my last enjoyable.
I'm glad I wasn't the only person who couldn't stay awake trying to play ffxiii.
I believe it's mostly a cash grab. It's interesting to note that it syncs up perfectly with an XIV mostly failed patch.
I picked it up mostly because I hope it's going to get funneled into the team fixing the issues here. And I happened to actually like Lightning, both as a character and a concept.
I'm sure that they will allow a controller. Even their newer pc games can be used with an xbox controller. I recently got Tomb Raider (came free with a video card purchase) and was pleasantly surprised that it picked up my xbox controller right away. Very convenient. Make no mistake - SE is a console company first. They are just trying to make a few quick bucks on the PC market.
-only person on the planet who enjoyed FFXIII series...- ;_;
Wonder why SE decide to port this after 5 years.
Speaking of which, 13-2 also scheduled for 2015 release according to wikipedia. Dunno if it's true or not.
13 is the only FF series I haven't played simply because I never own a PS3. Maybe I'll give it a try, though not sure since MMO literally takes away lots of offline games from me. lol
They recommend using a DuslShock controller via XInput for the game. Too bad I can't get my DS4 to work:

It's a straight port. The game originally ran on PC from what I remember.
If it goes on sale for dirt cheap at some point (like, 10 bucks), I might pick it up. I tried getting through the game when it first came out, and I had to quit about 4 hours in lest my brain would have made me gouge it out of my head with a spork in self-defense.
Seriously, the game's plot disappears up it's on butt so far that it's practically non existent. Cocoon was day-glo green EVERYWHERE. The music, aside from a couple of tracks, ranged from forgettable to ear bleeding. The combat system was boring as hell. About the only thing in that game had was the character design. By XIII-3, they managed to even screw that up by going full on Play Arts Batman on it.
You're not the only one. I rather enjoyed the XIII, but it's just that the Final Fantasy series suffers from broken base syndrome. For just about Final Fantasy game, there will be those who say it's the best game ever while others will say that it's the worst game in the series. See VII and VIII.
Personally, XII is the worst game in the series in my opinion, followed closely by IV and VII.
Im in the same boat. Gave up on consoles when my 4th PS2 shit the bed. Too much money to go through that again I thought when PS3 released, so I dropped it for PC gaming (ftw!). The last FF I played (besides this one ofc) was 12 so I am eager to pick up 13. Sure I've heard its terrible, but for $16 I'll pick it up and try it out, so I can at least form my own opinion, and give me something to do in DF queues @_@
Final Fantasy: The Walking Simulator.
Well, I suppose this is good news for those who enjoyed FF13 but I am definitely not interested in this.
lol...gamers are so dramatic.
Quite a lot of people liked it, myself included. But people come out of the woodwork to bash something, while people who like something usually don't say anything. So the percentage of negative opinions are artificially inflated to make it appear as if nobody liked it.
In before thread lock as this has nothing to do about FFXIV.
